- We received a report of smoke and the whole station was sent which includes Battalion 70, Cal Fire Engines 1661 and 1671, South Santa Clara County Engine and Water Tender 67. Dozer 1641 was also dispatched but I stopped recording because they were a bit behind the rest of the pack. They are in another video. The fire turned out to be an illegal burn pile. On a side note, Cal Fire Prevention Officers are Sworn Peace Officers with full powers of arrest. Not shown was our Prevention Chief responding which means someone got a ticket.
Love the unitrol touchmaster on sweep
Cal Fire one of my favourite fire agencies out there
That was awesome!!
The sworn peace officer status must explain why I've seen some Cal Fire units (including some BC rigs) with blue lights in their light bars. In California, only law enforcement vehicles are allowed blue lights.
I think Michigan has the same thing about LE getting blue. The volunteers there can have code 3 equipment on their personal vehicles and I know that blue was strictly forbidden. At the time you could get in a good bit of trouble just having a blue light in your trunk.
CalFire has swan law enforcement officers
Wow that a lot of space in front of that fire house
Being the headquarters station it is on a fairly big chunk of land, at least for around here. What you don't see in the several building behind the two in the video.
Lyon AI6F . Many thanks for that info I lived in new York and fly there often and there no room at all all U.K. fire station as we call them have a yard at the back bing enough to turn a. Ladder unit round
@@malcolmmarshall4371 A lot of the city and county stations are like what you described here. Quite a few of our stations have different buildings like a barracks, mess hall, and engine bays. If you want to have some fun you can look up 15670 Monterey Street Morgan Hill CA on google maps and look at the satellite view to see the layout of the station. Google's image is old as the tree is gone and the driveways have been repaved.
Awesome catch. Lii I be the code 3 z3 on the water tender and the touchmaster on the battalion
C the lights hear the sirens MOVE TO THE RIGHT! MOVE IT OR GET RUN OVER!
Y'all come a runnin
Think I heard Copter 106 dispatched also
I don't remember if they got punched out for this or not.
AWESOME
LAI6F, sweet catch.
1. Why did a dozer respond?
2. What is CalFire?
3. Are the dozers that the fire depts in Cali used just for wildfires?
Hello, The Dozer was sent because we had a report of a vegetation fire . Cal Fire will start a pretty large response straight away because a lot of our calls are quite far away and they would rather get everyone rolling and cancel the resources that are not needed if the fire turns out to be nothing. Cal Fire is the moniker for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, they are the State of California's Fire Department. Yes, we only send they on wildland or what we call vegetation fires.
What are in the other garages that didn’t open
The last three doors are our service center where all the spare equipment for the unit is kept. Stuff like hose and turnouts.
Lyon AI6F oh ok cool
Is that their station in nipomo?
Hello It is the headquarters station for the Santa Clara Unit in Morgan Hill.
Where is the video of the other units responding?
Here ya go': ruclips.net/video/RNa-vpyOcYA/видео.html
@@lyonai6f thanks bud
@@jeffreylane3686 Anytime!
Is Santa Clara Fire partners with CalFire or??
South Santa Clara County Fire Protection District has a contract with Cal Fire to staff their engines as well as provide maintenance. This is typical as a lot of places will contract with Cal Fire for some level of fire protection, whether it be a single engine or entire fire protection for an area like a city.
I’m pretty sure most cities are contracted with Cal Fire. I know Riverside County CA is staffed with Cal Fire Units along with their own units.
Nice catch
Thanks!
What kind of siren is that at 39 seconds
Hello, to be honest I have no idea. If I get a chance I'll see if I can take a look and get a make for you.
Ok sounds good thanks
Caleb Schaeffer Touchmaster Delta
The Federal Signal Touchmaster delta Ultra Hi-Lo on sweep.
The famous touchmaster Delta from federal signal corporation on sweep mode
Cool
Where is this Awesome looking Station again?
It's in Morgan Hill, CA. It is the headquarters station for Cal Fire's Santa Clara Unit
Do you have the radio frequency?
Santa Clara Unit dispatchs on 151.445. If you are in the area you can usually hear Santa Cruz San Mateo Unit dispatch on 151.370
Lyon AI6F thank you 🙏
You're welcome.
You and you and you and you and you..
The (Whole house) didn't go.
Well that's everyone assigned to that station. Who got missed?
Only in California, nobody stops, just keep on driving, the ME FIRST GENERATION.
New York too
Yeah... Sometimes getting out of the station can be a real pain. It's the " you aren't coming to save me so f@#$ y#$."
Nope, it's pretty much everywhere, it's why I almost never run code responding to wildfires, no one gets out of the way
Sad
Come to Philadelphia,...
fire chief see that big red sign before you leave drive it says STOP.even if you are under lights and sirens
Yes that is part of the training received getting certified to drive code 3. However. in compliance to CVC 21806 the driver of every other vehicle shall yield the right-of-way and shall immediately drive to the right-hand edge or curb of the highway, clear of any intersection, and thereupon shall stop and remain stopped until the authorized emergency vehicle has passed. The fine is right around $490.
What is the average response time in the us. If that was the uk people would be getting fired slowest response I’ve ever seen
It varies from place to place. I can't comment on how fast they get out the door because I don't feel it is my place to do so.
Cameron Mcghee most departments are 60 seconds to 90 seconds once the tones drop.
You can't judge the entire USA from one video you see. There is 50 states and within those 50 states there is several hundred separate county municipalities numbering thousands of departments per state. Some are within the city, others in the outskirts, others in the country. It varies too much to measure. NFPA recommends departments respond to 90 percent of calls in 4 minutes. Some stations can take 3-4 minutes to arrive on scene, others 15+ minutes - especially in rural areas, which is why volunteer departments are created at midway points to fill in the slack.
You have to allow time for the apparatus crews to board the apparatus, and for the air brake compressors to fill the air brake reservoirs. Otherwise, you will have no brakes, which is not good if you need to slow down or stop!
0:41 I know you’re running lights and sirens but you just can’t blow stop signs like that come tf on, once on code 3 stop signs and traffic lights that are red are considered yields but clearly that isn’t the case with this department tsk tsk
To be honest, I have no idea why that stop sign is there. It is the only fire station I have ever seen with a stop sign at the end of the driveway. Have you ever seen a stop sign at the end of an active fire station driveway? Let me know.
It's because the driveway is attached to an intersection and the station is set so far back it constitutes as a roadway. Many businesses set back from the road with long driveways have a stop sign exiting their property.
Who the hell needs stop signs anyway
