Lorne is a great character, he’s a master of adapting and using the world around him to his advantage. A true predator but he still has a human side. Varga is the world around you, he can turn it all against you. Varga has much more power and influence and hides even better, a predator is good at hiding and camouflage but Varga is the world, he can just melt back into it and nobody is even aware he exists.
@@adsyoffinch My favorite quote of all time is when Varga said something like “The problem is not that there is evil in the world. The problem is that there is good. Because otherwise who would care?”
Reminiscing over the Seasons, V.M. is THAT 🥷. Shout Out to Hanzee Dent. Just "learned" through comments that it was Hanzee who Lorne took out in the Building Hit in Season 1. The one who "saved/groomed" Numbers & Wrench. 🫡
He wouldn't consider it a waste, because HE consumed it and no one else did. It's the motivation behind his eating disorder; he leaves no scraps for anyone to take for free.
Malvo spent the better part of a year pretending to be a dentist for the opportunity to collect a 100,000 dollar contract. In a fraction of the time, Varga bilked a company for hundreds of millions. Tell me who is the more lethal?
it wont happen because he didn't happen. hes not a character to be followed around. "im so rarely seen, maybe i don't even exist." a spinoff would completely ruin this character. hes the leland gaunt of finances. aka the devil. the devil needs not one decisive backstory.
What makes Varga such a different villain is two-fold 1. He’s a wolf in sheep clothing, he hides his true nature and his true thoughts and blends in which makes him underestimated and dangerous 2. Varga is not a villain whose evil can be countered with a gun or force, his world is lies, manipulation and false truths which can be seen as truth, taken as truth Varga could very well swing a jury to his way of thinking, or get reasonable doubt though lies and manipulation he can cloud the truth, and that makes him very dangerous and that’s why he’s the only villain in the franchise whose fate is left unknown, unknown whether truth wins or false truth wins, cause it’s now a toss up which will be believed and upheld.
@@DeadpoolCR13 I definitely defer to you, then! :) Just the way he rolled the "r" reminded me so strongly of the South African English accent. Thanks for the correction!
I like everything except the music in the background. It's unnecessary and distracting. Otherwise - awesome video. He's probably my fav character from any of the Fargo series, and that's saying a lot!
If only they'd shown him getting busted at the end. All the other Fargo villains get what's coming. Or enough of them do that you don't care about the rest. But we DID want to see HIM get busted. Or at least give us any ending at all!
He was one hell of a villain. I truly hated him. I didn’t hate the villains in the previous seasons but I hated this guy a lot and not just him but his two henchmen too.
enjoying the walking corpse you voted for? That inflation is really fun, isn't it? It's bad enough you voted for an idiot with dementia but you people are proud of it. That takes a special kind of stupid.
He might be the bad guy, but we can't deny that V. M. Varga has some pretty iconic lines 💬
He’s a pure role model
A bad guy? How is that?
Did he put his junk in old dudes drink?
The shallow end of the pool is where the turds float.
Thewlis elevates anything he's in.
One of the best characters in modern television
Not as good as Lorne Malvo imo but still pretty cool
Exactly

I loved the scene when he's alone at Emmit's house and he's opening presents at the Christmas tree. He's taking the gifts he likes 🤣🤣
Thewils is a gifted actor. His V.M.Varga character freaked me out.
"We see what we believe, not the other way around" is something I gotta remember.
Varga scared me much more than Malvo or any of the Gerhardts. Such a well written character.
He was actually the scariest and most evil in my humble opinion. Great video.

It's insane to me how well written Varga is. Everything he does and says is just purely evil, literally no redeemable features at all.
'And if there's one thing I can't abide, it's waste...' Says the man who immediately pukes up everything he ever eats...
He wouldn't consider it a waste, because HE consumed it and no one else did. It's the motivation behind his eating disorder; he leaves no scraps for anyone to take for free.
It’s his way of having the cake and eating it too
YES!!!! A new Fargo video! Please make more! Love these so much! 😊
this is why the first three seasons of Fargo are so memorable and rewatchable, iconic villains, Marvol, Milligan, Varga
“You have a fat wife.”
“Excuse me?!”
“What part of what I just said is giving you trouble?”
Wanted to know so much more about this guy
"To use that Wealth to become Invisible..."
That is what terrifies me about him. He's right.
He could make a good Amazon CEO.
Varga had the best dialogue.
Best villain of all time
"I can't abide waste."
Says the guy who intentionally pukes up his food.
The food did its purpose.
waste, like everything, is a matter of perspective.
Incredible character.
Malvo spent the better part of a year pretending to be a dentist for the opportunity to collect a 100,000 dollar contract. In a fraction of the time, Varga bilked a company for hundreds of millions. Tell me who is the more lethal?
Malvo worked for Varga, probably
If by lethal you mean deadly, it's Malvo. Varga was more cunning and conniving
@bajorekjon How many people died on the orders of Varga?
@zachmartin1458 i don't remember i haven't seen the show in a while. But if you put them both in a room i think Malvo is walking out
On a level with Machiavelli's "The Prince".
What an awesome show ! Season 5 is also on a very good start but more with a comedy tone, and to me fargo is best with drama and dark humor.
Not giving us a V.M. Varga spin-off is not just a missed opportunity it's criminal.
I don’t need a spinoff but I’d love to see him as the villain again if S5 ever happens

@@dirtyunclehubert
Love it. I wouldn't say the devil but A DEVIL nonetheless. I see Varga as more vampiresque personally..
Nah. A prequel would ruin the mystique. A sequel would ruin the ambigious ending.
100% sure varga could hop on a laptop and call in an airstrike in 5 minutes
Whilst selling a shopping mall he doesn't own and chowing down on choc ice.
The only villain on TV who could give Gustavo Fring a run for his money.

season 6 needs to be as good as season 3
after sloppy season 4 and downright awful season 5 i've kind of lost any hope for that

His accent is somewhere between English and South African (like the way he says "genetic instinct" at 0:31) to me. Your mileage may vary, of course.
very much a traditional english but with a specific regional dialect.. I'm English by the way.
