You're killing it with the music, I love the tone shift you put in when discussing the dominion forces in the pocket around Cardassia prime, it's sinister but mournful highlighting the evilness of the Dominion but also the hopelessness of their situation.
Agreed! Venom Geek is making a good use of some great works. If you're not familiar, check out "The Planets" by Gustav Holst. The "Mars" movement is featured at the beginning. It is my favorite of the suite, but the rest is worth checking out. "Jupiter" you'll likely recognize. "Mercury" is fun, too. The rest are a bit weird to the modern ear, but wonderful nonetheless. I'm not sure what the other two selections are, but I agree that they fit nicely with the events of the video.
_"If I link the __-Pacific War-__ Dominion War to a football match, I can say to you that the first __-half-__ 90% is over, we kicked off after the interval, and we are going to carry the ball into enemy territory for a smashing victory."_ The final countdown has commenced, and the Dominion War draws near its conclusion. Yet a few more surprises are at hand. Interesting comparison of *The Big 3* there. "Klingon disruptors; Federation phasers; and Romulan plasma".
Man I love your work, and and this entire series. I knew this day would approach, but I am still not prepared for the final episode. Keep up the amazing great work.
Have the Neorexan-class Warbirds made their appearance on the battlefronts? I'm sure the Romulan admirals have been hungering to deliver a rude shock to the Dominion with them!
Speculation from the back: The Ferengi Alliance now finds itself between the invasion of Cardassian space on one side and the blockade of the Breen Confederacy on the other. They’ve been neutral to this point but the writing is on the wall. Do they perhaps begin to allow the Allies to cross their territory at this point (for a price)?
Reminds me of the post-Kursk counter-offensive and Operation Bagration. Just massive scale attacks up and down the front, because that has the level of resources the attacking side now has at their disposal. Furthermore, Cardassia delenda est.
Will there be any videos covering an in depth look at Damar's rebellion? You can't call it a liberation without showing that the people there want to be liberated.
Nice. However, I always felt that the entire war was more of an uphill-struggle for the Federation, Klingon and Romulan forces. But looking at your breakdowns the Cardassian pocket, it almost seems like a uphill-struggle for the Dominion-Cardassian forces.
At last the Allies launch their long awaited blitzkrieg and hit the dominion in its soft underbelly. Manoeuvring in deep space to encircle frontline positions and force the enemy back or risk encirclement is a classic move, they're also finally using their logistical abilities to support such a massive advance. While the allies are at risk of losing momentum and being rolled back, their advance will likely only cause more and more uprisings across Cardassia as troops see no reason to fight one. Much like the invasion of Italy, most civilians just aren't that into it when it gets onto home turf. As long as the federation stops the two pockets from linking up and secures its backline, then they can wear the dominion down at their own pace.
Great video, very good touch comparing the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire to the United States of America, The British Empire, and the Soviet Union of World War II. And out of curiosity, which one of the powers of the domain war would be the World War 2 equivalent
I mean it is likely the following: Klingons are the British, a once great power that is still strong but in decline; Federation is the United States who has taken a while to tap into its huge industrial/technology base; and the Romulans are the USSR. It doesn't 100% fit because Federation should join the war later on in that scenario instead of the start and the Romulans be invaded.
Yeah, this so reminiscent of the big three alliance of world war two, all fighting and acting in concert towards the downfall of Nazi Germany. Its great to see the federation brilliantly making use of the divide and conquer adage and the divisions within the dominions ranks, present thanks to damar's rebellion as well as their own individual fighting strengths and styles of warfare to tear the dominion into three parts and set the stage for the final gambit in the shape of the battle of Cardassia.
Welcome to the war, gentlemen. We're about to make a final push into dominion controlled Cardassian territory. Our obstacle: a massed hostile fleet numbering a thousand strong. We must stand and fight, we must drive forward, and we must make sure that nobody will be put under dominion boots again. The plans of attack has already been sent to you all. Review it. We strike at dawn. Good luck gentlemen.
Yeah, stardates are inconsistently used (see 'First Contact' day in Voyager "Homestead") but most sources date this final battle to December, @Denzel Thomas . As Wolf 359 was a January, by contrast, usually.
Semi-officially but probably you'd think it took longer even if it was only two seasons of the show officially at war. One would infer there were intervals of more going on.
@@BeyondtheRailz I never tried to really watch through and work it out but a lot of episodes refer to, say, Worf being on convoy escort for months between episodes, and however long they were at AR-558 and references to how long certain campaigns and fronts had taken, even the 'we been fighting so long look how many phaser coils we burned out' etc, so I'm pretty convinced it *had* to have taken longer than just one year per season, even just once war was officially on.
With the picture of fdr Churchill and stalin. I would say fdr is federation the uk i hate to say this the klingons and romulans are the ussr I guess this month would be Normandy

Been binge watching this series and my god, it's fantastic. Beautiful work. Finally up to date! Can't wait for more.
It would have really caused chaos if the borg had decided to show up in Cardassian space lol
Good episode. And the historical parallel was the cherry on top. Really enjoyed :~)

It was a very hectic month!
Excellent! Thank you!
Great episode! I love the Dominion War series.
Thank you for doing this series. I like it very much. Looking out for the next episode!
I'll miss this series when it's over. :(
Wonderful video! It's hard to wait for the next one but please take your time to make it as good as this one is!!!

They don’t exist yet
Yes the first wave was rushed into service for the war. They can be identified by their brown Hull plating.

Victory is life.
I love the Mars Bringer of War theme. The end is coming, and the Dominion is screwed.
DS9 as good as it was made the final assault on cardassia look like a single combined thrust from bajor towards cardassia prime.
That comparison at the end about WW2 is perfect.
Cardassins right now: studing Italy guide to war for dummies.

I wish the writers of the show presented anything close to this amount of strategic thought.

Sounds like the war was won with Romulan brains, Federation brawn, and Klingon blood. I love the World War II comparisons.
