As an adult I still spend a lot of time in the graveyards, but as a child it was a regular weekend thing to do. I always needed to know why. Sometimes my why's got me in trouble." Thank you for such a great video. I just returned from my first Trip to New Orleans, and what struck me about such a lovely city is that as was said it is like a giant gumbo bowls, with people of all faiths, colors, creeds all living and working together. The spirit of the City and area is so great. After the tragedy in Dallas there were a lot of protests around the country, what I saw in New Orleans, were people talking, people praying, and people sharing their feelings and there were no crazy protests, no Police being attacked, and people off all types talked and shared and thought and it was refreshing to see.
    I have also studied various traditions of Magic and spiritualism, and I am a Gnostic, and found the Voodoo gets in your blood, it comes to you more so then you come to it, and I fell in love with a City that is so lovely, I hear she can be hard, and loving and all things in between. We Truly are planning to move there, and it is because of all the New Orleans has to offer, and hopefully we have something to offer the great folks and spirits who reside in the Crescent City.
    Thanks for all you folks do, thanks for making myself feel welcome with the great food, and the great spiritual people I have met, and I have found all that I met in the voodoo community great willing to help, and loving, and well I guess that is what it is all about.

    It's really upsetting that new people come in with such disrespect! I practice witchcraft and I find voodoo super interesting but I would never go to New Orleans thinking my practice is better than theirs. It's all about respect!! If I want to learn the ways of Voodoo than I must put aside my ego come into that craft with humbleness and understanding.

    • @yashua27
      @yashua27 6 лет назад +1

      Terrence Lowe it's not even a question rather witchcraft is better than VooDoo, voodoo is a full-blown religion that goes back to Animism, and is probably at least 30,000 years old, witchcraft is some new neopaganism, that is not rooted in ancient cultures. This is a fact. VooDoo is REAL MAGICK, which development took over thousands of years time to perfect.

      Yashua haggerty witchcraft is nothing new. There are European religious shamanisms that are thousands of years old as well. If you want respect for your traditions you have to respect other people’s and do some research before you say something so obnoxious.
      And it’s very likely that when humans branched off from Africa to make the new ‘races’ they took the shamanism with them and they evolved it. That doesn’t make theirs younger than yours. Just changed with the new lands. Don’t be so cocky.

I agree with what u were saying,,when I was raised in church, I got older and began "my awakening", I saw and spoke to spirits which still is VERY CONFUSING. I just go with it, what comes will come lol,,I basically have Always done things in a way which now seemed as if I've always had my techniques. I know I'm not making sense girl, but what I'm trying to say is I believe I was born just knowing things or what to do, my make believe protection lol,,it's strange. Louisiana voodoo had hwyte people doing it since at least the 19th century. One of the big differences between it and the Haitian kind along with the matriarchal nature of the Louisiana variety. Anyways it's all demon worship no matter the color of the person doing it.

      They need to realize they’re practicing Southern folk magic, Not Voodoo. If your family IS NOT BLACK, you CANNOT practice Hoodoo/Vooodoo! It’s impossible to work with spirits like High John, who was a symbol for black slaves, not knowing anything about black people! Hoodoo/Voodoo is BLACK, you simply and literally cannot practice hoodoo if your ancestors were not slaves. You can learn about it, read it, find inspiration from it, but please just have some basic respect. This is our history, my family, my culture . I’m so sick of people profiting off of it.

    Jan 22, 2020: *1) In Him we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. Ephesians 1:7; 2) For God did not send his Son Jesus to condemn the world but to save it. John 3:17; and 3) The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb (Christ Jesus) are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor anyone who does the detestable or false, but only those written in the Lamb’s book of life. Revelation 21:21-23,27 KATRINA & CANDACE

    Regardless of its roots, no religion is exclusive to a particular race. For commenters to be asking for more African Americans is racist. You don’t go to a black church and whine because there’s no white people - yet the church doesn’t have black roots. Black people follow plenty of religions that don’t originate in Africa, so don’t complain when white people do it.

    BloodyMary...are you by chance a Scorpio?
    I myself am a Scorpio born on Halloween....and us Scorpios have a strong pull towards spirit communications and all paranormal...Scorpio after all does represent death and rebirth...but it also in our nature to gravitate towards darkness...and I don't mean darkness as "bad"....but more then less vary mysterious,intuitive and appreciate deeply what many view as gloomy..loll....such a night time...the moon...dark gloomy and rainy days...solitude and myself feel a greater sense of peace in graveyards...sense I was a small child that would play in the graveyard over the chain linkedfence in my back yard...to having a unexplainable pull to every graveyard we passed by in car rides...the pull was just so noticeable...and still now!

      They acknowledged the deep African roots and the mixing of cultures. They are just giving their first hand accounts of what they experienced in New Orleans tho???

      Creole is a community family. New Orleans voodoo is influenced by Europe as well as they are influenced by us. There are a million ways to get to the same destination. One’s traditions simply grow out of consequence of the reality of the culture it is birthed out of. The deeper you go into this world you realize we are more alike than different. For on the other side color is irrelevant and character is everything…
