Palantir kind of checks all the boxes. Founder led, controversial CEO, disruptive, newsworthy yet secretive lol Crowdstrike sort of fits the same mould. Whereas geopolitics, warfare & crime was once primarily fought with hardware now it’s largely software and you can consider data to be bullets, missiles or a combat strike. Seems to me that enterprise LLMs will lilkely sort out the ontology itself. Can pltr create enterprise bridges to the data grid faster than a local LLM?
One issue with Enterprise LLMs (fine-tuned or custom trained) is it's very resource-intensive every time you need to add new data to the model. It's great for a one-time loading of industry vocab / very standardized processes, but it's not great for any data that changes on a regular basis. I think in stage 1, enterprises (and especially the government) will take a while to create their own LLMs. But even in stage 2, I see value in Palantir's ontology for any data that is updated more than ~once per quarter
