I have the skywatcher 250 P SYNSCAN DOD, comes with 10 and 25nm. Per, your. recommendation, I purchased the Celestron starter kit for $200. Hope this gets me on track? I was thinking maybe a quality zoom, or Barlow would have led me better? I'll find out in the comming days? I'm in bortle 9 Milwaukee. Nebula, not great, ring is fuzzy patch😅. Planets or moon right now.
Boy, was the recommendation to buy a Celestron eyepiece kit a BAD idea! Compared to the 10mm and 25mm eyepieces Skywatcher provided with my 250P, the Celestrons are terrible 😢 Blurry soft, terrible quality. A major brand like Celestron should be ashamed of selling this crap. The inconvenience of a return is stressful and costs time and gasoline.
After a lot of testing I sold everything and settled on a SkyRover 30mm, MaxVision 11mm, AngelEyes 14mm and a SVBony Zoom SV191. Also a Barlow 2x and 3x get a lot of use on the planets and planetary nebulas.
How good is the SkyRover 30mm? Stuff from Aliexpress takes about a month. It's a pain to return. If I'm not happy, I probably will eat the cost. So .... I have a 4,7,9,11 Televue 6 neglar set. To me, extremely sharp.
The case has a Pentax XW 40, 30, 20, 10, 7, 5 and 3.5mm plus a 2" diagonal. I use these on a wide range of telescopes but mostly the refractors. -Kevin
@@SkyWatcherUSA Thanks for the details Kevin. I recently acquired 3 Pentax XL eyepieces (40, 21, and 5.2mm) and have been enjoying them all so I was wondering which ones you had. Nice collection!
NANUK cases are incredible! Super latches that are easy to use, but can't open unless you want to. Huge variety. BH photo has them on sale frequently. I have Apache, Pelican. NANUK put them to shame. I have a 33x21x13 wheeled case I got on sale for $130! Normally $459. I've seen it for $240 at best since. Prices generally in line with Pelican.
Hi, thanks for this video, most useful. I have no other way of directly contacting you and would ask if in the future you review the plate solving feature in Synscan Pro v2.5.2 that has attracted interest on the UK based Stargazers Lounge. Thank you in anticipation.
The Plate solving feature is very new and not quite complete yet. It is a beta addition that will likely become better supported as time goes on. The engineers have a lot of plans for the app. and it will only become more advance as time goes on. We will see about finding more documentation on this.
I am new to astrophotograhy and eager to learn the basics. Joined a club but have not been able to get support. I attended my first star party but not of the members showed up to setup rigs and talk shop. Do not have a regular relation with any star gamers an am working to encourage someone I know to get interested. You mentioned you are in AZ and so am I. If you can recommend how I might get connected with your group it would be appreciated. Michael
This episode is much appreciated!

What I'm saying, is, try visual, at high magnification if possible. I love this DOB. Didn't understand visual until now

Sounds like a well rounded set.

Nice talk! Would you please list out what you have in your Pentax case and what scopes you use it for, thanks!

That's a shame Michael usually most are very helpful. I'm based in Australia so can't offer much advice on clubs there.
