When you're bored, and I know we are all at home bored right now, watch the PTXperience series. You get to see so much behind the scenes video of them on tours. You really see how they are so down to earth and friendly. Watching those, and the Superfruit videos were what made me really become a fan of them. I had loved their Christmas music for years, but after feeling like I got to know them as people, I really appreciated their talent so much more.
sabell31 yes and please react to them. Some reactors make a series out of reacting to them. If you do, start back at the beginning. The PTXperience series started in 2014 then followed with 2015, 2018 and 2019. It’s a great way to see their growth over the years and get to know them as people even though You’re descriptions of them were pretty spot on.
I've also never been a die-hard fan of a group or music personality until I discovered Pentatonix. It's crazy how they just grab your attention and draw you in.
They filmed this video while on tour in 2013 i think, the concept of the video was supposed to be a painting but its alive. This is one of my favorite ptx covers because its so emotional and Kirstie just makes me cry every time, they are truly incredible, they have a documentary they made in 2015 called On My Way Home which is them during the On My Way Home tour going through it and finally going home, for everything they have done for me and the other Pentaholics they are truly a blessing! I love them so much! 💙🥺
Savannah Lynn it was in 2014. Mitch’s hair and beard give it away. Plus the making of this is also shown in a PTXperience which they didn’t start until 2014. I’m hoping maybe someday he’ll react to the PTXperience videos to really get to know them and their journey over the years.
Ptx Xtp yeah ive watched all of there PTXperience videos thats how i found out this information i knew it was either 2013 or 2014 because of mitch but i couldn't remember which one, i would love to see them react to old PTXperience episodes that would be so epic! Also I can't wait for them to release happy now so i can buy itttt

They put so much emotion into their performances.
They are exactly as you describe them. They are gracious and goofy and they go out of their way to make sure the fans feel special.
I've never been a super fan of anyone before, either, and I think your assessment is very accurate - I'd only add that, for me, starting as underdogs, working their buns off in the Sing Off, losing the contract they won and then slogging their way up on RUclips adds even more to their appeal for me personally - I teach high schoolers in an alternative school, and I just love rooting for underdogs
Elizabeth Santersero I didn’t know they lost their contract??? I’d say it was a shame but I imagine it game them the motivation to work even harder and come out on top 🤷🏽♂️ they deserve all of their success! Also thank you for the kind words 😁🤗
@@kasianhyronne6387 In the end, I think so too, but I bet it felt like the end of the world for them in the moment. It kind of punches you in the gut when you watch their clips from the Sing Off competition episodes and they mention the recording contract...
The hidden blessing of it is that the contracts you win on the talent shows are often really awful and restrictive, so losing it has given them the freedom to be what they are right now.

Stunned silence. Perfect reaction. And yes, they are extremely authentic. I was fortunate enough to do the VIP experience when I saw them in June of last year. I just can't get over how perfectly human they are. So conversational and genuine while signing autographs. It just made me love them even more.

Hearing the original of this song on the radio always made me think of a pre-break up song between lovers that don't know how to communicate. But this video has the quality of a "family portrait" that I could actually envision on fireplace mantle and the dynamic turns to a dysfunctional family which just resonated even more with me thinking how you don't choose your family like you do other adult relationships.
It's so refreshing to see after so many years there are still new people joining the PTX fan community. This is really fun to watch as an old fan too since it makes me remember when I started listening to them and it truly brings me back and reminds me why I love them so much!

You can really tell how each of them are so connected to the music they make, even if it's in completely different ways. It's a great display in their solo music as well.
Their power over us is almost inexplicable! I love how your relatively-brief-although-now-invested relationship with them allowed you to sum them up so accurately! 💕 I’m curious to hear your quick summation of Matt, too! Congrats on becoming a fully-fledged Pentaholic! 💕
ScrapperK I felt awful when I realised I forgot Matt!! From the little I’ve seen of Matt, he has a smile that just never ends! Every time I see him in non singing clips he’s always smiling and always happy! ⭐️
Kasian Hyronne, as a fellow “Jesus person” along with Matt and Kevin (and Kirstin in a usually less overt way...and, I’m always looking for it in our two boys, of course, based on their roots and their own goodness! 😎), I think you got it perfectly! Matt radiates joy in Jesus to me! I was so happy they chose him for so many reasons, and his very public witness is a huge one! 💕💕💕

I would absolutely LOVE to see you react to at least one of their behind the scenes/bloopers type videos. They are so hilarious and fun, and you get to see how they really interact with each other. It’s so fun watching a new fan watch and react to those!!!

Ugh......sonically, that breakdown & then build up of the harmonies right before the bridge, was like the calm before a storm....a beautiful storm❤ Gets me every time. You + PTX is so magical. And yes, I've met them & they really are WHO they appear to be. Genuinely humble.

The live version of say something at the Orpheum I believe is this version on steroids. Kirstie and Avi, especially Avi at one point during his solo becomes almost incandescent and breathtaking. Please check it out.

I’m late to this party but I love your reactions ❤️ You also seem like a genuinely good person!
The best things about Pentatonix (for me) is that:
1. they stay out of each other’s way vocally. There aren’t any divas when there could be because they are SO talented.
2. Singing, harmonizing, arranging how the song will be sung, figuring out who’s best for whatever that arrangement ends up being, playing an instrument and making sounds like instruments (not just Kevin but you can see more so in this song that they sing notes that sound like string instruments. When Kevin started actually playing the cello, it blended seamlessly since they were singing in the same key). Anyway, I said all that to say singing a cappella is extremely difficult in the first place but all that added on too? 🤯
Lastly, probably my favorite thing is that they don’t disappoint so I go into a new song (or just new to me) with the bar set extremely high. I notice most reactors do too. We all go into it KNOWING they are gonna kill it.
Yet every single time they surpass my (our) expectations and blow our damn minds! HOW? How do I expect greatness yet be surprised and shocked every time??? Just wow!
They don't drain your energy, they give energy to you.
I’m sure this has already been said, but I _strongly_ recommend using headphones for reactions to PTX. The experience is so much better (not the singing itself, mind you, but the experience).
I feel like I hear Kevin and Avi/Matt better with headphones, and makes it overall better. ❤️

I enjoy how excited you get in most of your reviews. The fact that you sit there looking dumbstruck for most of this song is evidence of the power of music. I love the range and depth of emotion that music provides.
I think you have provided the best explanation for the Pentatonix fan base that I have seen. Genuine, authentic, caring, and incredibly talented. I am sorry you don’t get monetized for this channel. Probably has to do with fair use/copyright stuff. When I can I will try to help on Patreon. I want to add that Pentaholics love seeing people hear the music for the first time. Every reaction you do has me then going to re-watch the original video w/o reaction, and others as well.
Jennifer Bogart hello Jennifer! I’ve always believed that you shouldn’t meet your idols because you might not like what you see, but these guys would definitely be the real deal! Also it’s ok about the monitizing, as long as RUclips allow me to keep the channel I’m more than happy 😁
One of my favorites. I love the songs where Kirstie is featured, partly because I just love her voice, and partly because they're not as frequent as Mitch or Scott-centric songs, so I savor them when they come along.
They wanted the video to look like a painting come to life. U should watch some of their PTXperiences, u can definitely see their personalities. It starts at 2014- 2019

This is one of my fav PTX covers - it’s so moving. I love how these 5 people and now Matt, draw you in and you can’t help but want to know them and want the very best for them. I’ve met them all, apart from Avi, and they are genuinely kind and passionate people 💙 great reaction
Kevin is the Spiritual one. He thought about being a preacher for awhile.
Kevin planned on being a medical missionary after he graduated as a physician, I believe. Both Kevin and Avi are spiritual in the broader sense of the word, meaning not necessarily related to religion.
They all are related to religon in some way when the trio were younger they would go to church, as we know kevin is very religious he is a Christan but not devoted, and avi is Jewish
Sure, but spirituality is way more than religion. Avi has a depth of emotion that is evident in everything he does. Even more so now.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head about them. They bring you into their world and make you feel like you know them personally. They have a series of behind the scene videos that they film while their on tour, it's really fun to watch. Can't wait for your next one.
They are the only group that I know of that holds an annual "convention", Pentacon, at which the group's parents and families play a prominent role. In a way I think that keeps them humble and grounded.
As much as I love this song, Kirstie really shines in 'Rather Be' and 'Shallow'.
Jay Holland, have you been able to attend either one yet? (I was able to attend the second one in 2018.) FYI, PTX doesn’t actually hold Pentacon; an amazing committee of Pentaholics organize it. 😀 You are so right, though, about their families attending, being on panels, etc. Scott and Matt did make a surprise (to those attending AND to even the committee) appearance in 2018. 💕
ScrapperK Matt showed up too last time that Scott and Mark did. They both got involved and played PTX games with everyone.

You really do get it now :D. I see what you're saying with their personalities. I actually think it's quite funny, because in certain songs, they can come off as a little intimidating and larger than life with all that talent and serious expressions. Getting to see Scott behind the scenes after only seeing him in videos like Sound of Silence was a shock :D.

I’m very much a personality person when it comes to artists - like if someone has good songs but I don’t really connect with them then I don’t care that much for what they put out. It’s why I’m a fan of pentatonix and little mix as well because you can tell they are just genuinely really nice people who care about their fans and are grateful. I think you’re my favourite pentatonix reactor because you also seem very genuine 😃

FYI, you are helping me fall in love with PTX all over again. Also, I’d kind of lost some of my Avi excitement, but I’m rediscovering him and his music during his live streams during these stay-at-home months.

Kasian Hyronne, I was beyond sad for us when he stepped back from PTX but relieved for him and his family. I’m so happy he’s still sharing his music and himself with us. His “Quarter Past Four” digs into my heart (in the best way art can do) as I feel it’s his musical “goodbye PTX life”/“hello new life” just as PTX’s “Dancing on My Own” does to me as it feels like their goodbye to him and their first incarnation (but without a clear sense of what was to come next). They all have added so much to my own life and likely will continue to do so! 💕

I never met Avi but met Matt and the rest of them and they are exactly as you described, especially Mitch! LOL but they are humble because they know their fans are a major reason they have made it this far. After the Sing Off, the label dropped them soon after so they went to RUclips and started making videos and increased their fanbase so they love us Pentaholics!
Avi is absolutely the same. I've met him a few times at his solo concerts and he's kind, funny, goofy, thoughtful, and nowadays so joyful he simply brightens your day.
Hey Jennifer! From the little I know of Matt I would love to meet him! I got the chance to see him in a live stream with Kirstie and he didn’t stop smiling! I love people that keep everything light hearted and meet every situation with a smile! Also if a group of people with the talent and likability these guys have can be let go by a particular label, that particular label might not be the best judge of characters to have representing you ... ☕️ ... I’m glad they persevered and came out on top 🙌🏼
@@kasianhyronne6387 Honestly, the label didn't even get time to know them before they dropped them but I'm sure they are regretting it now! And YASSSSSS, I LOVE Matt! He is ALWAYS smiling! Even in some of the serious/slower songs they do, you can't help but still see a smile somehow. Him and Kevin are like brothers! I'm so glad they took their time finding a new bass and didn't worry about their fan base disappearing until they found one. Such awesome, amazing people! I really think you would love Standing By. I saw Avi last summer solo and I saw Mitch and Scott as Superfruit. Avi is one of the most humble people I've ever seen. He was super enjoyable because he is genuinely appreciative for the love he gets and he explains how and why he wrote the song he's going to sing. I enjoy that. Together they are great but if the venue is rough or the sound people get it wrong, it can be hard for them to click really well. Superfruit was possibly the most fun show I have ever been to. Mitch is super sassy but also you can tell a love. Scott is the incredibly personable and you can tell that he loves performing. I saw them in a teeny club in Boston and I think Scott took the time to make eye contact with every single person he could see from stage. It was a really small club. You don't necessarily have to react to them, but if you want to see more of what they're like personally, the PTXperience series (on RUclips and more recently on IGTV), behind the scenes videos, and Superfruit not-music videos are all good examples of that.
They are awesome and put their all into each song. I love Avi's bass. By chance have you listened to Home Free? Tim Foust is my favorite one with his bass. Him and Avi sing Ring of Fire and it's beautiful.

Honestly I think this is their best cover. Almost all their covers are great, but this one blows the original right out of the water because it's so much better. I can't stand to listen to the original but this is one of my favorite songs they do.

Fun fact: the reason her eye is partially closed is bc she had just gotten her eyebrow pierced and wasn’t used to the weight above her eye yet.
