One of my favorite games on the SNES, I played it hundreds of times as a kid with my friends, great video! One small trick is that much like Donald's magic outfit, if you hold the attack button with the climber outfit it makes it a lot easier to latch on things in my experience, haha
A damn fine game, indeed! I had trouble even with the hold down trick but maybe it was just my luck lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. I love to hear peoples personal connections to games 🙂
@@RetroDrew It's definitely a lot trickier than it should be, even after years of playing it doesn't always work for me either, haha. My pleasure, and thank you for making this video! This game was pretty popular in Brazil thanks to rampant piracy back in the day so it's always a treat to see anyone talking about it :)
Great to see you two collaborating on this review! I've only ever tried the first game but enjoyed it, so will have to give this one a proper look into it. Hopefully those minor gameplay quirks don't ruin the fun.
It's worth playing, preferably the english translation as the easy and medium modes let you play through the whole game as opposed to the JP original where you could only complete it on hard. That alone makes dealing with the weird quirks a little easier
That would be killer. I 100% expect Magical Quest 3 to show up on Switch Online at some point. I highly doubt both Capcom and Nintendo would pass up that opportunity
When Kingpin and I played through it in coop mode we definitely ran into some troubles with slow down accidentally screen scrolling each other to death haha. But I will admit it was still fun and with a little practice I'm sure we would've enjoyed out multiplayer experience better
This game is stupid! If you play 2 players mode and you go up to the screen, the other player will die! What a crap! It's done to play on 1 player mode only. Did even Capcom try their game? I don't think so..
#First. This just popped up on my feed. Glad I could be a part of the show RetroDrew!
I was equally glad to have you on! I hope to do another crossover sometime in the future!

Only knew the first two games existed I will definitely be trying this one out! Great video
It's a lot of fun with the exception of that last stage. Regardless it's Still a joy to playthrough so have fun

I'd love to see Magical Quest trilogy ported to Switch, or just even added to the snes Switch online service

This, right here, is one of my favorite games EVER, truly a coop gem.

@@RetroDrew That was the reason for a few conflicts between and my cousin, but also the reason behind many laughs lol
Great video both of you!
Thank you! It was a blast to make!
Oh man, I loved Magical Quest when I was a kid. I didn’t know there was a 2nd game… let alone 3!
Nice video!! And great co-op game, now improved with a FastROM hack compatible with the English translation!!
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it. I assume the fast rom hack improves the slowdown?
@@RetroDrew Yes, specially when playing co-op and fighting against the big bosses!
@@RHZZ I do remember the slowdown being pretty gnarly when we captured our 2 player footage. Glad to know there's a work around
These games have a real charm to them.
I played this on the GBA! Good times!
Disney and Capcom should re-release these as a collection for the Switch!
They really should, especially since they did that disney afterschool collection some years ago
I would better say: "Consider this game a Quack-shot." Eh? Eh? 😃
Or a lost Quacksic 😂
