A bit of dejavu. I did the exact same trip this weekend. Thursday to Sunday. We had our South Island babes on bike rally in Omarama. I had some seriously crazy winds and gusts going from Burkespass to before Twizel, going there and back. Hail, horizontal rain going over Arthurs today. Was freezing. Some sun too. 1070 km done on my bike. Longest ride so far. 4 passes in 48 hours. Arthurspass, Porterspass, Burkespass, Lindispass. Went from Greymouth to Omarama. Day trip to Alexandra and back to Omarama. Then today back to Greymouth. Thanks for sharing.

I went out today & was ok heading North but big black clouds behind me.On way back I stopped in at mates & about 30mins later started to pizzle got on bike & about 1km into ride pissed down & got wet.Ordered a Kreiega US 10L dry bag when got home to carry wets with me.Rain over pants 👖 would of been good today atleast my jacket is pretty waterproof except external pockets but a rain over jacket be good as well & new bag carry everything I need.
Totally worth it to have the gear to keep stuff dry, can be a tough call to make sometimes going out on a day ride, to take the gear, or not to. The odd time ya regret the decision. 😀
We got caught in the same weather Q, my last video, but we were a bit further South, the wind was brutal in Otago........Actually, just checked, we were out the weekend before. I think it snowed in most places during the rally weekend...
I dont mind the snow, unless its making a coating on the road, then the trip really slows down on two wheels. I find this time of year, the weather can one day be great and the next a wintry type blast. Hard to keep up with it. 😁

Haha, never been to that store. Though been past so many times. Totally get the feeling of seeing and Wanting to be on a ride when I can't.
