just elaborating for the noobies, it means it's powered by a nuclear reactor. the main reasoning is so that it can remain underwater for a long period of time without needing to come up and refuel. (however, they most certainly do have nuclear subamrines equipped with nuclear tipped torpedos, but it is much less explosive than the fat man and little boy explosions most people think of)

@@Syv_ They can also carry SLBM equipped with a thermonuclear warhead, like the Trident II, not only torpedoes. And if you take the W88 warhead of a Trident II, it is indeed not at all like Little Boy. That one had a 12 kiloton yield.. the W88 is 475 kilotons, an order of magnitude above it.
