This video is criminally under viewed. I am very impressed by the quality of the data provided. You went so far as to include a recommended setup. I hope the algorithm catches on, best of luck!
throw those purple mushrooms in a dehydrator. and tap those mystic trees and you will be making bank
It's better to put the Purple mushrooms in a preserves Jar, the dehydrator is faster but takes 5 and the return is low.
@@ShrapnelJoe dehydrator for surplus, at least blackberries and salmon berries don't clog my keg anymore.
@@ShrapnelJoeHave you always been able to put purple mushrooms in preserves jars? I thought it was only fruit, veggies, and roe
@@Emma-rw8yo with 1.6 most non flower forage was added to the jar.
@@ShrapnelJoe what? this is big thanks for the info :D
I ended up setting this up in my bottom left corner of the farm. I'm also using it to get my oak resin for more barrels. I did it in the summer of year 2, and planted everything the day before green rain. Most of the trees were fully grown so it got started quickly. I planted a few of the mystic trees, but I only had enough for 13 of them, so I had 36 oak. I've got them all tapped and once I get more resources I'll switch them to the heavy tapper. It's a nice extra flow of income along with my crops.
The charts everywhere are missing a tree type: Mushroom trees! No videos or wiki articles answer the question: Mushrrom Trees + Mushroom Logs = ??? It seems obvious to me to wonder about this, since mushroom ____ + mushroom ___ SHOULD = MORE MUSHROOMS! Not even the speed runners have posted anything about this that I have seen!
Good question. I may have to look into this if I can find some time. I didn't test this with mushroom trees, so I can only speculate, but I think they fall in the category of "other." This would probably mean lots of common mushrooms with a few red and purple sprinkled in, but I think it should still increase quality and quantity of the log produce as any other tree/sapling would. Still, if you love mushroom trees, don't let this hold you back! :)
um im obsessed with your videos, this is the exact stardew content i need. straightforward, not crazy complicated, and impressive!! the chart was such a nice touch, i loved that visual!
This was a great video with exactly the kind of detail-to-watchability I like to see, nice work!
As soon as I saw the graphs I was hooked! Great video!
For me i did a 9 by 9 of trees letting the 4 corner ones grow to adults. Then i placed 12 mushroom logs around them leaving a open spot for the tapper. Then you place another set one space apart to gain the bonus. If you mainly deydrate the mushrooms then quality is less important. Main issue of set up is you have 5 trees you cant tap.
using dehydrator you get a profit for base and silver star mushrooms. if artisan profession then you profit from all quaities
That's a great point. Definitely something to take into account. Thanks!
I definitely think the dehydrator makes saplings mostly irrelevant for higher quality as it can process the lower quality ones so quickly
You can actually put mushrooms in Jars as well for even more profit 👍
Heck yeah! My two favorite things, stardew + data! I can't wait to see more!
This is such a great suggested setup for mushrooms and tappers. Thanks for such a detailed video!
This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you
I have been looking for this content since first getting a mushroom log! Thank you! Defdo subscribing with this quality of content!
I didn’t realize tree type made a difference so I set mine up using mossy seeds to get moss sooner and I was confused why I only got common mushrooms lol, thanks for this!
I've set up a load of these in the gaps in my tree tapping area. I get around 50k every few days, just for sticking them in dehydrators. Its insane
10/10 subscribed. I’m glad to know mushroom logs work in the winter! Wow!
Make sure to follow Kita on every platform she is on the most chill person is Kita and also make sure to say hey to Kevin her dog he bites kids
This video is amazing thank you! i wanted to try a setup with mystic trees as they give pretty good money from the sap and having mushroom logs at the same time and I think I will be working on that now! :)
I was studying these as a way to complete community center bundles faster. Good information here.
Great video. Subscribed!
I have plenty of space on my farm! You need to do a tour of your farm so we can see how you set up everything!
I got a way to use the mushroom stump. I call it Line Shrooming. you will need access to the hidden forest as this method is hardwood intensive. harvest 120 hardwood and 120 moss. build mushroom stumps. Place stumps along a walkway. Place three rows of desired tree oak pine maple etc. above the line of stumps for three rows. Do Not Leave Spaces Between The Trees. Once enough trees mature your stumps will always yield 5 shrooms of varying quality. my last harvest had 20 iridium common 10 red gold and other such spoils. i'm going to double my gain by adding a line of stumps below the pathway
Great video
On rainy days the time till the next harvest is reduced by 1 day but sadly it doesn't stack
Great video - very informative. Have a sub 😊👍
MYSTIC trees are the god. mostly purple mushroom. and the the mystic syrup from tappers sell for 1k!
Stupid old me just put mushroom log out openly with no trees nearby and having only 2-3 normal quality common mushroom per log every time because I didn't read the fine print. Afterwards, I just clumps in a few of wild tree seeds (4 seed per tree) and they flourished with all sorts of varieties (mostly common mushroom) with gold to iridium quality harvest
You can abuse rain totems to increase your mushroom output by 25% any time it fails to rain naturally before next harvest.
I love mushrooms. And you have a dog named Kevin ?! My name is Kevin! Let’s get real. Looking forward to your next video. 🙂
great video!
i like the mushroom logs a lot. ez add to my tree and syrup farm. plus who gets the mushroom cave after play thru 1 anyway lol
One thing I haven't figured out yet. I got some seeds from the green rain event for mossy trees, and I initially thought those were the wild trees the stump was talking about. I don't see any documentation anywhere about how those work with the mossy trees from that event.
Someone else commented that they count as "Other", as they only got common mushrooms.
How do you find mushroom logs size up vs mushroom trees? Do mushroom trees effect what mushrooms grow on near by logs?
They CAN be put in the Fruit Bat cave. :)
Keep up the good work. SDV has fallen off quite a lot since 1.5 so there isn't a lot of 1.6 coverage out there right now. I just got recommended this video and if you continue making videos like this you will grow for sure. Thanks for putting this together.
So I can skip the mushroom cave and go to fruit?
Gotta have em surely, else how will you keep the new neighbors happy??
I have never seen a mossy Mystic Tree.
How long does it take for Mystic Trees to get mossy?
so for maximizing purple mushroom quantity for dehydrators we should be using the regular tree farm layout?
Great question. I was thinking about doing a follow-up video that accounts for dehydrators, which I kinda left out. For maximizing purple mushroom quantity with mystic trees, I would still go with an alternate setup, but forget about any saplings and just add more mushroom logs in their place. There may be better setups out there, but you'll be able to get a lot more mushroom logs this way than the old standard tree farm, while still having enough trees within range to max out each log at 5 mushrooms. I hope that helps. Best of luck!
@@Kitadollx You should put the purple mushrooms in preserves jar it has higher profits but takes more time(So people do not know they added most forage to the preserves jars list to make pickles)
@@Kitadollx thanks!
Quality of the mushrooms doesn't matter if you're throwing them in a dehydrator, only the type and quantity.
Assuming I did the math right, mushroom logs next to mystic trees will make an average of 535g per day if you use a dehydrator
Is there any mechanical reason not to stagger the rows of your tree farm? It seems like it'd be a lot easier to see what you're doing.
Definitely, they can be staggered. You should be able to have fewer trees without losing too much mushroom production as well. I'm hoping to delve into this further, taking some other things into account in a future video. Thanks for watching!
Given you need a tree farm to get any artisan equipment there is no reason to not use these but only if you are optimally using the logs to guarantee 5 good mushrooms. Don’t bother with maple trees as red mushrooms aren’t profitable. Just get those in the mines
Hmm....idk if they're worth it yet 🤔
Ohio friends?
Ohayō means "good morning" in Japanese, but it does sound similar! lol
I'm sure my brain is the reason, but the mechanics of the mushroom log explained on the wiki makes no sense to me 🫠
