FACTS are TESLA has a FIRM order from FRITO LAY for 15 SEMI and Tesla is building them in a TENT at Gigafactory 1 Nevada and TESLA is even building NEXT Generation MEGACHARGERS to power the SEMI ordered. TESLA semi has the LOWEST Drag of a PRODUCTION Semi , it has a VERY Long range of over 625+ Miles using 4680 HIGH Nickel cells.
I agree. Hydrogen is a better fit for long haul trucking than BEV. The problems with BEV are: limited range, battery weight, hours of recharging time, and battery degradation. None of these are good for long haul trucking, and hydrogen technology has none of them. They don't have to have a hydrogen refueling station on every street corner, all they need to do is to get hydrogen to the long haul truckers. And that is very doable.
@@jcd-k2s So, I would assume that any necessary tank replacement would be covered by the Nikola service contract for each HFC/BEV truck. Of course, that, along with all other costs, would need to be checked by fleet owners before taking out a contract. It certainly doesn’t seem to present any real issue and no doubt the H2 tanks will become even more reliable over time.

So somehow you're trying to convince me that producing hydrogen, storing it and transporting it is a more viable solution than sending electricity to a battery. Hydrogen must be produced through electrolysis, it must be safely stored (highly volatile), it must be transported from the production facility to the to the stations, it must be loaded in the vehicle so it can be turned into electricity by hydrogen fuel cells (which contain components that are very expensive). Isn't it more feasible to charge a battery and eliminate about three steps. Batteries may be heavy but I guess hydrogen fuel cells and the hydrogen tank will have a considerate weight too. And when you compare an electric truck with an ICE truck I think the batteries weight can only be a little bit higher since there's no need for a HUGE diesel engine and transmission. When it comes to Nikola, I lost the first day I invested in it since the report came out exactly the day after. Yes, Hindenburg might be scum but they're also a necessary evil. If not these scammers and pump and dumpers would be a able to run freely scamming people. Trevor's answer to the report was a disgrace and as soon as I read his tweet I knew these were the words of a con artist. You don't defend yourself from these types of accusations by saying people are trying to destroy you. You defend yourself by presenting facts, which he didn't. Anyways, good luck to you all, but I, since researching more about hydrogen technology and being a victim of a scam wouldn't put two cents on Nikola.
I do agree with you, that I do not think batteries is the way to go with Trucks. People like Elon Musk are a lot smarter than me, so I maybe wrong. Having worked in the Trucking industry for many years, I understand the obsession that freight companies have regarding less vehicle weight (or tare weight), the more freight weight they can carry. This is why I totally agree with Sandy Munro on this point. The excellent point you raised, regarding Trucks going from point A to B to C to A, is a point that people outside shipping seem to completely misunderstand. So much of the industry runs on routes, 70% to 80% of the time the vehicle end up back in the same places. So if you have a Hydrogen making plant where these trucks end up, I know making Hydrogen may not be extremely efficient, but at least your not running up more cost shipping fuel across the country. I believe this is the way to go, but the future always seems throws us curve balls.
A good attempt to put a positive spin on a loser situation. But did not address the issues of hydrogen cost and availability. There will be a need to make a huge investment in constructing hydrogen fuel stations. Producing the fuel can cost more than buying diesel. Finally, no one is mentioning the highly complex and expensive to maintain fuel cell technology. It worked fine for Apollo and Space Shuttle but how on earth (pun intended) can it be practical for the trucking industry? The right approach is high density batteries. With due respect to Sandy Monroe, on this one he may be wrong.
Long haul trucking should be replaced by electric freight rail: overhead wires instead of batteries. Short distance trucking can use battery pack swapping.
Well, I'm new here and I see this is quite a Nikola fan site. I do not hate Nikola, but I do count myself as a Tesla fan. I just don't think Nikola has a viable business plan. I view Nikola the same as I view Lordstown or Workhouse. Both very good trucks, but not likely to succeed. If they had managed to get a good following and decent contracts in past years, they could be in good shape now, but since Ford has announced the F-150 Lightning to be on the market next year their chances are minimal. Ford has the reputation and the following. They have an extensive dealership network. Ford has the resources to bring out the Lightning at a price point to make a profit. Lordstown and Workhorse are small, to not have Ford's buying power with suppliers and ultimately cannot compete. European cab-over design is not popular in USA, I heard it is primarily because of ride comfort, USA trucks are much longer and the longer wheelbase makes for a much smoother ride. The European cab-over is designed to be short because of European laws (now changed) that limited overall truck-trailer length as apposed to USA trailer length only. Nikola had the right idea with the Nikola One and Two, but not the Tre. The Nikola Tre will be hitting the market at the same time as the Tesla Semi, which looks nicer, will be more comfortable, and Tesla is now a known quantity with a good reputation. The Nikola Tre will be priced the same as the Tesla Semi 300. It will have the same range, but has a larger battery pack because it is less efficient. This means lower payload and higher cost to charge the battery pack. Why would a trucker choose the Nikola Tre over the Tesla Semi? Why would a trucker choose the Workhorse over Ford F-150 Lightning?
*LOI for 4 trucks. Not sure how that backs them into a $5.5B valuation? Jeff Ubben has long stated that the real value of $NKLA is in the hydrogen network they planned to build with a "major partner". Agreed the Nikola has kept quiet to not over promise and under deliver, but the other side to that argument is that there is not much to deliver.
Hydrogen is a waste of time. It costs too much. Nikola doesn't have the money to develop it. Nikola can't make any money on electric trucks either. They have no technology or advanced manufacturing process. They are buying others technology and manufacturing and expecting to resell it and somehow make a profit. Nikola = Theranos!
The moment people start saying "I don't think nikola can compete with tesla" I literally tune them out out, cuz of the sheer ignorance and complete lack of any in depth understanding of the fundamentals and market of each company.

Short selling is evil, IMO, but Milton made it worse by lying. If he kept his mouth shut, they could have entered the semi truck market appropriately and their stock price would be rising right about now, when they are close to production. I don't agree with Sandy on Hydrogen. It doesn't make sense to waste all that energy on Semi trucks. Will they ask taxpayers to subsidize it? They need 3x more energy than battery electric vehicles.... Ships, planes and trains are much better candidates for fuel cells.
Especially planes cause weight is such a huge issue, anywhere where weight & profit intermingle. Semi trucks tho are weight sensitive, more so the larger long haul class 8, and less refueling time also. If weight & time was not issue for fleet companies, then pure EV Semi would make more sense. I have little invested in Nikola but more money in Hyliion. The RNG generator together with smaller battery is a brilliant idea for fleet companies to be more green & same time generate profit. HYliion should be making profit sooner than Nikola or Tesla (in regards to Tesla Semi). HYLN stock is very beaten down
@@sevencostanza3931 Semi truck weight limit was set arbitrarily. They could always change the law for ultra-efficient zero emissions trucks. Musk said in 2019 that they are about 1 Tonne heavier than Diesel for the 500 mile variant with 30 minute charging. That is only 3% of 80K pounds ... I don't think any logistics company will have a second thought about it, considering the ultra-low operating cost. 3% less cargo weight is a rounding error. Hydrogen fuel cells need lots of maintenance and 3x more energy, I don't know why anybody would think they are a good idea for land transport.
@@Poxenium They are not going to change restrictions on weight for Semi trucks. It doesn’t matter if the truck is zero emissions. The weight limits are in place for safety reasons. It is harder to control a heavier vehicle. This is why most states require a special license to drive them. They are harder to stop bc they are heavier, they are harder to maneuver, in part because they are heavier. When a heavier vehicle gets into a crash it does far more damage to other vehicles potentially than a lighter weight vehicle would. Increasing the weight limit on Semi trucks would be dangerous. Also I’ll believe Elon’s claim that the Tesla Semi is only one ton heavier than a diesel truck when I see it. Elon is known to exaggerate … he also claimed the Tesla Semi would come out in 2019 and it’s still not here.
@@Poxenium Weight limit based on what bridges & road asphalt can handle without damage. Have a civil engineer friend who works for DOT in WA state, he said nothing is arbitrary, there is physics reasons for weight limits. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Bridge_Gross_Weight_Formula There is also issue with Semi being able to break, heavier semi needs bigger braking system+ more cost. More enhanced suspension system which = more cost. You do not get something for nothing when adding weight. It would be good for you to take some engineering & economics classes to understand this concept along with chemistry/thermodynamics/electrical courses to understand battery tech. & the physics of why lithium & rare earth metals have limitations with battery tech. You cannot break the law of thermodynamics. Musk said something in 2019, I will believe it when I see it. Musk I noticed said many things that either never happen or they are a hyped up once real product comes to public. Otherwise for the PRESENT---Hyliion has far superior product for class 8 semi compared with EV's semi's from MACK, ECascadia, freighliner, Volvo----all of these companies already have a working Semi EV prototypes that are being tested, Mack even has orders already for their trucks to be used as refuse.
Excellent video bear! Way good! Loved the analysis! People are just way to glued to the past with Milton and nikola and unfortunately they are blinded to the what nikola is now. They are driven and on fire to succeed. Huge progress is gonna be rolling out of nikola this next year and those willing to buy now are gonna be the ones that look back in awe of why they didn't buy more. Nikola will only stay below $20 for the next few months and after that, you will only look back with fond memories of those times you were able to pick up this company for $15 a share. I'm sitting at around $13 avg..i picked up a crap load in the $10. This and hyliion are my biggest EV plays as I privately believe commercial trucking is the best untapped market for ev and hydro right now
Nice to see you have a voice. Totally agree with you on diesel. Whoever said diesels don’t require maintenance either sold them before needing massive repairs or never owned one at all. I agree with you about the haters. As an investor in Nikola it has been challenging to hang in there this year with the parsimonious doling out of information from Nikola in lieu of the mess Trevor made out of their reputation with his words and actions. When you attack a company for sport you are not only hurting the investors you are hurting the employees that work there to.There is one RUclipsr in particular who takes great pride in tearing down Nikola. This RUclipsrs conjecture about how Tesla will be a raving success in the commercial truck segment because battery technology is superior to hydrogen really revealed his lack of knowledge about the trucking industry. Battery operated delivery trucks will be great for local delivery where the trucks travel less than 200 miles daily. Hydrogen trucks however have a much greater range ( approximately 800 miles ) and can be refueled very similarly to propane tanks. There is no need to exchange fuel cells as the time to fuel hydrogen fuel cells is comparable to diesel. Additionally, certain Pilot Truck Stops on the west coast have brand new hydrogen islands waiting to be used. Additionally, Toyota has the Mirai passenger vehicle as well as a hydrogen tractor in development. Hyundai also has some commercial hydrogen trucks in the advanced stages of prototyping. And with the infrastructure bill that will probably get passed eventually there is going to be a lot of money funneled into hydrogen development. This thing is happening. One other thing is under Nikolas new executive management I believe they are more focused than ever. Under Miltons tenure Nikola was like a shotgun blast of ideas. Focusing on a singular segment is very smart. But they need to start earning money soon.

Well said Bear. Especially appreciated your point about Hindenburg. Nikola's overpromising in the past via Milton was flawed. However I think they have some highly viable products and I'm looking forward to watching them hopefully succeed. Hindenburg didn't write that hit piece because they were "concerned" about Nikola investors. They wrote it to make some quick dirty cash. I remember well what people were saying about Tesla back in summer 2019. Haters don't contribute much to society.
Regarding haters... "A person can only give away to others what they have inside of themselves" A person that hates, it's what's inside of them, they hate themselves and that is all they have to give to others. I ignore them, but do find them quite comical at times.
It’s not coming from a place of “hate” when a company (Nikola Motors) gives you the impression that their semi-truck prototype is running under its own power, when in reality (proven) it is coasting down a hill! These aren’t haters, they are people reacting to being lied to. As any normal person would. You investors are going to get burned (further) while Trevor Milton and his team make off with your dollars. Please rely on more than this youtube channel for investment advice. Best wishes.

Scammers
Nikola's huge new assembly plant nearing completion, and you write 'scammers'. If this was Facebook, I'd click the laugh selection. Their huge new plant is also a scam? I doubt you will reply to this because you have nothing.
@@HeRacesTheSun huge? Are you crazy in the head man? It's smaller than my local supermarket... and I have built more vehicles myself than Nikola ever.
@@marcogpt New Nikola plant 1 million square feet. Please post pics or a link to your more than 1 million square foot 'local supermarket' As I predicted, you have nothing, but thanks for the laugh with your nonsense nothing reply.
@@HeRacesTheSun phase 1 is 75000 foot building. Nikola will be chapter 11 before phase 2 expansion. You have been scammed
@@marcogpt You are still here embarrassing & making a further fool of yourself? Stick to playing with toy trucks in your driveway, or likely your parents driveway. And don't post 'foot' numbers that are wrong and way beyond your math & comprehension abilities. Now, go get that toy truck and push it down mommy & daddies driveway again... zoom!
Have a civil engineer friend who works for DOT in WA state, he said nothing is arbitrary, there is physics reasons for weight limits.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Bridge_Gross_Weight_Formula
There is also issue with Semi being able to break, heavier semi needs bigger braking system+ more cost.
@@sevencostanza3931 You sure typed a lot of words, without contradicting anything a said. Maybe you should take logic classes. 👍
This and hyliion are my biggest EV plays as I privately believe commercial trucking is the best untapped market for ev and hydro right now
Same here I also invested in both Nkla and Hyln. I'm here for the long haul.

Dear, Bear. Sir. I only solute to the rank but I think you deserve it. Thank you very much. Let`s beat those haters and naysayers.
The whole lithium and Bolivia issue has really turned me away from Elon and Tesla, hoping for the best for Nikola
It is going to be a real usa company that will succeed 🇲🇦🇨🇵🇺🇸
A real waporvare company
Well said, congrats to this bonus video Mr.Bear👍 from a German investor 😀
Navistar, Daimler/Volvo, Stellantis and a startup Triton-EV are also working on fuel cell trucks.
Nicola investors are Tesla short sellers 😄😄 Whole Hydrogen truck is scam.
Contact me. It’s crazy. Huge story about Jesse S and cronies. Looking for someone to break it. Recordings, videos, of him. JS is a bad bad man. They r attempting the same thing in aerospace as we speak.

You bet!
It shouldn’t be an amazing thing that someone from Nicola comes and looks at the factory surely that is bog standard
Hydrogen canister swapping will solve a lot of problems. Consumer Plugin Fuel Cell is the best combo.
well done I like how you put it together, soon or later truth would come to float
If we enjoy the silence....lets keep it that way!
def think something is in the works and a redemption soon.
Too bad the company doesn’t seem to care about sharing its “secrets”. Has anyone seen inside this “factory”?
This is spot on!
5:27 but the other things are what is going to make hydrogen fueling stations economically viable
Which is why Nikola is vaporware
Regarding haters... "A person can only give away to others what they have inside of themselves" A person that hates, it's what's inside of them, they hate themselves and that is all they have to give to others. I ignore them, but do find them quite comical at times.
That is so touchy feely. Makes me feel all warm inside.
It’s not coming from a place of “hate” when a company (Nikola Motors) gives you the impression that their semi-truck prototype is running under its own power, when in reality (proven) it is coasting down a hill! These aren’t haters, they are people reacting to being lied to. As any normal person would. Apart from being able to construct the shell of a factory with investors money and paying their executives handsomely, with the same money, this company has produced nothing. You investors are going to get burned (further) while Trevor Milton and his team make off with your dollars. Please rely on more than this youtube channel for investment advice. Best wishes.
@@gwarlow This is what I 'rely on' Their business model and many other things. And very important; NKLA is nearing completion of their huge new assembly plant in Arizona. I've been there, it's something very special. There is almost a $billion that outside investors have put into Nikola, and that says a lot also.
@@gwarlow You don't even know the correct name of the company! It's not Nikola Motors, it's Nikola Corp. That deceptive video is in the past, and Trevor Milton is also in the past.
