As an art student I learned about the bone structure differences, like, the fact that females elbows are much closer to their waists. (Because their waists are higher to facilitate pregnancy). In fact one of the leading researchers in Neuroscience has been doing research on neurological structures from the beginning of 2004 and has been able to distinguish over 100 neurological structural differences between men and women. It is a half-truth to say that men and women are alike, because that is somewhat true when we are children (although some differences still do exist even at birth). However as puberty hits, our anatomical structures shift significantly to various of degrees. Similarly sexual minorities for example have specific parts closer to that of the other sex depending on the function of said sexual orientation. Parts associated with attraction in homosexual men is almost identical to heterosexual women, and lesbian women have almost identical to heterosexual male neurological structures in that area.

Many potential symptoms of autism line up with how we expect little girls to act (Toe-walking, Apparent shyness, etc.), so while they draw attention to boys, in girls, we think it's just feminine behavior. Of course, symptoms of autism are ridiculously varied, so it's hard to say if that sort of symptom is prominent or overlooked enough to create any statistically significant failure of diagnosis, or if it is just something biological.

It would have been nice if the biological differences were explained in the context of their clinical significance. Maybe you guys can invite a physician to expound om these. I think #6 and #3 have a kind-of odd relationship today. It's true that females have better peripheral vision (looking for things to gather) and males are better at "scanning" (apparently for prey). Due to sexist standards within the culture, many of the commonly associated autistic traits (which vary from person to person) are assumed to be normal behavior for females and thus are often dismissed until later in life. This happened to a friend of mine who wasn't diagnosed until she was in her twenties.

People trying to fix something which is caused by an abnormality of one's brain is kind of damaging for children. It's also kind of stressful for a child to think there's something wrong with them, and have no idea why.
On top of that, it's indicative of a larger problem, that females are, in general, not as well studied as males. Like, it sounds weird, but there's a surprisingly common male-focus bias in the medical world, which leads to issues diagnosing ailments which manifest different symptoms in women to men. Autism may or may not be among these conditions, we don't know, because nobody is researching autistic girls.
