Marillion's "The best of" compilation would easily better that from any other artist of the genre. They are absolutely unparalleled when at their best. It's consistency that they sometimes lack, and those occasional downward blips maybe make them the most underrated bunch of top-notch musicians ever. They always had all the makings of the best band in the world, which to me they probably are anyway. So proud to be their fan.
Absolutely one of the best songs ever written, by any band! Every time I listen to it I get chills down my spine. Steve Hogarth is one of the best singers/interpreters out there.... He's up there with Steve Perry, Peter Gabriel, Freddie Mercury and David Coverdale, as far as being abole to express himself articulately with his voice and with his body language.
Yet another transcendent Marillion song, and one of my absolute favorites. This band has truly made my life more enjoyable for over 20 years. Thanks guys.
Bring on the DVD !! Was lucky enough to be at this gig. In following Marillion for 25 years they have never sounded better. H's vocal was stunning all tour.. Rest of the world.. Look at what you're missing!
The more I listen to this band the more and more they just flatten me. When this album was in the works, I found myself walking a tight rope between love and despair. When I first heard this song I had to wonder who climbed inside of me and ripped this one out Deja vu as they say. The emotion, color and sorrow captured so well. Mr. H wearing his heart on his sleeve. Keep it up guys and hope to see you back in the States soon.
Oh my God.................... This totally destroyed me, I broke down into a crying, ruined heap on the floor (no joke) I wish everyone could hear Marillion in the same way as I do (comment writers aside) There simply aren't any words capable of describing the 'emotional examination' & subsequent 'annihilation' my brain receives from these Maestro's of psyche adjustment..... ''My names Alex, and I've been addicted since 1979''
Grandi Marillion !!!
Just unbelievable. I've been a fan since I discovered them around '.com' and how they manage to continually be the most amazing band in the world is just ridiculous. It's more than music it reaches inside and becomes part of you. 'I want to be someone, someone would want to be.' Genius
I almost spontaneously combusted with excitement at 6:45....it happens every time. One day my guts will be everywhere. Thank you Marillion. Simply amazing!
Many people criticized this album...I love it...the title says it all...it's a really special album and I come back to it often. I love this song and "the Other Half"!
When I was a kid my mum took me to Blackpool to see a singer called Lovelace Watkins..he sang in parts without a microphone, he was incredible, brilliant and the air was charged with such emotion I will never forget that rush/thrill..I was 6..it wasn't until I saw/heard H I felt the same again..I was 38 then..although Watkins was an extraordinary vocalist beyond H's/and anyone I've ever heard since ability the emotion/passion H projects was equally as exhilarating
There is always at least one track on any Marillion album that gets the heart pumping and/or tear ducts flowing and on Somewhere Else this is the one. One more for Happiness is the Road. Inverness for me. Whoah! I remember Marillion being that far north!
top...singing and guitar playing are awesome...Hogarth do not sings only the lyrics, he DEEPLY FEELS the words he says...briilliant.... emotionaly shaking..
I lost touch with Marillion, but got to hear them again thanx to the fantasic Marbles. Now I've seen them play live in Oslo and will be in UK (Cambridge & Cardiff) to catch the Xmas tour. Can't wait for this DVD to be released.
Holy crap, i'm speechless. These guys never quit being on HIGH level music. (Cazzarola, sono senza parole, questi ragazzi non finiscono mai di fare musica ad alti livelli)
The way he feels the music instead of just singing the words is what adds the emotion, anyone can simply sing the words, it takes a true artist to add emotion and meaning
This heartfelt rendition of a great piece of music merely confirms what those of us beholden to this great band have known for years, that the British music industry (and Jonathan 'gnome' Ross) is guilty of abandoning one of its most rounded and talented assets. To borrow from Supertramp - that really has been the Crime of the Century.
Couldn't have said it better mate.. It's amazing seeing him live, so unbelievingly happy about being there in one song, in so much agony the next and then fooling around for a bit. Got to love it!
Could not have said it better myself! Been a fan since the mid-80's and am loyal supporters of both marillion & Fish. And don't forget to mention the incredible talent of Steve Rothery....yet it is difficult if not imopossible to recognize Steve's as well as the remainder of Marillion's incredible musical contributions with virtually no airplay here in America. Sick to death of U2personally....overrated and bland. Marillion on the other hand, underrated and fresh. An honor to be a fan also!
esta es la mejor banda del planeta tuve la oportunidad de verlos en caracas en 1992, es una banda para la historia, la musica se divide en antes y despues de marillion

Hernan Reyes estuve acompañándote allí en El Poliedro.
Absolutely stunning. Saw them in Wolverhampton in June, one of the best bands you will see live. Can't wait for December 2nd, same venue. See you there.
One of the if not the most underrated songs ever by this gargantuan band
Musical perfection ❤
Just when you think you've heard the best Marillion song another one comes along and hits your emotional strings..
Marillion has such amazing emotional dynamics! They go to "eleven", but with so many different points before. So much "bit depth"!
So beautyfull, great band, thanks
Wow. What an ending. 👍🇦🇺

The same for me. My girlfriend, the love of my life back then, left me a view days before this album came out. It helped me a lot.
Somewhere Else is one of the best Marillion works, songs like Somewhere Else and The Wound are absolutely amazing songs.
A master piece
This is one of the best song of this album. Is incredible the creativity of this guys! We love Marillion!!
One of their best ever songs by far
Great music like a beautiful rain.
Oh my God....................

Wow, great performance!
One of my favorite Marillion songs. Do not forget to like it!
One of the few true honest bands left. You can hear it, see it and feel it in their music.
Thank you guys... long may you reign!
The 125th time I've seen it and the ending still gives me goosebumps.
STUNNING!! The best band on the planet.

Great song, great performance .... great video. Flying high, and taking us with them. Marillion better then ever
Awesome band, saw them in June and hopefully will again in December
What a rollercoaster ride, this song has it all, brilliant composition, and typically Marillion.
Amazing band. I'm happy they are coming back to Southamerica in May 2016 :)
Simply huge ! A real "rock star trip" (!). Certainly one of the greatest songs from Marillion alla eras mixed.
Adore this song , none of Marillion songs age, how do they do it. Love them
One of my best Marillions songs from one of my best Marillions albums.
Last 2 minutes of this song are supreme.
Marillion are one in a million!!!
Marillion are the soundtrack of my life.
Thanks very much for your music.
Adorabili!
Was there, great gig.....
Beautifull. Indeed the best band in the world. Can't wait for the Snow Where Else gig in Zoetermeer.
This is music worth paying for
There is always at least one track on any Marillion album that gets the heart pumping and/or tear ducts flowing and on Somewhere Else this is the one.
One more for Happiness is the Road.
Inverness for me.
Whoah! I remember Marillion being that far north!
Oh Yes ! These guys just keep churning them out .. Classic after Classic after Classic ,, God bless Marillion and all who sail in her
As long as I had Marillion, not everyone I loved lived somewhere else. Sitting on a bench in Lapland at 2AM looking at the Gulf of Bothnia, -10C.
From a not so great album, this song is up there amongst the very best of Marillion songs.
this sounds like it could have been the 3rd disc on the classic marbles lp excellent album listen to it closely
top...singing and guitar playing are awesome...Hogarth do not sings only the lyrics, he DEEPLY FEELS the words he says...briilliant.... emotionaly shaking..
One of the best songs I've ever heard.
Mr H❤
Grazie Mille Ragazzi che ci regalate sempre emozioni forti......! ma questa e'veramente da paura.....!!!!

Somewhere else... in the sky... there's music... the vibrations of these sounds, towards the infinite.

Brilliant-I need to get my hands on the lyrics
I can't get enough of this song...it's amazing!
Awesome song from a great album. Steve Hogarth is a star and can really sing. He is the main reason I got into Marillion.

I lost touch with Marillion, but got to hear them again thanx to the fantasic Marbles. Now I've seen them play live in Oslo and will be in UK (Cambridge & Cardiff) to catch the Xmas tour. Can't wait for this DVD to be released.
This is a great live performance showing the skill and outstanding showmen that characterizes Marillion.
My favourite off the album, second to the Wound.
Really blew me away Live. Hope to hear it again in November! :D

Incredible song from amazing band. H what a talent
Phenomenal... brings it all back from the night itself. Roll on December. I'll see you there! :)
How that guitar sings... After countless listens a song can still astound me with some new aspect.. Fantastic!
There are some rythm guitar samples... Great track and what a legendary coda.
Holy crap, i'm speechless. These guys never quit being on HIGH level music.
(Cazzarola, sono senza parole, questi ragazzi non finiscono mai di fare musica ad alti livelli)
yet another fantastic song from them; gems are just everywhere about this band
The way he feels the music instead of just singing the words is what adds the emotion, anyone can simply sing the words, it takes a true artist to add emotion and meaning
Rothery's guitar is awesome on this -- he astounded me 25 years ago and still does.
This song is incredible. Took some time for me to really enjoy it, but now it's right up there along Neverland and the others..
WOW, this is soo much better than the studio release

Have watched this a couple of times and its better each time!! Fabulous stuff and awesome band.
❤Que coisa mais linda❤❤❤❤❤❤
Steve's guitar gently weeps - Master Rothery
I want to watch and listen to this song over and over again. It's so beautiful and emotional!
Couldn't have said it better mate.. It's amazing seeing him live, so unbelievingly happy about being there in one song, in so much agony the next and then fooling around for a bit. Got to love it!

they do this better than anyone, truely emotive and magnificent. Those who say different have no soul and no vision.
This song and video is awesome! The dvd will be fab!
Absolutely stunning. Saw them in Wolverhampton in June, one of the best bands you will see live. Can't wait for December 2nd, same venue.
See you there.
