Thanks for the video. The force diagrams are great as they really aid in explaining what is happening before and during the glide, and why it's necessary to shift your weight during the glide. Too often we are only told the 'what' (as in what you need to do), the force diagrams help to explain the 'why'.
Excellent, David--you really understand the physics of the wing and foil. I've been struggling with jibes/gybes for the last 6 months, but tomorrow I'm going to go practice gliding to really focus on the feel of the foil without the wing holding me up. You are a master. Sub'd as well.
Thanks! Be sure to watch the video on speed control that releases tomorrow morning at 10 am (EDT I assume). It tells just how to use both exercises to learn jibes!
why did you just make this clip now?? Why NOT 1 year ago or at least 6 months ago!!!!!... 😭😢 This is sooooo important. I am going to practice it now... By the way, your recent tacking instructional clip also mentioned 'the glide'! Now, I can do tack (toe side only) ! Although I still touch down before I start foiling again,... but at least I can toe side tack to be in the riding position again.. Thank you soooooo much!!! 😍🥰
@@wingcoachdavidI am going to write some words at one of your clips soon, but for turning, especially for tacking, being able to glide during the turning is soooo important... I think it is less aggressive carving, but more of gliding with turning which enables us to tack.. especially for the beginners like me.. Thank you!!
Thanks! Funny you should request that because my old mission from which I'm retired was to encourage people to meditate. I wasn't so much into guided meditation as silent, though. See faithtopractice.org and my RUclips channel by the same name!

Glad you appreciate that. Not everyone cares "why" so I put that section in the end!

Thanks for the kudos! I had not started winging yet a year ago! I was still windsurf foiling. So glad your tack is progressing well now.

Good tip!
I will do this exercise tomorrow! Nice tutorial. Sub'd.
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video and INCREDIBLE VOICE! Consider uploading meditation sessions as well! 😂
