      @@jimmyRadventuresexcuse me for butting into something that's none of my business but as a man that has also beat cancer I'm here to tell you that you may have some rough days ahead of you. My wife died of cancer two years ago. The year after she died I was diagnosed. She had Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma but it was stage 4 when it was diagnosed and had already spread throughout her body and her heart was in AFib so they couldn't give her chemotherapy. Chemotherapy kills heart patients who are in AFib which means if my cancer returns I can't have chemotherapy again because I have gone into afib now. If they found you in an early stage you got a lot of good to look forward to. I'll pray for you. God bless and give you strength

      I had hard time throwing no spin in the beginning. Once I turned my arm and started to throw slightly side arm. Not fully side arm. Just a little. My no spin got so so good. Give that a try. Also practice your release. Use that index finger . Once you really get the feel down you will see it’s easier then it looks. Practice practice . Happy throwing 👍🏻

    Adam , I cant possibly thank you enough for the time & dedication that you have spent & shown through your videos on throwing blades , different styles of knives & techniques, Im 58 yrs old & have been throwing knives as far back as I can remember seamingly having a (knack) for it as a kid. Many years went by before I picked it back up only this time I want to hone a pre existing ability into a obvious skill, my mistake is wanting to increase the distance to fast as you pointed out with the no spin. The harder I concentrate the more I hit with a flat blade on the no spin, when I relax & loosen up I have a better success rate with that style, with military & house spin Im pretty deadly, My #1 problem is I throw all different weights & sizes there fore only achieving marginal success with any one, Im now throwing the jxe -jxo throwing spikes from Amazon, them & only them for 5 months straight.

    1 - I believe Ive been opening my hand a little when releasing.
    2 - I haven’t been able to throw with power and have them hit. I’ve had to more or less let inertia take it and it would stick. If I tried to use power I believe they over spin.
    Awesome videos!!

    I tend to under-rotate more than over, but I’d say my biggest issue is consistency. I’ll get 2/3 or 3/3 then 0/3. I do think I open my hand more on release than you show here so might try and pay attention to that. And I’m not sure I ever truly feel my finger slide on the spine rather than a push.

  • @JokerLokison
    @JokerLokison Год назад +1

    I really needed this video today, bro. Thank you. Over rotation has been my problem from about five meters. Within five meters I stick everything. Out at 5 meters over. rotation loud. bouncing off the target. Awful. But watching the video today. I think my problem may be my grip. I don't think I wind up as much as you do. I feel like I'm pushing the knife more than throwing it. Close in, out to 3 1/2 or 4 meters, I'm relaxed. I can throw it sidearm. I can throw it underhand even and I stick it with power. I can do it at a medium height, or taller target, and one that I have on the ground off to the side. But a centimeter over Five meters and all just goes to crap.

    • @AdamCeladin
      @AdamCeladin  Год назад

      You need a ,,click,, moment i had it same with 4 meters i was stuck there for a 3 months and could not get past it but one day i realize i have to pull arm more to the back and release the knife bit earlier and also use whole body in to it and not force just the throwing hand. Try to keep doing step back drills on 4 and 4,50 meters over and over and eventually CLICK and you are on 50,50-6 meters no problem ,)

I am unable to stick any of my throwers without rotation and cannot get a feeling for the proper technique. Is it possible to learn with any blade? Do I need a blade designed for no spin to achieve proper technique? Thank you my friend.

      Hey Richard, i am not sure about THE BEST but i am 100 % sure its the most practical technique in my opinion in sence you can hit really easily from any distance from 0 to 10 meters almost without thinking and distance but of course it has some limits like accuracy on longer distances and long distance in general but most of the combat scenarios in knife fighting would happen from very close distance anyway. hope that helps :)

    Is there any benefit of practicing with lighter knifes? My wife bought some "because they look nice" and I think they are more demanding, especially they demand more strength in the throw. Knifes made for throwing fell a bit like cheating, especially the heavier ones that stick quite well almost just by inertia alone.

    Arg. I'm a spin thrower, but I see the benefits of the no-spin throw, but OMG it is SO FRUSTRATING. I overspin and then overcorrect and my good throws are powerless tosses but add power and I'm overspinning again. I can't nail the spine brush. Sometimes hard not to give up and go back to what I'm already good at. But I know once I get it, I've got it, so I keep at it.

We could definitely relate to that and it may be very useful, particularly if you video it against a white, uncluttered background. You could actually do it in conjunction with one of those scientists that analyze movement. Just a thought, as I know you are always trying to create interesting, useful and timeless content.

    Hey. New subscriber here. Just getting into knife throwing as a hobby. I got a set of 3, 12 inch cold steel sure flight sport kmives. And i got a great target to throw at. A slice of a huge tree. Like you have. But mine is larger. And i only have one :) but anyway. I am really enjoying your videos. I may try some no spin after watching this video. I started trying rotational and i was terrible at it. I learned much faster using half spin technique. Wich actually helped me learn to stick them using rotational throwing. Wich i was suprised at. Ive avoided no spin basically out of fear. Of the knife rebounding if i mess up. But i had some success with no spin. And i would like to hear what you think of this
    .. today i tried throwing no spin from about just under 2 meters. Im right handed. I would hold the knife on my left side. And basically throw it like a backhand stroke in tennis. Is this a style you have tried? Am i simply doing it completly wrong? Pls. Some feedback :) thanks in advance... for reading.

    My biggest mistake is living in a country that makes it incredibly difficult to get quality throwing knives :/ all i have is sharpened files and i can't improve much further without a proper set of throwers that all match, not files of various sizes, weights and thicknesses 😅

    • @AdamCeladin
      @AdamCeladin  Год назад +1

      You are in Australia ?! :D Dang it i really hope law will change in near future :D

    • @thothtahuti5509
      @thothtahuti5509 Год назад

      @AdamCeladin New Zealand, but yeah :) same problem. I can only import SUPER SPECIFIC knives, and most of the definitions of what I can't import is also the definitions of a decent no-spin throwing knife... so I'm stuck throwing old files, and I'm not sure how to fix that "mistake" without a good 1,000$+ and a more then 0% chance that even if the knives fit all the rules they could just confiscate them at costoms :(
      Not having thousands of dollars to spare for a good set of yours (the stinger set is probably my favorite, but you/acejet have a bunch of amazing designs) that will "probably" turn up, I'm stuck with the rusty files. Even my target setup is better than my actual throwers hahaha

    Those stinger knives should be made out of gold considering the price. Spring steel is nothing special. Who buys just 1 throwing knife and over 100 dollars at that. That totally killed my interest. Those knives are probably cut like cookies on a plasma table.

    Adam! Love your videos and you're an awesome teacher. I've been practicing from your videos the no spin and military half spin throws, and i am feeling more and more confident spending about 2 hours a day focusing on improving, (although it is hard finding a safe space to practice as i live in the uk and we have crazy strict laws on knives, and the nearest regulated axe and knife throwing range to me is 4 hours by car).
    I have finally decided to upgrade my set, and have been trying hard to decide what is better between the Top Dogs, and the Vengeance knives, and i thought i would pick the vengeance, do you agree?
    ... also i thought i would treat myself to a set of the Kudlak knives, (especially since i have been to Slovenia, and have friends who live there and spoke to me about their local legends 😊), can i ask how you feel they compare to the vengeance or top dog for military half spin or no spin throwing?
    Many thanks for all your work 👍👍👍
