Nintendo-developed game, but you should already know that.
Something about wands and Koopalings. Who knows?
Pretty much a port based off the SNES version(?)...Iunno. Much wasn't changed, but some noteworthy changes are lives limit increased to 999, some sound bites added, and Spade Panels can change to other panels, allowing more extra lives to be obtained (Super Leaf gives seven lives). GBA version also has World-e, which uses the e-Reader. The levels range from easy to friggin' difficult.
This longplay goes through the main game while clearing every stage and stuff without warping and clears all the stages of World-e. Spade Panel was played once. Matching game...or whatever, was played once. I spawn the Treasure Ship a few times (found out late how to do it. I never did understood the mechanics until now.) Deaths kept intact. Because I know someone is going to question about getting Star panels all the time: running at the goal with a full P-Meter, when given enough time and no enemies in the way, will give it to you pretty much all the time. I did it all the time on the SNES version. World-e was played with no skills (Mad Dash is all kinds of hard.). Save files were used to play the World-e stages because it is kinda impossible to scan e-Reader cards. No saves that has the actual Mad Dash stage exists (hell, the card wasn't made available to the public), so a brave soul remade it and made it available in a save.
This is the greatest Mario game ever! Better than Super Mario World. Better than all the other Mario games! Yes, I said it.
Come at me, bro! -

I loved to mimic Mario's catch phrase when I was little. Whenever I would finish a big meal, afterward, I would say, "Woo hoo! Just what I needed!" It made my parents laugh.
lol, I used to act the same whenever I had finished homework. "Mario Number One ! Woo hoo !"
I love Mario but I didn't make these kinda sounds compared to you. Whoop-da-freaking-doos.
I do mimic Mario and Luigi’s catch phrases in this game and of course when clearing a stage in every world in New Super Mario Bros
And also I do Toad and sometimes Rosalina and Princess Peach’s phrases from games like Super Mario Advance 1 Super Mario Bros 2 from Gameboy Advance and Super Princess Peach From DS to make it a catch phrase just like what I did with Mario and Luigi in every game of Super Mario Bros but Rosalina only in Super Mario 3D World

When I was six years old I used to play this game back in the day for Gameboy, it was one my favorite!
Jay jones me too 😁
Same with me
Saame. I was 5 when my Mom got this for me in Nov 2004
I was 10
This is the 1st game that introduced me to Mario and the video gaming industry as a whole! Thank you Nintendo!
+MarioLover (The Half Boy Half Demon) Dude I remember you from google plus.
Michael, The Hero of the Future. Hey! Michael! Wazzup, man?!
+MarioLover (The Half Boy Half Demon) Nothing much. I didn't know this is your first Mario game?
Michael, The Hero of the Future. Actually this was. I first got into the video gaming industry with this game and Staurt Little 2 both
for the GameBoy Advance.
Zachary and Michael The Half Demonic Bros. X then you had a hell of a beginning with videogames mate. I remember playing it when I was 11 years old now I'm 31 and this game still keeps its charm and awesomeness!
It was so refreshing to see this! I used to play this so much as a child and I felt all sorts of chills when the familiar theme songs came on. Sounds goofy, but it’s nostalgic! My favorite parts were the levels with everything enlarged and the levels with the creepy sun haha.
There is something about this game that interests me from our games today
The simplicity of it, but the complexity of it.
Umusing yet amazing comment.

I remember... My old adventures... This was so good!
I love you Mario!!!!

My first ever video game that holds a special place in my heart that has changed my life forever.
So basically, an Italian plumber that eats shrooms while riding a dinosaur that steps on turtles, Super Mario is hands down the most randomly put together game to have ever existed.
And the greatest!
A lot of the choices made were due to the technology available.
@@shroomzed2947 Japan has always been ahead of everyone in technological advancements. They're even 150 yrs ahead of America.

I totally grew up with this game!!! Ah the nostalgia. I remember being so damned frustrated on the sky part of World 5, and a ton of Worlds. I also loved how it's really challenging! 👍🏼
You were frustrated, but liked the challenge? That makes no sense
what are you talking about? It makes total sense
@@44bigfreeze are you slow? It made perfect sense
Brings me back to the childhood, best game ever
this port was from your childhood? wow I feel bad for you.
the real game master 2035 like your faxe
the real game master 2035 everyone likes smb3
the real game master 2035 not sure why you feel bad lmfao this is the 2nd best version of mario 3, the 1st being the mario all stars version
@Paul Gilbert Nah, GBA and All Star are equal while the original is the worse.
This video makes me wanna play this game right now😭

I praise this man for beating the game so easily. I almost quit at the world 7 airship. After beating it, I felt so happy. Then world 8 was fine for me.
2:33 World 1 Grass Land
14:28 World 2 Desert Hill
28:23 World 3 Ocean Side

2:06:45 World 8 Castle of the Koopa(Bowser's Castle)
2:07:03 World 9 Warp Zone
2:23:43 World E (Level Card)
the music after beating the gunship brings back memories, its been a long time.
I played this game when I was 8 years old and I kept cracking up when Mario dies and says "oh! Mama Mia!" It was my first Mario game ever and I could never beat it.
Long play's are so much better than people who divide parts.
It's not called a longplay just because it's not split into many tiny parts. But I agree with you, I hate when people split their movies into 10-100 parts.
When he did fire emblem, (GBA) he did ten part long play (not for 10 minutes per part but 4 hours X 10 equals a whole 40 hour long play!
ye your right
Jhoanna Quintana Victorio cool
The launching fireballs to the rhythm of the background music was cracking me up haha
I am 24 and oh my god. This brings back so many memories. I remember having my babysitter beat the water level for me because my parents were coming home and I could not beat it. Waking up to the level completed was so fucking unreal.
Godd the memories!!! 56 seconds in and just the audio is bringing me back!! Thank you for this! :)
I used to hate this game as a kid, but as I've gotten older, my appreciation for this game has definitely risen to astonishment:D
An interesting fact that people may not know is that the Water Land music is what would become the Fairy Fountain music from The Legend of Zelda
All versions of this game are masterpieces. For me personally though, I always end up playing the NES version because I love the aesthetics.
This right here is what introduced me to video games, Nintendo, I thank you so much for this
The level with the sun, & World 3-6 were the most nostalgic to me... Especially World 3 for being so big & mysterious, and I just love the water levels despite being a bit challenging. The fortresses there were also really cool, like the one with the haunted lamps and boo mats... damn I want to play through this again now
My childhood summarize in 4 hours
Wow... he got all the matched cards in one try...
You can tell he been playing for a minute.
What a pro...
mario
Yeah
+D-MMA no there's a trick to it: if ur at full speed BEFORE the card thing is on screen and then jump, u get the star more often. trust me, it usually works
+David Cooper when I said "and then jump" I mean when it is on screen... so about a second after u see it if u know what I mean
+David Cooper basically what he did
Damn this shit was my childhood along with super Mario bros 2 (gba)
so was mine
epicesteban123 , is this US or JP version?
*gets frog suit*
Mario: WOOHOO! JUST WHAT I NEEDED!!!
Me: Are you kidding me?!
@SpookyFTW there good for water levels, but that's it for positives.
omg you are my hero :D I'm always way to nervous and get sweaty hands, so in 10 years of my childhood i nerver made it up to world 7 without the flute :D thank you for uploading this!!! :D
I loved this game so hard so nowadays omg ❤️😭
So nostalgic, brings me that warm fuzzy feeling.
i love these longplays
When I got my DS i Got new super mario bros...that game was so easy. After that I got this and it REALLY STOOD OUT how pathetically easy new super mario bros was after playing this. I wish they would put some challenge in their new 2d games.
I've only played super mario bros 3 for the wii
+David I do find Super Mario Land 2 much easier honestly.
Only Wario's Castle gave me some challenge. The rest of the game was a piece of cake.

I'd never think we'd see the day that the Wii U VC version of this game would get the World-e levels, but it's amazing! I wish GBA games were released on the Nintendo 3DS, but it was better late than never, I suppose.
When I played this game, I got all the 1 ups, the coins, matched the cards on the first try, line up the pictures on the first try and get 3 star cards, flour cards and mushroom cards at the end. I was unbeatable. Now I can sit back and enjoy someone else. Thanks for making me enjoy my childhood once again. My favourite powers were the p wings, the hammer, and the one that turns you invisible stone. I love this game, Mario Kart and the Mario game that lets you kill enemies with vegetables. I also like how you can get over 100 lives on this game. I also loved the airships.
First game I ever got when I was little. Best game ever!
I played this game a lot on my pink GBA SP when I was a kid. Man, the memories. 😊
Good memories man
I enjoy reliving games like this. World 1 and the sky ship theme are my ringtones. World 1 is text and sky ship is default. Beating Bowser and his kids was always my favorite part, but always got me laughing as you only see the first king transformed, but toad going to all the kingdoms and seeing all the kings as animals.😂😂
I remember playing this game back at 2003 when I was 5! One of the first Gameboy games I played. Nostalgia at it’s finest!
Brings back so many memories, I loved playing this game
This game took YEARS for me to beat but is finally did it a couple years ago. It's still hard to this day but one of my favorites for sure
The standalone release of the game will work very good if you read an e-Reader cart to access World E.
Or install the Virtual Console ROM. Which has all 32 e-reader levels unlocked by deafult.
The classic.
My first mario game the feels...
Super Mario Bros 3 on NES is my favorite video game ever. I used to have this on Gameboy Advance. I remember buying it in NY.
I’m impressed you nailed the card flip game more than beating the game itself.
Thank you for being here for me at 2:30am while I'm writing my 3,500 word essay due in tomorrow and I have just over 2,000 words done.
Brings me back to my childhood. Thanks.
Hey Everybody, don't forget that the game is also for the dsi lite, not just the:NES, SNES/Wii(Super mario allstars), and GBA
Just grab your super mario advance 4 game card, insert the game in to your dsi lite, and enjoy your game.
Dj Gamer The bear you cant play on *DSI* only *DS AND DS LITE*
Man I have seen this Video when I was 6-7 and I had this game when a little kid omg the memories
I wonder why Nintendo didn't make the world 4 castle boss a giant as well.
It might too easy to stomp on it
The first Mario game I played ever
I loved this game when I was little and I still LOVE this game! Memories!
I remember that and it's so funny to think on it! I remember when i was 5-6 years old i played that game all the time on my gameboy!
I remember getting so happy when i got the hammer! So i could go to the secret locations!
I was only 9yrs old but i remember very well
these air ships really burn some ammunition
There’s something about the older games that feel so eerie the new just feel so light hearted, still a great game though!!!
my cousin had this game, I always made him bring the game whenever he came over
Had this game and lived it
found my old gameboy and i’m fr playing this after a whole ass decade
i love super mario bros 3 my childhood right there, but i like the NES version tho. 😳
It's a feature you could unlock by linking the game to an e-Reader. Scanning different e-Reader cards could get you access to different power-ups (like the cape from Super Mario World) and levels that weren't in the original game.
This game is hard
Brandon Cazares And yet not as hard as Mario 2 Japan aka Lost Levels
@@bemasaberwyn55 nah the last few worlds of Mario 3 get a lot harder than Lost Levels ever was. I was shocked when I finally played Lost Levels and discovered it's not really that hard at all, after years of hearing constantly how bad it was. But yeah, especially if you're good at SMB 1, lost levels is quite a breeze. Whereas the later worlds of Mario 3 get insane at times, it's good that it's really easy to stack up dozens of extra lives on mario 3, because you definitely need them
Honestly the only really hard parts of Lost Levels are the maze levels. Where you have to go a specific route otherwise it resets, and eventually you run out of time and die because you can't find your way through it. Those levels are redonkulously convoluted at times. But in the end it's just about memorisation. Once you know the route, it becomes very simple
And for all the talk about lost levels, it's one of the easiest games for the NES. Most NES games were hard as balls. Like something like Castlevania or Mega Man is so much harder than Lost levels ever is
best game ever on gameboy, this is my childhood in games
I love this game and it's one of my favorite games of all time and one of my favorite BGA games if not my favorite one of all time. :D

This game is ultimate . I was really enjoy it
in my childhood.
This is an Amazing game. Best Mario game ever. Also my first along side with Mario and Luigi Super star saga.
I used to play this game when I was 7 years old. Sadly, the game broke and I had to get rid of it. This game's real cool!
Maybe you had a counterfeit cartridge.
Do you have a GBA i can show you a app
This is my favorite version of the game
Mine too. Because it feels good for having E-reader levels, almost like DLC on GBA...😅
This game was my childhood.
I wish there was an advance 5. It could have been the same thing, but it would be remasters of Super Mario Bros., and once you beat it, you unlocked Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels. (It would still have Mario Bros.)
1:00-1:08 King: "Hey,that's my wand!" "Give it back to me right now!" "Hey,how dare you change me into a 🐍,change me back to myself right now!"
Basically the only super Mario advance game i've ever played
This game is a masterpiece
This was the first game I ever played. This brings back so many memories...
I am amazed at the fact the life counter doesn't max out at 99 like in the originals
Mario Jumps like Sonic when he get the Star.
+Alex Moreno no shit ikr
Sonic didn't exist when the original game came out
Super Mario [Charles Martinet, voice]
2:38 Super Mario: Let's-a go! 2:44 Woo-hoo! Just what I needed. 2:51 Woo-hoo! Just what I needed.
This was the superior version of SMB3 honestly. The first version I played and the 2nd Mario game I ever played. The new story elements, the GBA nature of the sounds really makes it all iconic, the voices also make the game more alive and refreshing, it's a neat touch :)
The vibrant colors and music with simple yet fun gameplay. This was the best version of SMB3 for me. SMW was already perfect to begin with however :P
Woo hoo Just what I need it,lucky longplay! =D
Ahh... Reliving the nostalgia.
2012: First played my dad's NES. Loved all the games he had (Not jekil and hyde) I had alot so one day he put the SMB3 cart in the game and...
I HATED IT
I couldn't save and everytime I was bored I cut it off and had to go back to the beggening I hated it so bad
7 years later.... When to NJ somehow I found it on the bottom of the stairs with the cursed game and I said no to playing it but my inner nostalgia said yes so I played it and then 3 days later...
Beaten... I...LOVED....IT i had a nostalgia attack i was so happy i got to beat my accursed game
This kids is why you shouldn't hate games. *DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID*
Thanks.
Did you not save throughout your entire GBA run?
I literally spent about 5 hours on just the last ONE level... 😂😂
Haha me too, but I was young xD
Cuz the music and airship and tankship and ships? Yeah same
You guys know what's funny? The overworld theme of World 3 is the same music as the one from the Legend of Zelda games when you encounter a great fairy
I had this game the memories 💛
the version I grew up with :')
nostalgia's coming back like a flood
You missed the special toad house on the third stage... the first flute was there. I know you probably just skiped it because you woudn't use it, but if you didn't know getting it affects the almont of % completion.
it was great game I addicted it when I was young I know every thing about it and I still remember secret ways can transfer you to any land you want with a stair
In my honest opinion, this is the best version of Mario 3. The original NES cartridge is great & the All Star version is amazing. But this is just an whole new level of amazing.
I had a gameboy advanced when I was 7 years old and have this game.

world 7 theme song..... my favorite memory
This is an amezing port, however the e -reader addon is clumsy to use and you need to collect all cards for it, not that practical, but it's again amezing how nintendo combined many elements from other mario games into just 1 mario game, like dragon coins or throwing p switches etc,,,,
also nice they had put some levels from supermariobros 1 in it in mario 3 perspective,
and finaly bowser appears in his airship.
Backthen i could,ve only dream about it.
I really wish some one will port these extra levels to the nes version were they should put to it’s associated corresponding world ,that would be really exciting.
One of the best video games of all time
i miss u gba hopefully nintendo will be cool and bring you virtual console to us regular 3ds gamers at some point.
I loved this game so much.
I don't know who, but the Ice Land theme music reminds me if Lavender Town music!
