Love your vlogs they are such amazing opportunities for reflection. I’ve spent my life meditating daily to be in the nothingness from which all numbers originate, so I find you so amazing for such a young soul.

I loved the beginning when you say that when you let your writing go without thinking it leads you into something you were not expecting. I like it because that's the unconscious doing its work, you are trusting the fabric of your own self and it leads you back into something you find "so cool". It reminds me of how humans are capable of finding the truth by themselves and that the cause of suffering is the lack of openness and acceptance in this journey.

I find it helpful to come up with bad ideas when I'm tired. I often feel depressed that my ideas have been thought of before however contradictions are unique, I've been solving a lot of IMO problems recently but I can't shake that thousands of others have already done them so working with wrong ideas is a huge comfort.

You are great! Like some wise Zen or daoist teacher, like the great Zhuanzhi. In a world too full of rigid reasoning, of people trying to out-logic each other, perhaps what we need is more... flow. More pattern recognition, more resonance, more... dancing with ideas rather than wrestling with them!

Like the dao flows, in ancient hebrew songs, I think the real way to understanding is seeing the pattern that is found in everything, like fractals, showing a structure of nature, philosophy shows the structure of human thought😊

Really, it sounds like listening to 'Enjoyment in Untroubled Ease', the first chapter of Zhuanzhi's book. I think we need people like you the most right now!

when learning a new thing in math, write and repeat the steps until you understand. this makes my brain more familiar with this new thing and, in a sense, eases the path to understanding

Learning a new thing is like working out at a gym, you exercise, strengthening your muscles and then feel good afterwords when you relax and your muscles recover, it's the same with learning, the grey cells have to take time to process the new thing you've learned, either if it's learning math or new words in a foreign language or new sheet of music.
Life is all about learning, and according to calculus the destination will only be reached at the infinite point for knowledge is infinite and so is curiously, despite her killing a few cats, but over-learning may cause the muscles get cramped. 💪

Btw I totally agree with you on the point about School and not having an option when tired. I’ve been working on getting better at math but it’s definitely a hard task to go from being not great to being good. There are sometimes where I am juggling 5 tasks at once between Comp Sci classes, Gen Ed, and when a math quiz comes up, it’s like I have to drop everything to fully focus on it. The only way to do well is to constantly review and explore the subject (I’m currently doing linear algebra). The problem is that I feel so overwhelmed and tired at times that I can’t constantly devote myself it. Do you have any tips to make it more manageable?

The thing i love about this is it's not scripted not meant to be shown as perfect it is just pure honesty you pointed out manythings that people don't talk about in math and other sciences.
    Keep going 🤍

I personally feel like the time one spends without doing math is actually more important than we think. It always feels like the brain is doing its magic thing in the background building connections and learning all the time and then when you come back you get the impression that you've known the math for years. In a sense, I'm convinced that the brain always knows what it's doing with itself. I'm sure that everyone had this day where "everything made sense" , you're somehow able to do math "without thinking" and your brain is able to retrieve everything at the right moment. You get that feeling of being connected to the mathematical truth, to the universe. But almost all other days are just normal days where your brain is maybe foggy and you have to think hard and revisit old stuff and it gives you the feeling that you won't be able to learn all the cool math you want to learn. There is simply not enough time. But that's okay. I see it this way: It's better to have this much math knowledge still inaccessible to you because it means you can still learn math even when you become 80 and you'll always get that Aha sensation. Anyway, keep thinking, learning, and sharing your interesting thoughts. This one felt like a fun podcast ^_^

I don't think there even is such a thing as nothing. Imo you're definitley in tune with that line by Kafka: “You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” . Another cool line I heard the other day is that 80% of communication is nonverbal, and when you really think about it's probably more like 99.9% lol
