Rabbi Singer has a lot of great information to share and I do enjoy hearing what he has to say in most instances; however he also has a gift for avoiding giving a direct answer to uncomfortable questions.
In this particular interview he does this on two separate occasions. In one example he avoids addressing the super chat question regarding the dishonesty around Isaac's blessing. He literally avoids any language about dishonesty or trickery despite this is the exact language found in the text and Singer goes on a tangent about the role Jewish women play in the home.
Otherwise his take on Paul is very interesting and probably fairly accurate if we accept the position of scholars regarding dating and authenticity of certain letters etc. Jacob is bringing light to more modern ideas that include multiple authors and push the dates of the letters into the second century, which really changes the game quite a bit.

I'm not going to comment on Tovia on a personal level. I spent years doing that and no need rehashing. I gave you a like.
In response to the video and the comment, one thing Tovia is consistently wrongwith, as is the majority of Christianity, is Paul's stance on the Torah. Christians however have a crutch to lean on with ignorance. Tovia doesn't. When you come at Paul with a Jewish perspective, which Tovia has, it's quite easy to see his arguments and how to read them.

The problem is that instead of delivering the bible complete, in one piece, supposedly this all-knowing god dribbles it out, bit by bit, over the centuries by various spokespeople who self-affirm they are speaking on behalf of the big guy. So that one's prophet is another one's blasphemer, and jointly all of them are truly the authors of confusion.

Paul was such a con man. I just wrote a book: "Romans Proves Paul Lied". A review of all of Romans, with comments exposing his lies, followed by the foundation of Matthew from the Hebrew translation, followed by the 3000 year old Covenant that proves Jesus was restoring the Covenant - retelling the Covenant Standards that were altered 1000 years before him - not nailing them to a cross. Modern proof Jesus was directly inspired by Elohim.

True. Jesus told the rich young ruler in order to have eternal life, he must sell everything he has and give it to the poor. I was a Christian for 20 years, and I never heard anyone doing that. Hell, they always prayed for more......

@@perfectblindguy Your a LIAR, Jesus did NOT say that. Here is the portion of scripture that you obviously have NEVER READ IN YOUR LIFE !! Jesus said, " but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." (Matthew 19:17-21)
The young ruler "claimed" that he was "perfect" in OBEYING the 10 Commandments, but did not realize that HIS POSSESSIONS WERE HIS IDOLS that he was unable to part with, WHICH IS BREAKING THE 1ST COMMANDMENT, "Thou shalt have NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME".

55:41 *📚 Transition to RUclips and Electronic Media*
    - Rabbi Singer explains his shift from writing books to creating RUclips content.

    - Missionaries exploit rabbinic literature to support Christian doctrines,
    - There is a contradiction as they claim not to believe in these texts,
    - The absence of direct support for Christian doctrines in the Hebrew Bible leads to these manipulations.
    01:36:49 *✍ Paul's Misrepresentation of the Torah*
    - Paul frequently misquotes the Hebrew Bible to fit a Christian narrative,
    - Example from 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 where he cites non-existent scripture,
    - Mistranslations and fabrications are common in Paul's writings.

A biblical "Christian" is someone who has received a "Revelation" from God that Jesus is the Christ, (Matthew 16:17) (John 6:44,45). If you read the parable of the "Sower Sows the Word", Jesus REVEALS EXACTLY what happened to you and why you don't believe and why you left His Words. As a Christian myself, I can say that a tremendous amount of Christian disagreement would vanish away if you removed the writings of Paul. Especially Romans ch.9. Talk about a treasure chest of disagreement and confusion! Also, the whole, no women pastors or teachers, and women aren't even allowed to speak in church? This all comes from Paul and no one else? The Bible says everything must be established by 2 or 3 witnesses, yet we have major Christian doctrines and disagreements based on the testimony of a single man. I just have a very real problem with that.

The problem is, there are only a select few of Paul’s epistles which are agreed upon by scholars as being authentic and actually written by Paul. The first and second letter to the Timothy, which is known as the Pastoral epistles (if I’m correct) as it is so called was one of the contested letters that were not included. I do find it crazy how we just accept things because someone tells us. We should always test everything and everybody. I believe that was one of things the congregation at Ephesus was praised for by Jesus as they tested those who claimed to be apostles. I am not saying Paul is a false apostle either. I don’t know. I sometimes wonder if there were letters written in Paul’s name as it was common during that time of pseudo-writers with agendas and Paul did warn about in some of his letters to be aware that there were some who were trying to do this and using his name (and hence authority) to introduce their own doctrines so to speak.

A tremendous amount of disagreements would vanish if people took peters warning that Paul was hard to understand, and also didn't use English chapter breaks. Romans has to be read in blocks usually covering a few chapters at a time with no stop. Romans 9 is no exception.

I love how people can try to call others names or declare themselves the judge of all character of others after they are long gone and unable to defend themselves.
The man preached the word of God to the Gentiles for the most part while the other Apostles preached the gospel to the Jewish people.
Paul was beheaded for preaching the gospel and the other Apostles were martyred as well except John who was exiled to the isle of Patmos.
All together today anyone can know God because the Veil was torn at the Crucifixion of Christ and all can enter to seek God beyond the torn Veil where ANYONE can be set free from the eternal bonds of Sin.
There is no more Temple standing at the moment and in the meantime we can seek God the way Paul teaches where by Faith we can know God and it’s by Faith that we are all given as a gift to understand God with Romans12v3.
Why Faith? Because none of us can see God right now and Gods presence anyways is not found in a temple anymore but resides inside oneself when they become a born again person.
Today one must become reborn again to see the Kingdom of God John3v3. And the Kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom that one can know that is explained in the Bible and talked about but to know it intimately you have to born anew and leave your old life at the Cross.

To be fair, the oldest Israelite traditions included human sacrifice, and there are breadcrumbs leading back to this in the Hebrew Bible -- Yhwh did not thirst after only the blood of animals. The story of Jephthah comes to mind, in which the spirit of Yhwh descends upon him, then he makes the oath to sacrifice whoever walks out of his house after he returns victorious, and then Yhwh makes him victorious and accepts the sacrifice of his daughter, which is not much different from the human sacrifices for victory carried out by the neighboring nations against whom Israel fought. The Tanakh includes laws demanding the sacrifice of the first born, as well as a law saying that anyone committed to being sacrificed could not be redeemed. Ezekiel wrote that Yhwh gave Israel an evil law, specifically the sacrifice of the first born, as a punishment.
While Judaism moved away from the practice of blood magic sacrifices, it is an undeniable part of the religion's history. In this sense, the god of Paul is closer to that primordial god of bloodlust than the modern Jewish god. And importantly, the prophetic critique of temple worship was ineffective, unimportant, and uninfluential until the Romans destroyed the temple and put an end to Jewish blood sacrifices, so Paul was not out of alignment with the Judaism of his day.

The martyrdoms of the apostles are entirely fabricated, DarkMatter2525 did a good job proving this in his 40 minute video "Did the Apostles Die for a Lie?", in which he shows how the Church clearly fabricated stories and had clear intent.
For example, Capholic church invented the idea that paul was "beheaded", but its a false tradition/invention.
There is also a good book called "The Myth of Persecution | How Early Christians Invented A Story of Martyrdom" by Candida Moss. Romans killing Krastians is a made up story.. Roman writings never mention this killing of Krastians - it did not make it into the historical record.
There were several sects of Krastianity who were often at great odds with each other. Most of them increased their numbers by including even enemies of Rome amongst their ranks. The Official Roman sponsored Krastians would throw the contenders aka all who believed in a different version of the Kristos or romanized version of the messianic prophesies' Messiah and or his history.
Why would Rome massacre Krastians if they were taught to live a peaceful life from the JC teachings? Makes no sense, even the Romans were very liberal with others cultures and religions as long as they did not question authority - and the gospels clearly say that governments are instituted by God himself and to not rebel against them, and to render unto Kayzar his taxes for he is appointed by god himself here on this earth, and to turn the other cheek.
      3) There were laws which persecuted Krastian groups that rested on Shabat, the law forced them to work on Shabat in order to not "juedaize" Shabat. The gospels always talk about how persecution comes from the Jewels not the Jentyles. The real persecution was of Jeuweish messianic rebels. "Krastians" persecuted were actually heretical Jewels , paul persecuted them , paul replaced Mozes law and hated cirkumcision.

And the Apostle Paul was the last desciple to be called by Jesus Luke 18:22. I believe he was also present at the time of the baptism of Jesus Christ, because he would have known about John the Baptist and everything he said concerning the Messiah, which could have prompted him, as a Pharisee of pharisees, to seek out validation from him in Luke 18.
    1) The rich young ruler's main concern was to "inherit eternal life " vs 18. He judged himself worthy because he believed he had been obeying all the laws.
    2) He had been listening to Jesus's teachings and was convinced that he was a man of authority, though, he wasn't ready to accept the fact He could be the Messiah, so he approached Jesus in a condescending manner- as he was a pharisee and they believed themselves to be above everyone else. So, he sucked up to Jesus by calling Him "Good Master ". Jesus saw through him and responded in a way that means He was God, if Paul believed that He was good, and went on to poke holes in his legalistic beliefs- he believed he never committed adultery, but Jesus taught that to just look on a maiden lustfully already constituted a breaking of the law, so was bearing false witness, which they were notorious for, but wouldn't admit to, so he was indirectly stealing from the temple coffers in the name of doing business for God Galatians 1:14; as was not honoring their fathers and mothers in the name of bringing offerings to the temple etc. and finally, told him to get rid of the source of his pride: his wealth, and distribute to the poor, as they usually pretended to do to look good before the people. He wasn't ready to even exchange that to gain eternal life, which Jesus understood (and gave him time before answering his calling vs 22).
He began to follow Jesus from then onwards, persecuting Him just to get physical proof on Him as a fraud. I believe he was behind all the questions to get Jesus to break the laws- including paying taxes (Jesus was called the Son of David, David and his house have been tax exempt by King Saul, for slaying Goliath, by this they're negating His relationship with King David, hence, cannot be the Messiah, they even insult Him of being born of fornication, as Mary got pregnant before getting married John 8:41 etc.)
    3) I believe he spearheaded the group that deceived Judas to betray Him, and those they bought to shout "crucify him " over and over again until Jesus was crucified on the cross. He really did persecute Jesus and by so doing, get to follow Him as other desciples, learning from His teachings all along, even sneaking behind to witness the last supper to confidently say he received it of the Lord
1 Corinthians 11:23, to make hin an Apostle born out of due time - long after his calling 1 Corinthians 15:8.
    3) His anger made him turn his his back on his own life, and began to persecute everyone linked to Jesus, from Stephen up till the time he fell off his high horse- so to speak, and was forced to come to reality of who Jesus Christ really was- The Son if man(David), The Son of God, which he knew all along but his legalistic mind was resisting it: he finally called Jesus "Lord", though subconsciously, but he always knew He was Lord when he heard His voice again Acts 9:4-5.
After this, he became so overzealous enough to begin to let everyone know that "Jesus was the Son of God, and the Messiah" vs 20,22. He began to immediately experience persecution himself, which got him to Arabia, where he had ample time and opportunity to review all the proof he had collected while he was persecuting Jesus 2 Timothy 4:13. He could even have been the naked young man, who was used to entrap JesusChriston the night of His arrest. Mark 14:51-52. (That was why he could write with so much understanding of the Lord in all his epistles).
    4) Philippians 3 was where he finally came to terms with the fact that all his wealth could not be exchanged for the knowledge of Christ and gaining eternal life- his all life pursuit Luke18:18! This came at a price though - he lost all his fortune, that he wasn't willing to give up at that time: Luke 18:18-30, calling them "dung." But now, forgetting all his past life and pressing towards the prize of the "high calling " of Jesus, as he now sees it!
That was why it was easy for the other desciples to extend to him the right hand of fellowship as the Apostle of the gentiles Galatians 2:9.
That was also why he could withstand the other desciples when they were preaching the law and circumcision together with the grace of God in Christ Jesus in Acts 15. Immediately after preaching in the synagogue that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Acts 9:20-22, God sent Barnabas to help him fulfill his calling, and spread the gospel if salvation to both Jews and gentiles, especially the gentiles.
The gospel of the salvation of our souls is simply by grace through faith in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the completed work of the cross that no one can add to or remove from by doing good or bad. The Holy Spirit was sent to guide, teach, interpret, and keep until the end, John 14:26. Thus, He quickenes the believers and takes them all up at rapture. Until then, we give ourselves to studying the scriptures to make ourselves approved unto God as workmen that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth-daily!
That was the reason why the Apostle loved his Jewish brethren so much that he wouldn't mind being accursed, as long as they can all (the 12 tribes), be saved! Romans 9:3!
That was the reason he endures so much beatings and maltreatment from the Jews, who really hated him, but he continued to concern himself with them, even took up collection of money for the Jewish belivers, even though he was sent to the gentiles-39 stripes 5 timed, got shipwrecked, got bitten by a venomous snake, but like the Duracell battery, he still kept going strong till the end! How stinky and painful and full of putrefying sores, his body must have been, yet he kept on going...
So he ran and finished his course and ensured that the outcast tribe of Benjamin, finally has a place in the body of Jesus Christ, and will sit with Him on the right hand of the throne of God, in heavenly places!
He made and left us all a legacy, so we can all make it. Thus, he is free from the blood of everyone who rejects so great a salvation story!

I know I'm just a random guy on the internet, but I think Rabbi Singer _completely_ misunderstands Paul. His error is failing to consider Paul's audience. If you truly want to understand Paul, you need to separate his personal piety from what the early church believed was required of Gentiles. The letter to the Romans is nothing if not a midrash on Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:16-36. Paul does not quote his sources in their entirety, but he does quote Ezekiel 36:21 in Romans 2:24. Of course, you should not let my suggestion hang on one verse, but here is Paul in his own words: "in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us" (Romans 8:4). That is, just as Deuteronomy 30:6, 8 (later taken up by Jeremiah and Ezekiel) predicts an act of God to cause people to fulfill the law from the inside out, so also Paul says this is happening in real time in his day. What Singer finds so offensive (rather, where he gets confused) is his applying to Jews what Paul _and_ the Jerusalem church said of Gentiles: they were not obligated to proselytize: "Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek" (Galatians 2:3). This coheres perfectly with the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15. The debate about Gentiles keeping the law makes _absolutely no sense_ unless it was agreed that Jews were still expected to. But Paul's letters are NOT addressed to Jews, so the antinomian accusation is totally bogus. So to restate it: Paul's issue was with zealots who were telling his Gentile converts that, even though they had already received the Spirit, they needed to be circumcised for it to count. Paul was harsh in rejecting this, and the picture that emerges is not unlike what Singer says, but it's a straw man if you are saying it applies to Jewish believers keeping the law.
It would have been helpful if you had asked Singer what he thinks Gentiles need to do to have eternal life. In other settings, he has not said "became 100% card carrying Jews." Ironically, he agrees with Paul way more than he thinks.

If you want to to say Paul audience is the Gentiles and say that is something the person you call Jesus also wanted to convey, isnt from the 4 gospels. Jesus always told his disciples to Not go the way of the gentiles but to the lost sheep of the House of Isreal. So if Jesus never taught that to his disciples but Paul who message is to the Gentiles, something dont fit. Acts try to fix this with the dream they say Peter has about the unclean animals. That contradicts anything Jewish. Acts contradicts Pauls letters about even meeting any disciple of Jesus which he says he didnt meet til 3 years into his ministry. Either Jesus came Only for the Lost Sheep of the Isreal in which he teaches or Paul isnt a true messenger of Jesus.

    • @seedofwonder
      @seedofwonder 4 месяца назад

@@daniellyons4021 You're even more confused than Rabbi Singer. First, if you trust the four gospels, you likely know that most scholars believe Acts was written by the same author as Luke. Whether that is a man named Luke is irrelevant. So your first mistake is imposing a false dichotomy on the text that the author and implied readers would not perceive. Second, the gospels record Jesus sending his disciples on one or two missions during which he instructed them not to go to the nations. It is NEVER stated anywhere that that was permanent. As far as we know, they adhered to that instruction. Third, in Acts 11 Peter interprets the dream described in Acts 10. Peter's interpretation is NOT that the food laws have been abolished but that the vision was a metaphor indicating that the Gentiles have been declared clean, as evidenced by the outpouring of the Spirit. It sounds like you don't think Isaiah 2 is Jewish? How about Isaiah 49? Daniel 7? Genesis 12? There are no contradictions here. Finally, you _could_ be correct about when Paul met the other apostles, but you could also be incorrect. Paul's first visit to Jerusalem is said to take place after sufficient time (ἡμέραι ἱκαναί) had passed to draw the ire of the Jews in Damascus (Acts 9:23). The text is vague about how much time passed between fleeing his enemies in Damascus and coming to Jerusalem. But here I am indulging your inability to focus on the topic at hand, as this has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with expectations for Jews and Gentiles.

For me, the clincher was "why would anyone be willing to die for a lie?" and therefore the early christians must have actually encountered the risen Jesus. Yet we see Paul, the guy who might be the strongest advocate of this religion, apparently raking in the shekels, the first apparently leading to the mega-churches of today. And although I agree with the good Rabbi that Acts is fan-fiction, when Paul is hauled into court, no one raises the issue that he is claiming the convicted felon Jesus might have actually escaped execution. "Wanted die or alive" type posters would have been offering a lot more than 30 pieces of silver IF the authorities had any evidence of a post-crucifixion Jesus and Paul would have been tortured to give up the location of Jesus.

This is an important issue: Why's the veracity of Paul's Apostleship coming under attack? Because TRUTH is under all-out attack. By dismissing Paul you're USURPING the *completed Word of God* - not "Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth."
As an "awakened" new ager I dissed Paul (once or twice) thinking I knew better, but now I'm BORN AGAIN I see better: I SEE he was full of the same *Spirit* filling me - and that's ALL I need to know about Paul: that he was anointed by the *Holy Spirit.* Paul was appointed by *Jesus Himself* and HE don't make mistakes.
Seriously, Paul wrote as he was moved by the Holy Spirit, so to insult him is to insult *God's SPIRIT* which, Jesus says, is tantamount to the *unpardonable sin.*
Under the inspiration of the Spirit of God - Paul said, *"Follow me as I follow Christ."* We're not dealing with a man who glorifies himself but someone who the Holy Spirit led to write about his life experience, because GOD is holding him up as the example for us, so HOW DARE anyone say that we shouldn't follow his example.
Paul's personality shows in his writings, as all the authors of scripture do. But Paul ain't simply rehearsing something that he sat down and learned and meditated and said "well now this is what I'll write." No, he wrote as he was moved by the HOLY SPIRIT. We have to stress Paul's apostleship for the church age as over and against Christ's Ministry in the Gospels; but people cry, "I'm gonna go with what Jesus said." They're well meaning but NOT THINKING. Everything Jesus said in his earthly ministry - with exception of the last chapters of the gospels after His resurrection - was BEFORE THE CROSS. He hadn't died yet; his blood hadn't been shed and nothing is mooted of that in His preaching..... When you go by what Jesus said in his earthly ministry you're going by that which is BEFORE THE CROSS.
Rightly Divide the Word of Truth! When you get to the Apostle Paul he makes it so plain that everything he writes he receives from the Lord IN GLORY. There is a gospel of John the Baptist's 'repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near' that Jesus had continued, and his early disciples continued, where the truth healed people by release.
Then there is the abuse of Jesus's dead body, and the delusion by faith that healed people by their oath of bondage and as long as they are being kept upset by 'never there yet'.

I have a lot of sympathy for the Hellenistic pagan world. Reading the Emperor Julian's "Against the Galileans" it is clear that he thinks that the Christians have taken the worst of Hellenism and the worst of Judaism to fabricate their religion. Julian thought the Jews far exceeded the Christians in wisdom, and indeed wanted to help rebuild the Jewish Temple. It was a tragedy that he died too soon.

This is what Tovia Singer is "hiding" from you because YOU REFUSE to read the NT for YOURSELF !! Paul said this about the LAW. "For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law." (Romans 13:8-10)
"Know you not that THE UNRIGHTEOUS SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD." (1st Corinthians 6:9,10)
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I TELL YOU BEFORE AS I HAVE ALSO TOLD YOU IN TIME PAST, that THEY WHICH DO SUCH THINGS WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD." (Galatians 5:19-21)
""But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, WE OURSELVES ARE ALSO FOUND SINNERS, is therefore Christ THE MINISTER OF SIN ? GOD FORBID ! .For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself A TRANSGRESSOR." (Galatians 2:17,18)
"What shall we say then? SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN, , that grace may abound? GOD FORBID !. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" (Romans 6:1,2)
" What shall we say then? IS THE LAW SIN ? GOD FORBID !.
Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet....Wherefore THE LAW IS HOLY, and THE COMMANDMENT HOLY, AND JUST, AND GOOD." (Romans 7:7,12)

You need to read Paul as a Jew. He's not saying Jews can't keep the Torah. He claims to be perfect 'as to the law'. Paul is addressing pagan converts. 'wretched man that I am... " &c is Paul identifying with formerly idolotrous pagans. The question for Paul (& other first century Jews) was how goys would be admitted to the kingdom? As proselyte Jews, or as members of the Nations? If God is one, He is the God of the Nations too. To require the Gentiles to convert would deny the oneness of God.
Good grief man, Paul was a Jew not a Christian. There was no such thing as a Christian in Paul's time. You might not agree with him, but disowning him is small minded and petty. Guess you'd need to start another synagogue if he showed up?

    • @garlandjones7709

Paul isn't saying Christians don't have to keep the Torah or shouldn't. Paul EXPECTS every believer to be torah observant.
Paul understands the one God doesn't have different standards for the two groups. This is hammered throughout Romans from start to finish. Christians keep the law. So does Galatians.

Christians view ancient religious Israel in a broken state, in order to portray Jesus more comfortably as a Messia. But really what happend was that Judaism just went through a spiritual development, away from a fundamentalistic view. This was also prophesiede by Jeremiah. I dont want to say that orthodox Judaism is wrong, because those were the men protecting scripture. And they will do that for ever, because the covenant God made with Israel is enternal. When Moses received the commandments on Mount Sinai, God dictated his words with a sword. And on that sword the words ''You maybe next'' were engraved. The reason why God decided to show himself like that, is because we still live in a pagan world. It doesnt matter if Christians desperately and hypocritically suddenly became Gentiles, and certainly not if we merge with technology and become robots.

SO IT IS A MATTER OF DIVINE REVELATION, AS EVEN PETER WROTE IN HIS LETTER AGAINST THOSE MISCONSTRUING PAUL'S WISDOM. LET US BEAR IN MIND THAT PAUL WAS A PHARISEE, THUS ESSENTIALLY A RABBI, BUT ALSO A JEW DESPERATE TO SHOW FELLOW JEWS THAT THERE IS A MORE REAL WAY OF SALVATION THAN THE LAW. HENCE, WHILE IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE THAT SINCERE JEWS HAVE DISDAIN FOR PAUL OVERTURNING THEIR RELIGION AT YESHUA'S (JEHOVAH SAVING) COMMAND, THEY SHOULD ADMIT THAT HE IS RIGHT AND COMPELLED DIVINELY. IT WAS ALSO HIM THAT WROTE THE LETTER TO HEBREWS, SO AS TO CLARIFY, AS A PHARISEE, WHY THE GOSPEL LIBERATES THE SINCERE FROM THE GUILT OF A NEAR-IMPOSSIBLE TORAH.

      @vikingdemonpr 5 месяцев назад +1

Let me jump on this thought real quick. I've been thinking about this too but disagree on the point that Barabbas got released.
Yes, Jesus Barabbas could be the historical Jesus. He fits the model of a messianic rebel. The thing is that the Gospel writers split Jesus into two: the messianic rebel who is Barabbas and the Pauline, peaceful, spiritual messiah Jesus. The point that the Gospel writers might have wanted to do is, in the context of the post war, that the Jews chose to side with the rebels (Barabbas) and rejected the peaceful messiah (Jesus). But I do think the historical Jesus was crucified by the Romans.

@@vikingdemonpr You bring up an interesting point. I have wondered why would the gospel writers put that passage in there. Maybe it was their tongue in cheek way of letting the reader know that what they were writing down was a bunch of shit. Thusly, the Roman soldiers rammed a spear up his ass and that is how Jesus died, if he was executed. That's my two cents.
