I don’t understand why people like Carol so.much in this scene. She was feeling so annoyed that Ross came to visit her. She was annoyed because she is going to miss her dinner with Susan while Ross was so heartbroken and and he went to visit her because he had no other place to go. She didn't feel sorry for him. She was trying to cut him off. What a annoying character
They WERE on a break. Not only that, later that night when he's on the phone with her, he hears/notices that Mark (the guy he's been jealous of and insecure about) is with her. Late at night, in her apartment. It's obvious what he'd assume is going on. I never blamed him for sleeping with that copier chick. He was annoying and way too insecure and jealous, but I understand why he did what he did

As you see at the end of the clip she is surprised Ross slept with another woman and Ross is like "you're one to talk." One of the main reason's he was so paranoid about Mark is because of Carol. So they were never going to be buddy buddy.
Carol probably was (and is) the best woman for Ross. She understood him so much and relatively can handle him being sulky that Rachel couldn't.

Ross & Rachel’s Relationship: Have They Really Moved On? Have They Really Grown?
That’s the thing with Ross & Rachel. They never moved on, because they were still in love with each other and they both don’t want to admit that they were wrong for what went wrong in their relationship, because their own pride, ego and wanting to be proven right was more important to them than wanting to restart their relationship and just let go of letting their pride get to them. It was a reason why they both didn’t grow until the series finale where they finally got back together, finally admitting that they were both wrong and done being stupid. If you thinks that’s wrong, then who cares, because I’m entitled to my own opinion, which is sometimes and always that you have to accept that you can’t make me change my opinion, because what I believe in my opinion is the truth about Ross & Rachel’s relationship.
My truthful opinion is that both Ross and Rachel were wrong and they both acted stupid about their breakup and I don't care what you guys think of who's right and who's wrong, because in the end, both sides just lose in the argument.
That's the thing that always bugs me, everyone loves to pick sides in the debate, and almost every character paints Ross as being completely in the wrong, and then the fans will tend to demonize one or the other (typically Ross,) but both characters were in the wrong. Rachel refused to understand that Ross has PTSD from when Carol cheated on him and divorced him, on top of her being his long time crush, but Ross should have reflected and acknowledged that he did things to hurt Rachel too. Rachel overreacted to his "cheating," especially since she held a grudge, and Ross needed to acknowledge that Rachel did have a right to be hurt (on top of his overreaction,) even if he didn't necessarily cheat on her (considering the break up, not being in the right mind, and being drunk.) Both were in the wrong, and their pride made them refuse to accept that, though Rachel is probably more at fault for why it took so long for them to get back together with the grudge she held.

At first, I was on Ross' side but the point of the sitcom was to show the diefferent perspective of each part. At the end I agree that Rachel had nothing to do with Mark and Ross overreacted. If I was Ross, I would be jelous too.

I kinda wish they explored Ross and Carols friendship more after the divorce. Like if instead of her ending up with Susan she’s stayed friends with the group. Her and Ross could coparent while we saw her explore being a gay and single in NYC for a while.
She obviously knows him so well and she’s very sweet with the rest of the group. Seeing them learn to coexist after the divorce and helping each other with women could have been fun.
I have to agree I kinda a thought that Rachel got along with Carol also it would have been nice if they had an episode where Carol and Susan had dinner with Ross and Rachel. I feel like when Ross and Rachel were together and Carol and Susan were in the scene and they were discussing Ben it was kinda nice.

I don't believe he ever denied doing something wrong. He denied cheating on her. Sleeping with someone else the day that you break up with someone you "love" isn't a good move and will be judged by many people as wrong. It's not cheating though.

Obviously he was saying that in relation to his actions after they had broken up. As I have said multiple times, if you want to say he was wrong for sleeping with someone else so soon after Rachel broke up with him then ok. I may not agree but I get it. He did not cheat though and whenever anyone says otherwise, I get why he gets defensive. Say you think what he did was wrong but don't call him a cheater. Personally I feel that if you break up with me then I owe you nothing. The only thing I think he was completely wrong for was trying to hide it and although he could have not taken it, that was based on advice from Joey and Chandler when Ross wanted to be honest. It's always funny to me that people love Chandler and Joey despite them playing a huge part in the worst part of the situation. Same with creating the pros/cons list of Rachel and Julie. People hate Ross for doing it (which is fair) but ignore the people who came up with the idea.

I always disliked Carol. She cheated on Ross, then she and Susan tried to push him out of their baby's life and still he came through for her when her parents refused to attend her wedding to Susan. Then she has the nerve to call out Ross for what happened between him and Rachel while they were on a break. She is really one to talk. Pot kettle. Ross was too good for Carol. In reality the amicable relationship between carol and Ross wouldn't have happened.
I've always loved Carol character and i think she, along with Katie, is the most under developed character of the series.

Being on a break means taking some time apart to relfect, like when you're angry at your mom so you go off on your own but after you cool off, things will back to the way they were.
