So nice to see someone taking the time to baste in the Zipper!!!! Basting zippers will save you time and give you a better finish every time!!! Darling dress.
I learned many years ago you gotta baste that zipper, for whatever reason, they slip and love to move if you don't secure before you sew. I have never been a fan of the invisible zipper, maybe I used them once or twice. Your dress is beautiful Sarah. I read that all the couture and designers use sew in bras, sound like a great idea to me. Your children are so adorable! Great age. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Absolutely B-E-A-U-tiful. And that FABRIC ❣️ PERFECT ❣️ It's fit for the Princess that gets to wear it. Well done. Congratulations on getting one done for yourself. 😘
Sarah, lookup Kenneth King's Smart Technique for an Almost Inperceptible Zipper via Threads Magazine. Also I use double sided fusible 1/4" tape to adhere the zipper before stitching it, and I use my pintuck foot and slip that invisible coil right in that pintuck slot and move my needle exactly where I want my stitch line. Also I have placed my zipper in the side seam upside down in formal gowns, so the tab in not irritating an armpit and is easier to zip by yourself
I SEW love watching you sew! 💗 What a beautiful Christmas dress. I don’t quite understand how you do the pinning for your zipper fitting, but I’m not flexible enough for that method anyway. 😊
So excited to see this. I have diastasis recti as well sooo it does get tricky with store bought clothes and fitting something to sew for yourself. Thanks for the try on closure placing tip, I also have no one to help on this part and my husband is at a loss on this topic 🤪
Sarah, if the original pattern was a remake of Vogue, you can call Vogue's 800 customer service number and explain. They keep patterns on file, and would probably send you the missing bits for free. I actually did that once when I bought the"Royal Berth" bassinet pattern when my son was born (1980s). It was factory folded, but missing an instruction page. When I called, they sent me an entire pattern, complete.
When fitting this adorable dress why aren’t you using the dress form? I’m not only impressed with the dress but I’m more impressed with the fact that you did it with three children. 🎉. I’m new here. Just subscribed.

I love that your sharing the self fitting process, it's helpful for beginners to see.

This was so helpful! I learned many things including solo fitting adult dresses. Thanks, Sarah!

So pretty! I just might have to find this pattern!
It turned out so pretty!! I liked how you added the bra cups. I'm going to try this too! And the vintage style of the dress is perfect.🥰
Beautiful ❤️😍
So sorry you had to change you plan but this dress turned out amazing! That you managed an adult dress in a week definitely deserves applause!
Wow love it

Thanks! And I totally would've, but that was at my office at the time.. different location from my house 😘🪡
Did you make the bolero jacket?
I know you have said it before what what pen do you use to draw your embroidery designs on fabric? I want to get some for my wife.
