Theta Sigma ahahahahah... Me too! I'm not an English native speaker, so English is just kinda hard for me still to understand... As for Irish nevermind ahahahahah!!!
I have some cousins that can speak scottish Gaelic. I'm american so I don't have the slighest idea what they're saying but it's still cool. similar phonetically to this but different.
I always think Gaelic is the opposite of the romance languages (Spanish & Italian) which hardly ever pronounce the 'H.' Gaelic, on the other hand, puts the 'H' every where it can conceivably go. And a few where it can't conceivably go.
Popescu Vicentiu gaelic was brought to scotland by the irish around the time the romans left britain in effect its the same language that has evolved slightly differently become a dialect
A lot of similarities, but vastly different as well! They both evolved into different directions, so native speakers won't understand one another, but I guess they'll feel inclined to try and do so, because of the similarities! Also Gaelic Irish really made quite the come-back, whist Gaelic Scottish is still struggling...
when you do a degree in one, they generally introduce the other around 3rd year. Fluency is easily achievable in both within a short time, though iriah has a more complicated written language.
Right indeed! I hear the similarities between Gaelic Irish and Dutch in sounds and such! I'm not sure though how much they are related, I'd love to find out some day.
It really doesn't sound like Dutch at all. Dutch is more guttural and Irish has a softer and more nasal tone to it. Not sure where you are getting that it sounds Dutch from but they really are nothing alike.

My gosh. I feel like I should be able to understand this.
Love Brendan Gleeson, love that he speaks Irish. Thought I heard the English word 'bling' slipped into his speech, but must have just thought I did.
+L Beatrice Batz - I've heard an "I mean" and "you know" as well... maybe some words are similar.
+Well Mefisto "I mean," "you know," "gosh," "OK" and "Severus" (twice). I want to know what he was saying. :)

There are 2 Gaelic types... Irish and Scottish Gaelic

Is scottish Gaelic similar in some way (mutual intelligible) to Irish?

He is from Dublin, how the hell did he learn irish?
hahaha nice question. like man is irish himself coming from capital of ireland and how he speaks irish right? shocking.
Everyone learns Irish in school and he did it in university.
He majored in it at UC Dublin.
@@cat-videos Not stupid at all, as Irish isn't widely spoken in Dublin. I do wish it would become the main language of the Irish once more.
@@cat-videosbarely anyone in Dublin is fluent in Irish. Irish is spoken as an everyday language in several western regions of Ireland
Lol does he speak Munster Irish? "You know, is an-taBHachtach na rud..."
He's from Dublin and an L2 speaker AFAIK
That is a very odd language. Sounds like nothing else I have ever heard.
It's a Celtic language, most closely related to Scottish Gaelic and Manx
Very similar to dutch and also English but Much more complex
