Is THE DEPARTED Mark's best role? Watch our full chat here. ruclips.net/video/rGzvxOgoLn0/видео.htmlsi=cEgcqlfe_pfm65vW
Nope, I'll go with his performance in Boogie Nights as Dirk Diggler.
Nope. 2 Guns is his best role.
Yeah he probably deserved the Oscar for Boogie Nights.
What's strange with Mark is he tends to hate the movies that get him actual acting recognition. He complained about Boogie Nights too
I don't think he's the smartest guy and he seems like quite an angry, emotional personality.
He's been great in some of his roles, so I'm not hating, but I think those are his issues.
He’s a complete douche. Loves himself. Not the best actor. Not that smart.
@@Ulysses042this is probably why early in his career he was seen as the next Marlon Brando
Dwarf hates marky Mark even thou he put him on the map... Dwarf not a fan of people from Vietnam either.
@@Ulysses042 Are you kidding me ? Are you his psychiatrist? I’m dying reading this ,. He has 4 kids , a wife and you know shit about him ! You’re delusional . Get a grip and a freaking life✌️
You have to give it to wankberg, he is a balanced guy. He has a chip on both shoulders
Who?
Burgerburg
I always thought that role was made for him. Weird. He owned that role.
Too young and short for the role. Wasn’t believable at all.
@@Fakename70He was the only guy who really felt like a Boston a hole.
He was brilliant in the Departed
Foreal. 🔥
That’s a stretch.
I loved his character in the Departed! He made me laugh so many times in it. “What’s a lace curtain MF like you doing in the statees?” lol
You had an accent didn't you!?
“Who put the fucking cameras in this place?”
“Oh, who the fuck are you?”
“I’m the guy who does his job, you must be the other guy.”
Him being pissed off helped give him his best role ever
Mark was fantastic in The Departed, and when he arrives on screen that one last time…how satisfying.
O.K.......Bang.
He definitely was because I hated him
Mark is a poor actor. Sorry.
“Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe f*** yourself.” ~Sgt. Dignam
Randomly one of my favorite movie lines of all-time. I use it way too often when answering my wife tho…
Bro I know. Hahahahahahhahahahahaha. Definition of a Masshole in this movie. I thought he and Baldwin stole every scene they were in. Every scene.
sounds like his ego was bruised when he got "demoted" to dingham but after he realized how well that role was received by the audience he finally embraced his contribution to the movie.
He’s being honest and upfront. Self reflection and realised his ego was out of control. Good on him.
@@user-jg6vu3ut2u actually if you read between the lines, the way he is framing it, ,the words hes using, his body language and tone, hes only accepting that hes not on dicaprio, damon, and nicholson level but not happy about it. he cant argue it and it bothers him.
my point is that it took people to love his character for him to appreciate his and everyone elses work on the film. without that cult recognition and he would still be pissed about it. thats not self reflection in my opinion...
@@andydufresnejr tbh none of these guys is on dicaprio level.
@@Johnny-hq3cdincluding Nicholson?
dignam
Wahlberg should be happy since he was the only actor to come out of it alive.
*character…not actor…lol every actor came out of that shoot alive and well
@@Jake-im8eq lol. Of course.
I’ll take Matt Damon over Mark Wahlberg any day of the week. Casting made the right decision
Walhburg is more based
Damon is a panty waste liberal
I assumed the role would have been Leo's, and his casting in that role would have been better (provided Damon stayed in the same role). Obviously no studio is ever gonna turn down Leo though lol.
i take Mark anyday
I personally feel like you can’t loose with whoever you choose but mark did get the Oscar nom
@@terrellgrant1570 Oscars are joke, an award for art is meaningless imo
Should’ve asked him about The Happening🤣🤣🤣
"its Boston, its gangster shit, you dont see too many of those movies" Lmao what
They really don't have a lot of Boston gangster flicks.
Good interview. Loved Wahlberg in "The Departed."
the only role I liked him in was The Departed, everything else I'm not a fan of, he lacks on screen charisma imo. I think part of it is that he doesn't come across as authentic, but in Departed he did strangely.
Likely because he’s from Boston
Watch boogie nights
He was phenomenal in Boogie Nights, especially the drug deal “gone bad” scene. He was just starting out acting back then too!
Scorcese cast the movie with some actors who were from Southy. You can't beat that kind of authenticity. It's a superb movie.
Mark is just one of those alpha male confrontational types but so are a lot of lead male actors. He’s brought something unique to several roles from within those confines and that’s saying something. He was great as Dingham and as in real life often it’s the assholes who don’t want to curry favor who end up meeting out the justice. A very nice career as he accomplished the goal which is to entertain.
dignam
It wasn't his only acting Oscar nomination. He was nominated for "The Fighter."
he's better at comedy than serious. his performance in the other guys is one of the best comedy performances i've seen.
“Captain I’m a peacock you gotta let me fly!!!”
Hey, he was great in the Departed.
I like both Mark and Donnie Wahlburg! They both have their own personalities, but I enjoy their movies and TV shows.
It’s funny that he has dirk diggler doing interview vibes
host really s'ing the d
I can watch Mark Wahlberg in departed anytime of the week Mark nailed his roles in the departed. Matt Damon was alright, DiCaprio was wild, Jack Nicholson was the hilarious role. Wahlberg was like an intimidating badass in The Departed bro had a belligerent role and went crazy with Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio. All these guys were so great in the Departed
I honestly don’t think he’ll ever have to worry about winning an Oscar. He doesn’t have a lot of range as an actor, but the movies he’s in _generally_ do very well. Boogie Nights, The Perfect Storm, The Fighter and Father Stu I thought was some of his best work.
I always wondered why he was the only character whose hair continued to get longer throughout the movie, didn't know it was because of Invincible. I thought it was to show the passage of time. It's longer in the scene when DiCaprio says, "It's been a year, I've had enough of this." Then, it's much longer in the final scene when he shows up to kill Damon and sneaks out incognito, which also made sense.
Fear was his best role and Renaissance man was good his first acting movie job.
I remember his first role being in a USA Up All Night movie called The Substitute with Amanda Danahoe. He was terrible! He came a long way.
Whatever the drama and however his attitude is, I think he owned every scene he was in that movie!
That was one the few times Mark actually gave a good performance in a movie.
Now you know how Bert felt
So assume originally meant be Damon role?
I think it was Leo’s part
@@jerrymeehan3298 interesting. Well you can't beat Leo, sorry Mark ha.
@@jerrymeehan3298and the common joke about Damon and Wahlberg is they look similar even most people have a hard time distinguished between two of them,
Imagined a movie where those two becoming a rivals 😂
@@gman0155 He's very overrated imo
He would have been perfect for the Leo part. But I can't see that ever being a consideration.
The one time he legitimately acted. Got an oscar nomination for it too. Some people are just too lucky
i mean my only recovery from a bad step 1 score was doing well in clinicals so.... no.
I need to know what watch he’s wearing
The Happening is Mark's best movie.
He will never be nominted again😅
He’s awesome in the movie.
But it was meant for Denis Leary who couldn’t do it because he was doing Rescue Me at the time.
Goddamn Leary would have been PERFECT for that character!!!
“I’m the guy who does his job, you must be the other guy.”
Gotta hand it to the dude, he went from rapper to pornstar to legitimate actor!
Pornstar?
Legitimate actor?????lol
@@thomasfreer580You’re just jealous 😂
What role was Mark supposed to play before taking on Dignam?
Mark has football player legs
His best movie yet.
What happened to the funky bunch
That role was amazing.
When he kills Matt Damon, i wasn't expecting it; i was expecting Matt Damon to get away with it. When he wipes him out, i went : " Fuck yeah!".
His character was bad ass thank god for Mark Wahlberg
there won’t be the other guy without the departed
I have no doubt he’s surrounded by nobody but people who tell him he’s always right. 😄
Mark is a Lukewarm actor. His best performance was prolly “fear” and that’s pushing it.
So many comments here are about him having no range 😂
Wahlberg and Cena look like they can be brothers😂😂😂
Only guy to make working with Scorsese sound like a chore. Man child.
Wahlberg brought the character to life.
He was hilarious in THE DEPARTED. If anything, it's an underrated movie.
They look alike and they got his role mixed up
fym he didn't get paid for that movie????
I guess he meant he did not get paid on time.
What he means is he did not get paid a lot relatively. It something actors say when they feel they’re underpaid . Make sense when it sounds like he was originally gonna play Matt Damon part which would have been a substantial pay increase in comparison to supporting role he played . On top of that it’s a big ensemble cast that has to pay big chunks to everyone.
I don’t know Mark but I’m definitely going to comment on him as a person. But wait… that would make me a douche😬
When you’ve been famous most of your life like he has you’re completely Jaded.
The world needs plenty of Bahhhtendas!!
he got nominated for an Oscar..
He was great in the departed. Everything else.....aaà
Why does he look younger than he did 10 years ago ?!?!
Is dude forgetting how unbelievable it is that he even landed in a Scorsese movie at all? His career survived the Funky Bunch, a hate crime, The Happening, and straight to DVD junk like Shooter. The man's career dodges more bullets than fucking Neo. I know he's not ungrateful for the role, but he's kinda lucky he was casted higher than Baldwin honestly 😅
Love mark wahlberg great actor
I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy
Scorsese took the piss out of Marky Mark with his mooky hairstyle & character in the Departed.
''i wanna win'', thats why he walked out of the super bowl when it was 28-3
He's such an alpha male, he's so tough.
Hey, Marks a competitive guy, I get it, I grew up with competitive brothers in a competitive environment too.
DiCaprio was deff better for that role though.
I was the one thousandth like!
Strange camera angle - or are his thighs wider than his whole torso? 😂😂
My favorite Scorsese film! Along with- Cape Fear, and Raging Bull.
Love cape fear. the guy made too many great movies. goodfellas, casino, shutter island, taxi driver
Don't tell me Mark is a methody actor!!!!
Afuera con esa bullshita 👋
Nah Dignam was perfect for Mark.
And this guys thinks he would have prevented 9/11 😅
It's no secret that you have to have a huge ego to make it in Hollywood. These people are all delusional.
Wahlberg would have prevented the Titanic sinking if he was captain
😂😂😂 oh shit
Johnny Cash's voice has more range than Mark's acting.
Dam 😅😅😅
You want him to chop me up and feed me to the poor?? Yea that'll stick
Why does he sound like Christopher Walken ?
He should have done some Dignam.
Infernal Affairs is still the superior film. Glad Marty won an Oscar, but it shouldn't have been for this movie. He made much better films before and after The Departed.
The departed is an absolute banger!
I will defend him here. He’s done some good films. There’s a lot worse actors out there.
This was before he became born again so we must give him some grace.
If cast in the right part (like the departed) MW is great.... but your in a film with legit acting stars.... shut up, keep your shirt on , do your job 👍
The Departed is the only movie he was amazing in. He's either good, mediocre or bad in anything else.
Such an unlikeable intense dude
reading between the lines, i hear greed underlying much of what motivates marky mark. he's clearly an artist 2nd...or maybe 3rd....
Wahlberg shou'dve gotten DiCaprio's role. So tired of fake Boston accents!
You’re working for Scorsese, why wouldn’t you just cut your hair?
Fake to the bone
Matt Damon is 1000000% better of an actor than Marky Mark. Hes a sub par actor. The departed is one of his only good movies. Invincible was awful, the happening was awful, four brothers was barely ok and not because of him.
I really wish want scene when you kiss with mark🤫😁
I'll tell you when else he didn't have a great attitude: when he was perpetrating racially motivated assaults!
He literally plays the same character in every movie. He has one acting style. I can't watch him.
Word. I think his only good role is The Departed and he’s still pretty much himself lol But it works for that character
He was pretty good in Lovely Bones.
Now that I have told you, you can never unsee it.
Only things he’s real good in are the films, “The Basketball Diaries” and “BoogieNights”
I thought he was great in The Fighter.
Some arrogant ego on this guy, but at least he's opening up. I think due to the box office failure of his past few films, he realizes either he somehow does something, or his career is going down the crapper.
Time for Four Brothers 2 and Lone Survivor 2.
It’d be 3 brothers now 🥴
Oooh what a chocker..
Mark is the type of guy who thinks hes all that.
So obviously when hes surrounded by alot of big talented actors, hes gonna show all his arrogance because they dont recognize him.
He litteraly have 2 characters he can play.
The one in Ted and the one in Shooter. Thats his range.
Most actors would say comedy is the hardest thing you can do, Robert deniro is an outstanding actor who has never made me laugh once but mark had people in stitches in Ted, he may not have range but he's got talent.
Im the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy.
Wtf is this obsession u have in USA with 10 dollars Starbucks coffee?
Maybe you should travel more, it's not only a US thing. It's the same in Canada, Australia, China and etc.
@@challenger516 I have travelled and lived to more than 20 countries . With your sentence you confirm what a marketing victim you are, paying for trans-fat full of sugar-coffee just for flexing.
obesity 😂
Hes literally just reading a sceipt in every movie. Same vooce same tone. He sdoesnt even actbhe literally just reads the script
Hey remember when this guy beat up two different people in admitted racist assaults and we just ignore it
Mark doesn’t like Asians.
He's a terrible actor.
It didn’t work out in the end. The Departed sucked dick. Terrible film.
