  • In this tutorial, I wanted to try a few things, video is experimental but useful. So, I didn't use any particular standard, except 4-inch base centerset, everything else is approximately dimensioned.
One important step within this tutorial is at 6:55, where cutting depends on the previous approach to that point, so, basically, if "Cut" doesn't work, "Intersection" will. It's a trick, in general. Everyone could be easily confused.
The rest should be straight forward, and easy to understand.
One important note, since all tutorials, doesn't have a voice to cover every step, at the moment TutorialField website is under development, so, every tutorial here will be explained there because it gives far more space to cover any specific issue. The bad thing is that the development will take some time. And if anyone is confused by something, please report, or feel free to ask, it might happen that I'm using some steps to avoid a certain problems that may occur.

Wow... I never know freeCAD can do fairly complex shapes as well. Amazing.

    Hi! Your videos are great!
I know that it takes a lot of work to get a video done, but do you intend to make videos like you did in the getting started series? I mean, using text to describe the steps used.
    Thanks again for those videos!

Thanks! Yes, i'll continue those soon, for now i need more of this product based tutorials, which are more demonstrational, they will be a part of tutorials where i'll go through in depth, within step by step tutorials, as references. There will be more once TutorialField website is done, but it won't be very soon.
I'll return to "Getting started" tutorials, also, as soon as i can, with one change only, i'm switching to 0.17 version, instead of 0.16, which i'm using now.

how do you center an item in sketch?, is there a shortcut key? thanks

    • @AndarionCGart

» To center two objects, for example circles, two center points and axis must be selected, and "Symmetry" constraint applied, shortcut is the "S" key. (icon with the two arrows pointing to each other)
» If one object has to be centered along axis, for circle, center point and axis must be selected, and "Fix a point onto object" constraint applied, or, SHIFT+O shortcut keys. (icon with an arc and point combined)

Thanks! Texture is really simple, and easy to create with any vector software.
