The old man represents his father through most of the video. After his mother died his father was emotionally distant. He felt like his father watched him drown in depression, burn in anger and did nothing to help. When it came to it, his father did care, but he showed it too late. Cutting back to the first scene someone calls the old man Nate because he has mentioned before that one of his biggest fears is making the same mistakes with his own kids. So the old man represents both NF and his Dad.
yes and no. at the end of the video the woman (bridget) says “NATHAN” so the vid did represent his father but also himself. it respreented himself looking at himself thinking that why did he just watch the struggle and let himself drown in pain when in the end he grew old with his wife and lived a happy life. but he liked back at ALL the struggle he went though thus LETTING HIMSELF DOWN
Shaq, if you think about the 3 ways he was watching himself. Drowning in anxiety, OCD burning him alive, and depression putting him 6 feet under. And the old him looking back on those times and realizing he should have been there to help himself and he did nothing but stand to the side. I like this.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son so who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him.” God bless everybody that is reading this prayers for you all and your family in Jesus Christ name amen 🙏
Did you know the “female sounding” parts of songs like this and remember this ( one of your favorite songs if u watch your reaction again) is actually NF singing and they change the pitch
Stephen 890 he said in an interview he did not diss Eminem and if Eminem took a shot at him (which we don’t know) when he says “ an effing recovery clone of me” nf said if that was a shot that line was fire no disrespect and is a huge fan of em (somewhere along those lines)
It is. Many songs about parents. In the beginning of the song it even says Parents. Also, he talks about moving out of his dads house. Its his father. I hate to say it, but Shaq misinterpreted this entire song.
NCU Veteran I actually had always thought the old man was his Dad!! After Shaq said he thought it was Nate watching himself “drowning” I wasn’t so sure anymore.. so I had to do a little research & figure out which it was! The old man represents Nate’s future self reflecting back on his life! Also at the end the camera pans down to his arm and u see the tattoo REAL MUSIC that Nate has then u hear a woman come up behind him and say “Nathan?!” Sooooo I was wrong this whole time bc I really thought it was his Dad! The song is about his relationship with him and not wanting to disappoint him or let him down etc.. I watched the video like 10 more times after Shaq said that & I heard that lady at the end say his name 🤯 kinda similar to his song “Nate” where he is speaking to his younger self like of he could have went back he would let him know all the things he knows now.. both songs are great. So many artists take their pain and turn that into a MASTERPIECE & write these gems that we ALL can usually relate to. I hate that he had to go thru so much as a child but I’m sure he is thankful for everything bc has it not been for those tough times.. he probably wouldn’t be the same man that he is today. He is so special.. & genuinely a great human being! He has stuck to his faith when it comes to keeping his music clean.. everything he writes is something we can listen to with our kids!! & you know it’s gotta be hard & trying at times-always being pressured by someone to be someone he’s not.. just to “be at the top of his game”.. & be like all these other mainstream HipHop/Rap artists glorifying drugs, sex, infidelity, money, strippers & side chicks.. & mumble.. literally about nothing at all.. I don’t know about everyone else but if there is no meaning behind the lyrics..if I can’t even understand the damn words I can’t relate or feel any emotion to be able to connect to the song-therefore I don’t care to listen to it. I want to feel whatever that artist is singing about! I want to feel it in my soul & when NF sings/raps have goosebumps nearly 90% of his songs❤️Nate is REAL... he isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but there but NOBODY can honestly say this man is NOT talented...it’s just not true. If you don’t like his music that’s ok... but don’t say he is talentless because you would be lying! 🙄 He deserves so much more credit than he gets!! His music heals🖤
The old man represents his dad, but it also represents NF himself when he’s older. At the end of the video the woman calls the man Nathan which is NF’s real name. The old man also has the same tattoo.
Ive shared his video with countless friends...and watched even more reaction videos like this one... you are one of the fee that grasp the depth of this... its him... its his older self apoligizing to his youngerself for letting himself down... the absolute most heartbreaking shit ever...

Then the smile he draws at the end that says lost is something from December 2017 when he did the same thing on Instagram. When the song came out he tagged it. Dude dropped PMD in 2019. So he had the concepts at the very least two years ago. He’s really truly amazing. How things connect and stuff. So underrated. He is a genius in his own aspect for real. His creativity and emotion in his lyrics are amazing. And how he’s gone four albums with the last two going number one on Billboard (Search beat Chance the rapper out) and he has never used a single swear word. Not one. Not a single filler bar to make things rhyme. It’s insane when you think about the quality of music he manages to release.

A group of my friends flipped a car and it caught fire when I was 17. I wasn't there but one of them couldn't get out and the others couldn't help him due to the fire, they had to listen to him burn to death. One of them ended up killing himself 3 years later. Another has been institutionalized multiple times over the years. Seeing that scene in this video always reminds me of when that happened.
The way I see it is the older gentleman in the video is portrayed as Nate. If you watch the very end you'll see "REAL" tattooed on his arm and then the lady calls out "Nathan"...it's basically like he's "let himself down" throughout life.
@@kkingdrs6630 y u so triggered? Lol. Do u really think people will be able to grow their channels without self promoting and it's not like he makes bad content.
The songs vague in telling you so it lets you interpret it to how you want. This allows you to apply it to your situation better then if he was more direct
The music video says different from what he really wrote the song about. Maybe he wanted it to be deeper but NF said that the song was made about his mom and step dad (he has a good relationship with his real dad) but yeah ut was for his mother and step father. Mainly his step father.
... Wow... I've been watching you for a minute and NF is one of my favorite artists. I've watched endless other reactors (some amazing, some good, some bad) but you are the *FIRST* reactor that I've seen to pick up on the fact that the older guy is actually NF and he's talking to his past self that fast (hell, most don't ever realize it even by the end of the song)... That was incredibly fast, you definitely the GOAT reactor for a damn good reason! Mad respect and props to you, I'm still stunned that you caught on to that so damn fast.
The lyrics of the song are mainly about NF’s relationship with his father and how he feels bad about disappointing him. NF, whose real name is Nathan John Feuerstein, was raised by his father after his parents divorced and his mother died of a drug overdose in 2009.
No the old guy is NF when he is older watching his young self destroy himself, I think NF had a good relationship with his father, NF's dad took him from his mom's house when he knew that her boyfriend was abusing him
My take on it was . He was drowned in sorrow in the first portion of his career/life. Which got him engulfed in the fame (engulfed in the fire), and finally putting them both to rest in the end.
This song takes me down roads I don’t really want to go down. As a dad now I listen and I have so many different emotions. I have no choice but to face them head on. Life is more than what you see on tv it’s………. A story of choices. Which one is right and who is is going to effect in which way. There is no manual it’s just in the mindset your in you choose and hope it’s right and not selfish. Idk how to explain right idk if I do anything right. Do we really ever know what’s right or who we are? Life is more than what we see and think
No... he's not. He is the only NF. You can hear the influences with Em's sound, but he literally raps about his emotions and not some off the wal stuff like Em does
@@rishan1185 yes Em does have some songs packed with emotions... I'm just sayin NF doesn't "beef" with other rappers, rap about drugs, rap about women in a derogatory way, or rap about killin people or animals like Em has rapped about. Em is a phenomenal rapper, but wouldn't be as big as he is without the shock rap style.. just my opinion...

It’s crazy how when you get older you know what the song is about and how deep it is like when this came out I was 10 and I didt really know what it was about
I watched the MV before watching you but I took it as he was rappin to his dad. Shit got me 30 seconds in. I was also gunna say your not a real one if you didn’t get choked up to that. NF is crazy! Much love brother.
each part shows trauma that NF has been through in his life, in one song he has talked about how is trauma wouldnt even allow him to swim in a kiddy pool, which is wild if you think because he made a video where he pretended to drown, he also talks multiple times about it being hard to breath which has a lot of different meanings but a lot of his traumas have involved instances where it has literally been hard to breathe.
The old man represents his father through most of the video. After his mother died his father was emotionally distant. He felt like his father watched him drown in depression, burn in anger and did nothing to help. When it came to it, his father did care, but he showed it too late. Can y’all help me grow
Bowzer’s reaction Pit your guys’ reactions are great too though. You miss some bars but I can tell you guys really appreciate the music.
great*
FlyingPanda10P thanks man! 💪🤘
Bowzer’s reaction Pit y’all the best
He says in interviews it's him, but the lyrics say "that's parents for you" and is clearly about his Dad. Love your energy and reactions ♡
You should react to “time” and “dreams” by nf. Both super chill and emotional
Wet Bubbles he has done time i think
fr these are two of his best
"Even if we both break down tonight" and u say u hate me" and we go to bed angry" I know everything will be alright.
I didn’t realize he already did “time” maybe switch it w “if you want love”
He did Time when NF dropped the music vid
U gotta do NF No Excuses it's one of the hype tracks off the Search
A group of my friends flipped a car and it caught fire when I was 17. I wasn't there but one of them couldn't get out and the others couldn't help him due to the fire, they had to listen to him burn to death. One of them ended up killing himself 3 years later. Another has been institutionalized multiple times over the years. Seeing that scene in this video always reminds me of when that happened.
NF is just deep, he's gone through so much shit, his mom died in 2009 of overdose! :(
It was him talking with his parents and how they both think they let eachother down. And could of done more..
The way I see it is the older gentleman in the video is portrayed as Nate. If you watch the very end you'll see "REAL" tattooed on his arm and then the lady calls out "Nathan"...it's basically like he's "let himself down" throughout life.
@@amyfountain9166 its double entendre
The best NF song
Shaq has a different reaction for NFs songs because NF is a genius with his lyrics and videos
The Living Miracle not rlly all his flows are the same he never switches his songs up
ICQ uh what
@@mattym2233 listen to more NF songs before you say that
Canadian Guy Bruh all his songs have the same flow he never switches it up ngl he has talent but he needs to switch it up

@@kkingdrs6630 y u so triggered? Lol. Do u really think people will be able to grow their channels without self promoting and it's not like he makes bad content.
I think the old guy is his dad coz in the first verse he talks about his parents
It's NF himself but older. You can tell that by his tattoo in the very last moment of the video.
The songs vague in telling you so it lets you interpret it to how you want. This allows you to apply it to your situation better then if he was more direct
Polar Ice it’s not vague, at the end of the video the lady refers to the old man as Nathan confirming he is NF
@@MARKTH3COBRA that's a music video not lyrics
@@uzzy1364 Except NF himself has said what the meaning of the song is. Its only vague if you ignore the artist himself
NF listened to him since beginning and I genuinely love his all of his music
“We gotta listen to some *EN EFF*
The music video says different from what he really wrote the song about. Maybe he wanted it to be deeper but NF said that the song was made about his mom and step dad (he has a good relationship with his real dad) but yeah ut was for his mother and step father. Mainly his step father.
he says " i guess that's parents for you".. talking bout the struggles to get approval and love from his parent
The fact he doesn't realise its actually about his relationship with his dad 🤣🤣
Miyagi & Andy Panda feat TumaniYo
"Brooklyn"
Fuckin banger!
it was one of the few on radio release, regular plays opposed to not like the rest and was a big hit
We NEED a new NF album man...
Yeah
David Pistotti omg yessss!! Been too long. Go like my comment so we can hear ALL I HAVE!!! I wanna see Shaq react to that!!
Who else waited til the end to see if Shaq would catch the meaning of the song? Cheers... 🍻
Nobody:
Me: literally dying when he said thats nf grown old
The lyrics of the song are mainly about NF’s relationship with his father and how he feels bad about disappointing him. NF, whose real name is Nathan John Feuerstein, was raised by his father after his parents divorced and his mother died of a drug overdose in 2009.
This song is about his relationship with his father
Jeff Austin and also about himself this whole song a double entendre
Every single nf song is a straight banger
This is Nf's dad in this video Lmao. The song is about his relationship with his father.
No the old guy is NF when he is older watching his young self destroy himself, I think NF had a good relationship with his father, NF's dad took him from his mom's house when he knew that her boyfriend was abusing him
*when you so early that the bots have not commented yet:* I am spe- no no I am *EARLY*
CONGRATS FOR THE 1.8M bro ! YOU DESERVE IT !!!!!!
Shaq’s wisdom: “I do not wanna drown”
🤯🤯🤯
Dat intro is far better than. Ja rule Carrier's. 😂😂. Finish dat man. Dats tuff
My take on it was . He was drowned in sorrow in the first portion of his career/life. Which got him engulfed in the fame (engulfed in the fire), and finally putting them both to rest in the end.
Miyagi-Brooklyn please
Day 7 of asking Shaq to react to
“The World is Yours” by Nas
GusBus He doesn’t react to what he already knows. And everybody know that one
Yehudi Charmoillaux, he reacted to Rap God and everybody knew that
GusBus yeah I forgot
He has Said he dont react to things he have already listened to and im sure he has heard that one over 100 times
Hate to compare but NF is literally the next EM. Hands down.
But he is already 29...
No... he's not. He is the only NF. You can hear the influences with Em's sound, but he literally raps about his emotions and not some off the wal stuff like Em does
@@carnagegaming8748 true but em also have deep songs, sry i cant say em only raps off things.
Surprised you haven’t already reacted to this cause this dropped like a whole year and a half ago 😂
Hands down! Been a fan of NF since he was just Nate singing on hooks.
Shaq you need to react to that Tech n9ne - Dr Sebagh!!!! It’s tuff!!
Yo Shaq "its yo boi, its your homie, finish dat maahn finish dat maaahn" greatest catch phrase ever bruh, have me saying it to my mommy until she threw a nike slipper at me. but i love what you doing.I know you a Massive Cole fan like myself please React to pretty little fears, can i holla at you, cheer up. keep up the good work. Love from Jerry69 from south africa :)
It’s crazy how when you get older you know what the song is about and how deep it is like when this came out I was 10 and I didt really know what it was about
So you could sayy..... r/im14andthisisdeep?
Please react Miyagi and Andy Panda - Brooklyn 🤞
MIYAGI ANDY PANDA TUMANIYO - BROOKLYN Listen to russian staff
I watched the MV before watching you but I took it as he was rappin to his dad. Shit got me 30 seconds in. I was also gunna say your not a real one if you didn’t get choked up to that. NF is crazy! Much love brother.
Coach, get Witt Lowry, piece of mind 3 on the channel! Get him to see this!

Go reaction!!
Such a good glimpse into what NF is talking about.
Being left out , and no support from his father. Great video. And reaction Bro.
Check “All I Have” - NF
Yessssssss
React to "Hate Myself" by NF
each part shows trauma that NF has been through in his life, in one song he has talked about how is trauma wouldnt even allow him to swim in a kiddy pool, which is wild if you think because he made a video where he pretended to drown, he also talks multiple times about it being hard to breath which has a lot of different meanings but a lot of his traumas have involved instances where it has literally been hard to breathe.
