    Are you excited by the transition to six cylinders in the G550? Let us know in the comments below!

    • @cbotten106
      @cbotten106 2 месяца назад

      Always excited when luxury brands downsize their powertrains. Lexus' going to nasty loud four cylinders made my decade! Gotta wean them off the gas somehow, I guess. Seriously, it is still a nice inline six...not so bad. With the weight saving from that carbon fiber tire cover it might get double digit mpg.

      @agnesf2659 2 месяца назад +3

      No, cuz that's what cheap GLE450's got.

    • @siegfriedbarfuss9379

      Inline 6 is best option. Less moving parts and no vibrations compared to 4 cylinder. Weight is key. The mild hybrid M256 is MB’s best engine. Should dump all V8s. Hope the offer the G450d in the US. Best g model ever.

    There tends to be a big reliability difference when you go from a larger displacement engine that didn't need to work as hard to a smaller engine that works much harder, even if it increases the total power, it usually sacrifices reliability.

    As a owner of G wagon, I don’t understand the designers engineers why would you put a camera on a bumper I live in New York people don’t know how to park. They hit you from front and back. That’s the first thing that will go second thing replacing metal plastic. This vehicle man worthy quality, endurance reliability that’s the hallmarks of a good vehicle.

    The electric version is going to be a great rock crawler. Like the Rivian, one motor at each wheel gives it the ultimate direct control and traction rather than trying to constantly modulate a single engine at the front through a multitude of linkages.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP 2 месяца назад +1

      Depends on how it’ll be implemented. ICE with the 9 speed transmission means great gear reduction and the full output of that engine can make its way to one wheel if needed (unlike a multi motor EV which only one motors output can influence a given wheel if the others are stuck or freewheeling).

      Not true. Rack and pinion steering, individual air suspension on front and rear. In fact, the only thing in common with the original G wagon is the styling. Looks the , the fact is absolutely everything is different, even the body structure.

      Like the 911, it's an iconic design statement. In fact, for 95% of the people who buy these, that's all that matters. 85% of the price is simply to "wear it" like a clothing accessory. Only a very select few care it can hang on and climb a wall like a fly.

    Looks like garbage. Always has. The only reason people see it as anything other than garbage is because of the emblem on the front. Put an isuzu badge on it, and no one would buy that garbage. Remember the Isuzu Trooper? Same look, different badge. You want to impress a girl? Buy anything that has that Mercedes elblem on it. If she is not about brand names and labels, you will never impress her with the look of this thing. That's my kind of girl!
    Edit: Isuzu even had an Acura emblem slapped on the front of theirs (Acura SLX), and it still didn't take. Sorry, but only a Mercedes emblem will do.
