What a dream news assignment for this reporter! Jeremy is a true backcountry icon. Just spotting him on Shasta or somewhere in the Sierras always elevates the day...
I never make comments online but I have to on this video. I was very pleased with what he said at the end about the change in society today. Paraphrased, "People are more excited about the new app they have for their phones than taking a walk in the woods. Thats not a good thing." That thought stuck with me today and it made me proud that I don't have a smart phone AND I love to be adventurous and take a good 'walkabout'. I have seriously considered getting some snowshoes and doing this same thing in some of the neighboring mountains around me here in SE and Northern Idaho. Except this winter. Enormous lack of white, delicious precipitation this year.
Jeremy jones is one of my favorites not only cause of all he does.. but hes goofy! finally a really good snowboarder who is goofy. Honestly until I found him I was a little discouraged cause I never saw good goofy riders on tv and even thought about making myself ride regular. You're awesome dude keep up the good work
Actually, part of what makes Jeremy Jones so awesome is that he doesn't use helicopters now. He hikes for weeks into the back country to get his shots. It's part of his mission to raise awareness of environmental issues. His most recent film trilogy, Deeper, Further, Higher is heli-free.
That is so badass! Hiking your ass off for two weeks to get what you came for and all the while making one hell of a statement! Use your body to move, seek discomfort, it helps both us and the planet.
Terje Haakonsen, while an amazing snowboarder, is not a big player in the splitboarding scene. Check out his "part" in Further (Jeremy's most recent film) and you'll see what I mean. He is crazy talented, though.
If it wasn't for Jeremy I would of never have got into snowboarding! Young black guy from DC snowboarding.. It's unheard of lol! Love this dude!!

So glad he is involved in the sport, A king, a fore father, a man.

This man is such an inspiration to me, would love to meet him!
This guys needs way more cred! JJ's a demigod
Best news report ever
He made split boarding popular, not possible. Split boarding was a low key sport for 20 years, then Jeremy showed up with helicopters to film him.
His daughter was in my class for 2 years in elementary school.
i also knew their family pretty well
Oh do you
That caption, "Jeremy Jones, Professional snowboarder" - should read "Jeremy Jones, Demigod"
At 3:00 , Notice the difference between their walking style, the reporter guy lifts his leg as you normally do. Jones, sliding his. Reporter = newbie
lol i noticed that too, got me tilted
Question: is "this guy" at 1:04 the newscaster himself?
Brilliant anchorman.
He just inspired me .....
im close to getting the Jones mt twin. Have you tried it?
big ups to the reporter for going along
1:37...unreal.
Bestest !
If your going to split a snowboard, wouldn’t it be more sensible, time efficient, cheaper and easier just to rent/buy skis?
definitely not.that feeling of glide you get riding a snowboard in those slopes with so much powder is something no skis will ever give you
I´ll check it out
I saw him at my local skatepark and the strange thing is, he was riding a bike.
This is awesome; however, there is no irrefutable evidence that the earth is growing warmer.
Yes there is...we are more sure climate change is real than that cigarettes cause cancer.
Nice. Thats how it should be done. Earn your turn.
