Wow! This was so helpful! You see, I work in retail and can't tell you how much this has changed my life. Now when I come into work I can get strait into cleaning the store. Your technique is flawless. I am truly blessed to have discovered this video!! THANK YOU!
Quickly to the important points while other videos tend to be overly long. In particular: dry sweep first, wet mop if necessary giving sufficient time for dirt to dislodge, damp mop, maintenance of mop and bucket afterwards.
Hi AMS JV, its recommended to use a detergent with a neutral ph to prevent any wear or dulling of the floor finish. Neutral detergents come in a few different strengths and concentrations, and are also listed as cleaners. For daily use try this Neutral cleaner from Betco www.amresupply.com/part/1380400-PH7-Neutral-Daily-Floor-Cleaner
Thanks for watching. As mentioned at 0:56, room temperature water is what should be used. Hot water is not necessary and will actually result in more of the detergent evaporating rather than being actively used for cleaning.
I had to watch something like this, no ones ever showed my how to mop thow I had 2 techniques, and now I know the name. Damp mop being single stage or wet mop where you wet the shit out of the floor then go along and basicly pick up the water in the second step. Never been employed as a cleaner but once or 3 times a year it happens because i just wanted to do an area I work in and wonders if my wet floor then dry was worng but actually right. Only thing differnt is maby wet mop you let it sit and possibly dry a little before going over it again. I probly go over board with amount of water but it worked lol. I guess damp mop is good for corners with wood etc you don't want water damaged. Arras I've ever done are concrete that got done maby 3 times a year.
There are a couple things you can try. By using dust mop treatment, more soil particles will be removed during dust mopping learn more here: ruclips.net/video/u1EzH0CA3N4/видео.html You can order dust mop treatment here: www.amresupply.com/part/0352300-Betco-Dust-Mop-Treatment-Aerosol Also as the floor finish breaks down, the finish becomes rough and somewhat porous, meaning more dirt will become embedded in it. Try top scrubbing the floor: ruclips.net/video/aXYxVHxSNdc/видео.html Hope this helps!
I have a new job in my homeless shelter mopping. I don;'t see how putting dirty water back onto a mopped floor makes sense. Can you expain how the floor gets cleaner using dirty water?
Hi John, thanks for watching. You are right, after a certain point, mopping the floor with dirty water is not ideal. With a mop bucket with a single chamber, the water will start to collect dirt as you mop more of the floor. Its hard to say at what point you should change the water as this will differ depending on how soiled the floor is. If you see that the mop is not removing dirt and is starting to spread it around then that's an indicator that you should change the water. Alternatively you can get a mop bucket with 2 chambers, one for rinsing and one for the clean solution. These 2 bucket systems are good for when you want to cover a large area without changing the water.
Thanks for watching. It is sanitary for most purposes. When it comes to special workplaces like hospitals or clean rooms in manufacturing, there will be different procedures to maintain a higher standard.

Thank you for watching. Not all tasks require the same level of protection. The PPE required will depending on the chemicals you are using so always read the labels and follow the recommendations for each product.
Hi Pramod. When cleaning floors with a high amount of dried and embedded soil, the mop and mop bucket will naturally collect a lot of that dirt. This is why its essential to rinse afterwards. Every building is different, and this is also dependent on geography. In the winter in Canada, soil and salt from the snow is quickly tracked into buildings that don't have proper floor matting. Some floors will have a lot of dried dirt and footsteps in high traffic areas. In cities that are dry most of the time, more of the dirt can be removed through dust mopping.

HI Kazerit, thank you for sharing your opinion. If you properly dust mop a floor before hand, then string mops are quite useful at cleaning floors, especially as the weight of the mop helps remove dirt. Many professionals choose to use them. What do you consider a "real normal mop"? What mop do you prefer to use?
Hi Daniel, thanks for sharing your experiences. You are right, Autoscrubbers will provide a superior level of clean. In larger facilities, they work well and make sense, but not all buildings have the budget or size for an autoscrubber. Damp and Wet mopping still has a place in regular floor maintenance. There are several consideration when choosing a mop material. Synthetic mops will have the best anti-microbial properties and will be the most resistant to bacteria and bad smells. Overall these mops will not smell as bad as a cotton mop. If you dry a mop and prevent it from staying wet, then you are limiting bacterial growth. Soaking in bleach might help prevent any bacterial growth but the mops have to be rinsed properly. Bleach is very alkaline, and has a pH around 12, chlorine residue on the mops can affect the pH of your neutral floor cleaner if not rinsed properly. Flat mops are definitely useful in hospital settings especially since they have to be single use. Also some of this might be a review but I would recommend watching this episode: The Principles of Cleaning ruclips.net/video/qRPe4IR79u8/видео.html - It covers Soils / Surfaces, pH and cleaning agents.
>>>Get a real normal mop.>>> What's a real mop? This is EXACTLY the mop to use...there is none better. Just ask every hospital, factory, battleship, or Broadway stage that mops multiple times per day. I work at a facility that invested hundreds of dollars in Swiffer type mops. 6 months later, all are broken. And talk about just pushing around the dirt! No, my friend. THIS is the proper mop. Just look around.

Some of tips are great but the mop and bucket in the video looks itself dirtier which is not good sign
