Never clicked so fast. But i saw NF! Edit: Nate himself has says that this song has 2 meanings. 1.) He felt as a child that his voice wasn't heard and he was lwtting himself down. 2.) He also felt like he was letting everyone down that was around him. Also, the old man was him. He was speaking to his younger self.
I hioe you watched till the end. At the end, the old man's wife walks up and says "Nathan" which is NFs real name. The old man also had the "Real" tattoo on his arm. This is an older NF looking back and watching the struggle and letting himself down for not doing enough back then to help.
The song is misleading from the music video He is talking about his dad, but in the video he's watching himself through these struggles feeling helpless because the problems he has are out of his hands
Fun fact: the “female” vocals in let you down, remember this and many other NF songs are actually NF himself with a pitch adjuster, hence you can hear how similar they are in this song when they sing along side each other :)
The Qounaistado nah, the only vocals I can think of that are similar in the search are the vocals in “Only”, but they are actually female vocals that have been pitch adjusted higher
@@harley5506 yeah but the language used in the song makes it seem like it's his father. Or maybe it's a synthesis of both ideas. What if it does represent his father but also his fear of BECOMING his father.

This song relates back to the relationship between NF and his parents. NF ended up living with his dad because his mom’s boyfriend would physically abuse him. In the end, she wound up dying of a drug overdose while he was in high school.
As a man I have no problem admitting this song makes me tear up everytime I hear it cause how much it touches personally. It cuts deep what he’s speaking on and it’s a pain that is absolutely indescribable. So much respect for him as an artist for this song.
I think the moral of this song is NF was a child who didn't feel safe or protected. His mom overdosed and died and his step dad abused him. NF didn't have anyone to trust during those years yet he feels he needs to be the one who's sorry. It sounds like C-PTSD to me as well.
I know I'm a little late to the party but I remember hearing this track for the first time while painting my house and getting emotional. when I watched the video I just sobbed. it describes the relationship between me and my parents perfectly when I was young and suffering from trauma and mental illness. they were so disappointed in my behavior and so blind to the fact it was all a cry for help and our relationship broke down as a result. only when I was older and healthier did I realize how deeply haunted my parents are by their own struggles with addiction, mental illness, and childhood abuse and have been able to forgive them. they were trying the best that they could with the tools they had to work with. this track focus is on the pain of a child who is going through it and the dad is just sitting there, watching him burn. but in the chorus there is a hint of the dad acknowledging that he, too, is battling his own demons and is apologizing for not recognizing his son's pain. thanks for the reaction video!

The Old man in the video is Older NF looking back at his younger self saying he let himself down during his current time. At the very end of the music video and elderly lady walks out and says “Nathan” to the older man which is NF real name. Its a plot twist but its suppose to have a double meaning behind it and how this song can relate as far as parents in a listening p.o.v! Please wait till the end of the video on some of his songs because he throws in small clues. But great reaction #Firesquad 🔥🔥
It's wild, I love his symbolism in everything in his videos, black balloons equals every burden he carries, he can easily let them go but decides to hold on and doesn't know why but he needs them at the same time
I finally get the music video it's like NF has been through so much and his dad or guardian has done NOTHING TO HELP him. HOWEVER when he dies or never speaks to them and all that they are now sorry but it's too late now he "died" as of the music video but in the lyrics he doesn't even visit anymore or even talk to them so their sorry's never reach.
He said it was half about his dad, but it the end of the video, the lady says "nathan" meaning its also about himself seeing himself going through things and not doing anything
NF said in interviews that the main purpose is him letting himself down and not pulling himself out the fire or saving himself from drowning. However, he also said in an interview that there are other things that the song is about too and confirmed that its not specifically about his dad. He didnt get into specifics as to what the other issues were cause he wants fans to have their own interpretations of the song. He usually never explains his songs in crazy detail for that reason
I love that this song works on a few levels, 3 mainly, he/we might feel like we’ve let God down, let a parents down, and let our future selves down.. it’s deep and universal and it’s one of the greatest songs of all time in my opinion
I haven't read previous comments on the message of this vid, but as this song found me at a pretty similar point with my parents, I view this one from a pretty set perspective. In the vid, they're both singing the chorus to each other, yet with every verse, it's NF reaching out to him despite there being no reciprocation. The only time we get any reaction from the father is when he's dead, when there's no reconciliation. Don't take back what you said just because I'm gone; apologies are useless when there's no one around to accept them
NF is such a brilliant song writer! such powerful verses that make you think. Not enough of this kind of music these days so it's nice to see a guy like NF get heard.
I pushed my son in the water an he learned to swim. I needed him strong. I taught his little sisters to swim to push them to learn. Its just us 4. My son is 18 now an he is strong for when im gone an his sisters will help him learn to be a better man when I am gone. They dont always get the method to my madness but when they hit that age. They will smile back an say dam Dad still teaching us. Love your upbeat vibe you share. Hope you get all that you reach for.
4:25 What he meant is that he moved out and found a career in rap, so this means NF is dead to his guardian/parent. hence the coffin and the young man's body in it. bascially, I am alive, but to you I'm dead.
He said in an interview that this song is open to interpretation...it was not directed to anyone specifically but its a song about either him letting someone down...or someone letting him down #firesquad
Yo the song is about how he doesn't want to become like his parents. If you let that play out till the end you would see a woman come out and say "Nate" . NF is the old guy and he's looking back saying sorry I let you (Younger NF) down. Basically he became/is becoming everything he doesn't want to be .
I love this song but honestly when I saw the video I didn't know that the two boys were drowned and burned I just thought it was a story but I think the song you should listen to is this one NF - How could you leave us
the song is about himself, he's looking back at how his life was when he was younger and felt like he let himself down because he didn't do anything to better himself
He is singing about how he fellt like he let himself down but it can have diffrent meanings for diffrent people. he also felt like his voice was not worht to listen to and that he dont matter for his parents and so. ( I know it´s a old video but who cares)
Song is about his father for sure. But! NF is amazing at incorporating imagery to meaning. First scene you see is NF is drowning this represents his helplessness into depression second scene is the fiery car showing his anguish and anger ending scene of him being in the coffin is what he lost over the course of his life he lost a part of himself because he allowed depression and anger take over him. The man you see in this video is NF himself, he is reminiscing his past and seeing how he allowed these feelings lead up to where he is today (or future self) he displays sadness because he knows he lost a part of himself that he will never get back and can’t really forgive himself for not seeking help.
He tries to symbolize that his dad never helped him through any difficult moment even when he lost his mum off of pills and he also refers to this in other songs about his dad not supporting him. The burning car and the drowning symbolize the different situations that his dad didn't help him with. He refers with the phrase im drowning in others songs too or with the phrase im trapped.
The song goes over many struggles in his life. Beginning is about his mother, middle is about flase friends, and end is about himself letting himself down
It's basically about how there's two separate versions of him in the video the one that's drowning and in the car and in the coffin is the younger version of himself as to where the old man that's watching all of it happen is the older version of himself he actually explains this an interview and says that if she knew what he knew now back then he could have better helped himself to not go through a lot of the situations that he'd went through and instead of just sitting by and watching he could have helped himself and been more self-aware of the issues and problems that he struggled with throughout his life so to sum it all up it's basically like the old saying goes with age comes wisdom is what he's trying to say in the song deff pass anything that NF writes is amazing he is my all time fav new aged Rapper another good one that you should definitely check out is NF - I Just Wanna Know deff react to that one if you liked let you down it's like that but it has a different meaning and a different situation...
So this song went triple platinum which is also mentioned in his song “why” (I believe it’s one of the first NF songs you reacted to) when he says: “Went triple platinum.... yeah, ok ok I guess” he also mentions it later on in “why” again when he says: “you’ve only heard of “Let you down” well then you’re behind”
It’s about his dad. He has always felt like a disappointment to his father and step dad. I can’t remember which one this is specifically about. Either way the chorus is him saying he’s sorry that he wasn’t good enough for either one of them. His father left when he was young and his step dad abused him. Either way a very powerful song
This song relates back to the relationship between NF and his parents. NF ended up living with his dad because his mom’s boyfriend would physically abuse him. In the end, she wound up dying of a drug overdose while he was in high school.
OK OK hear me out this sounds like the one part of the search "When you try to hold it underwater thinking it will never survive then come back up like a evil surprise and it covers over you to tell you Millions of lies"
This song is really interesting if you look at it from one point of view it's like Nate saying he is sorry for not being about to live up to his parents expectations but if you look at it from a different point of view it seems like Nate's father is saying he is sorry for not being a good dad and all the times that Nate dies in the music video is every time the father lets him down but it could also be seen that every time he dies it's him failing to meet expectations.
Here's how i understood what was happening in the video NF appears multiple times where he's suffering and his dad somehow is just looking at him in disappointment not doing anything first thing that came to my mind is that while he was suffering probably because of failure, his dad was too disappointed that he wasn't even aware of NF's suffering even tho it was so obvious. in the end the dad opens the coffin and holds his mouth surprised after seeing his son inside of it, this is where he realized that NF was suffering all this time but he only noticed when it was too late

Jarno Rabe He should react to Elijah- Yeah Yeah
He is singing about how he fellt like he let himself down but it can have diffrent meanings for diffrent people. he also felt like his voice was not worht to listen to and that he dont matter for his parents and so. ( I know it´s a old video but who cares)
LB we been waitin on 'Kindest Regards' -Witt Lowry👀 #FIRESQUAD have my back on this🍻😎🔥🔥🔥🔥
Song is about his father for sure.
Fire Squad whats poppin
Once I saw a comment that says,"you either love NF or you don't know him".
Missed the ending and the whole twist 😂
He tries to symbolize that his dad never helped him through any difficult moment even when he lost his mum off of pills and he also refers to this in other songs about his dad not supporting him. The burning car and the drowning symbolize the different situations that his dad didn't help him with. He refers with the phrase im drowning in others songs too or with the phrase im trapped.
NF Lost In The Moment
The song goes over many struggles in his life. Beginning is about his mother, middle is about flase friends, and end is about himself letting himself down
Hey man ! Great video, check out dance with the devil by immortal technique
You should react to ‘I Just Wanna Know’, it’s my favourite song from NF
#firesquad
One of my favorites as well!
Yessss
NICE REACTION MAN! My son turned me on to NF, he seen him before his first album and got a EP,CD. I subbed you today! Keep em coming!
Love NF, that song wasn't for me though. Still a pass for his skill.
It's a bit more of a pop song, that's why this is not a favorite of mine, short verses with repeated hooks. And it did hit radio sooo
i been up all night watching your reactions, i just found your channel
He is talking about his dad because everything he did was disappointing to his dad so he's sorry that he let his dad down
You were supposed to see the end to get it
Yo NF HAS SOME songs on the radio !!!!! This man is getting his recognition let's GOOOOOO
Fire squad needs Eminem kings never die
So this song went triple platinum which is also mentioned in his song “why” (I believe it’s one of the first NF songs you reacted to) when he says: “Went triple platinum.... yeah, ok ok I guess” he also mentions it later on in “why” again when he says: “you’ve only heard of “Let you down” well then you’re behind”
Didn’t watch till the end
NF is the best. His negativity means his being REAL. And his songs come from the heart.
You should’ve finished the last few seconds 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
His dad was just vibing to the music
the old man was NF, at the end of the video a womans voice is heard saying NATE... listen :)
He is singing about himself and reflecting on all of the ways he has disappointed himself from the point of an old version of himself.
NF - Thing Called Love speaks facts!
This song relates back to the relationship between NF and his parents. NF ended up living with his dad because his mom’s boyfriend would physically abuse him. In the end, she wound up dying of a drug overdose while he was in high school.
This was his one song that got played on the radio all the time.
OK OK hear me out this sounds like the one part of the search
"When you try to hold it underwater thinking it will never survive then come back up like a evil surprise and it covers over you to tell you Millions of lies"
True
This song is really interesting if you look at it from one point of view it's like Nate saying he is sorry for not being about to live up to his parents expectations but if you look at it from a different point of view it seems like Nate's father is saying he is sorry for not being a good dad and all the times that Nate dies in the music video is every time the father lets him down but it could also be seen that every time he dies it's him failing to meet expectations.
This song finds NF focusing on his difficult relationship with his father, who is divorced from his mother.then his mother overdosed
The intro song is "Blasian" by Layedbak!!
The songs about his step dad and the only time he showed emotion to Nate was when his s-dad told him Nate was dead to him
Here's how i understood what was happening in the video
NF appears multiple times where he's suffering and his dad somehow is just looking at him in disappointment not doing anything
first thing that came to my mind is that while he was suffering probably because of failure, his dad was too disappointed that he wasn't even aware of NF's suffering even tho it was so obvious.
in the end the dad opens the coffin and holds his mouth surprised after seeing his son inside of it, this is where he realized that NF was suffering all this time but he only noticed when it was too late
Crazy that this is a true video
In this song NF looks back at his childhood and explains how he was drowning in sadness and let himself down
The video was about Future NF (the old man) looking back at at his earlier life (current NF)
NF - Hands up, you will love the energy
