Another banger from the early Incubus album, S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
As I was re-learning this song to make this guitar lesson, I realised that I was playing the bridge section of this song wrong! I have corrected the mistakes in this video and in the TAB on my Patreon page.
This track isn't too hard to play, the hardest parts are the verse where you need to slide back up to the 14th fret after playing down at the 1st and 2nd fret and the effects tap dance in the bridge section.

Crazy how in the early days they blended 624,712 genres and yet, somehow, manage to pull it off.
Very much a let’s throw all our influences at this and see what happens 😁. Shame the band seem to be embarrassed about these songs and don’t really want to play them live that much anymore 😔

@@FitzgerdI'm not so sure it's that the band is embarrassed by these songs, but Brandon likely isn't able to perform them live anymore (and I mean this with all due respect, Brandon is one of my favorite vocalists period)
@@sesh517 there must be something else to it - Brandon still tackles songs like Dig live and that has some waaaay harder vocals than the songs off of Science?
@@Fitzgerd S.C.I.E.N.C.E doesn't have many crowd pleaser songs, so naturally they're going to play stuff from Make Yourself, Morning View etc regardless of how good/bad Brandon sounds because that's what the majority of people know them from. I just think that saying they're 'embarrassed' S.C.I.E.N.C.E is a bit of a stretch.

I have a question about the boss RV3…. I find that there seems to be a “lag” or “stutter” when I turn it on or off. It’s almost like a brief pause before the pedal is activated or deactivated. Do you ever experience this? And if so, do you have any tips? Thanks
Yes I do and it’s a pain in the neck! I find it’s mainly when I turn it on, seems fine when it’s turned off and the repeats decay away nicely. I find if you can turn it on before you need to play a chord or note, it should mitigate the stutter effect and you won’t hear it. Sometimes that’s just not possible so if you can add another effect before you add the delay, that can help mask the transition as you’re playing. I hope that makes some kind of sense?! 😅
That’s why I love the delay setting on my Rv-6 😃

Not that I know of. Just sounds like the top three strings to me 🤷🏻♂️
