I think it's entirely possible that you're correct and that she is not necessarily a cooperating witness but a hostile witness for the state. It's also possible that since she's in court against her ex regarding her kids that she had no self control and just had to look into what her ex had testified to in regards to herself for her own personal case. Until you've been involved in a contentious court case (especially over your kids), it's hard to understand how much that can consume your thoughts and life.

And if I were Ian’s ex wife I would NEVER allow him to see his kids with just him and Melanie . His initial reaction was correct, unfortunately he is ignoring it . If Lori is supposed to be so in love with Chad why does it sound like he is the new fall guy. I don't get how this defense tactic would work out if Lori was the one collecting multiple checks from SSA. I think Lori used this religion to figure out who she could manipulate.I also think Chad was also going to end up eventually on Lori's lists of being disposable. Lori's huge smile on marriage photos with Chad to me was not genuine. I think Lori's neice was the only one that wasn't being manipulated cause she was in on the whole thing with Lori.

Leah: What do you think is the responsibility of a defense attorney? The circumstantial evidence of guilt in the Casey Anthony case, was stronger than this case. Yet consider the outcome. So when defense can't refute the evidence, that attorney will suggest someone else committed the crime, or that someone else is more responsible for the crime than the defendant.
The defense obligation is to Lori only, not Chad. Lori, facing life in prison, will not object to any strategy that will get her an acquittal OR a reduced sentence.
Remember, attorneys are officers of the court, but no attorney is required to raise their right hand and swear to tell or present "the whole truth and nothing but the truth."
Leah, learn about court proceedings, the law, grand juries, responsibility or duty of prosecuter and defense attorney, and rules of evidence, before you write anything.
I suspect you are unaware that only the prosecuter presents their case to the grand jury. The defense cannot present anything to the grand jury. So a grand jury's decision to indict or not, is based soley on what the prosecuter presents.

I've never been a part of grand jury proceedings so I'm not sure what questions were asked of Barrantarrio during that or what statements she gave free of questioning, but I think it was a disservice to all that the prosecution wasn't allowed to be the final questioner of this witness in today's trial. I was intensely curious as to what the prosecution would ask and how the witness would answer whatever question(s) were asked of her. And I don't recall seeing her make statements in any pretrial setting but I guess I could have missed that...however I have been following this case since before the children were found on Daybell's property.
Something about having extreme religious views to the point you are able to smile when your children are missing/dead has held my interest in this case all along. I don't agree with what the defense is trying to pull here by trying to place all the blame on Chad. I think that both of them egged each other on and their union made both more volatile. I think that before they met each other they both had some toxic views and beliefs that centered on their religious beliefs. I believe their union fueled each other in equal (and negative) ways and created a pair (or trio if you include Alex) of dangerous serial killers, even if it was birthed as a result of cult beliefs. I fully believe based on what I've learned that they had a grand goal of taking out all "zombies" and if they could have gotten away with it. And I believe they would have deluded themselves into believing they had murdered no person. Think of it as similar the 3rd Blade movie where murdering vampire pets who were human (but beholden to their vampire masters) was of no consequence to the character of Blade and his allies.
I hope I find Ian's recordings to be far more tolerable to that horrid podcast that was played in the trial on Tuesday. Fingers crossed that I don't get totally aggravated by these recordings too. My interest in this case has only increased with time and hasn't dwindled at all.

Nate no one is reporting on psychic Rev Donna. Sadly,Including you. Why, LDS?! I know that the church, court and community are all heavily involved. But she knew all that happened to Tylee and JJ 6 months before LE did. She helped them out, and then they removed her from the case. My guess was all the pressure from the LDS church. Is this why you haven’t reported about this to?! It’s a huge deal. She was 💯 accurate and dead on. In help solving this case. And everyone knows and acts like she was never involved. She was and they used her to get search warrants and other info. And to just act like she hadn’t been involved is ridiculous. I know the church is “forcing” everyone to keep quiet. But that’s insane and dangerous to cover up. These are facts in the case and it leaves a lot out about what happened in this case. It also shows that Lori was the ringleader in wanting her kids dead. And she was participating in the Murders. Not just knowing and standing by. Huge difference. Everything done in the dark, always comes out in the light. I get the psychic angle, that can make people uncomfortable. But that’s not the point here. She was.💯 accurate before any information came out. And has solved many other murders as well. She’s not some crackpot, on the Internet. She deserves the respect and recognition, for how she helped in solving this case. I truly hope that you do the right thing and report on this. Journalist are supposed to report facts, whether they like it or not. And those are the facts. A huge part of this case is missing. The jury needs to know the truth about this. It’s truly sad. JS! 🙏

District Attorney Blake: “When Lori talked to you about these things were you open to hearing them?”
    Ian Pawlowski: “Yes.”
District Attorney Blake: “And why was that?”
Ian Pawlowski: “I, so i, I’m religious. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and a large part of our belief is faith in revelation, and that the church is a living thing, it’s not done progressing, it’s not done growing. Um, and so, part of that is you have to maintain an open mind when new things come, so if I was going to learn something new it would be, either be, through one of the Lord’s servants or I would receive the revelation directly.”
Faith in revelation? I thought it Jesus said to have faith in Him?and Him alone.
Open to new revelation? I thought the Bible says that book is now closed.
Learn something new from one of the Lord’s servants? I thought the Bible warned against trusting revelations from men and trust only in the Word of God…the Holy Bible.
Yes, I am certain, sure and assured that Jesus and the Bible say those things. And that is why I know the LDS/Mormon church is a blasphemous, heretical cult and should be torn down and condemned as such.
Lord, Jesus, the One True and ONLY God, creator of heaven and earth, and all that is within it. I pray you would shut the doors on this dangerous and blasphemous church and save the people within it by the power of YOUR revelation and Word, and through your sacrificial, atonement for the sins of mankind on the Cross at Calvary. In your precious and holy name I pray. Amen.
