I love Noom. I have been with Noom and Noom Med since February. Excellent tools and information are available! I like how the program educates on nutrition, behavior, and quite a bit of psychology. I also like that it’s predominantly self-paced and self-explored because that’s how I prefer to learn. People who don’t like to learn that way may not do as well in this type of program. You must have your own motivation and natural curiosity to take full advantage of the program. As a woman, age 51, who is postmenopausal by three years, I also appreciated the menopause course. Wish I had found it when I was pre-menopausal instead of post but there you go.

I love your being so clear. First, obesity is a disease not just a willpower issue. Secondly, also loved Dr CF comment on needing medications maybe like analogy to asthma medication. Not so much a question of being dependent on it but maybe necessary in order to help the body lose/ maintain weight loss in the long term. As more discoveries with these and newer ones in pipeline, as well as more data of progress with people on gpl1, a clearer picture of how the best way to continue on a journey.
I’m on that journey where I started almost a year and a half ago. I’ve lost 76 lbs with about 30-40 lbs to go. I started on Mounjaro then switched to Zepbound as I am not diabetic. I didn’t necessarily have the support they described here but someone mentioned they had started a year before me, also using the Lose it app. I incorporated that and still use today (389 days later). And btw that person who referred me does not still use it. But she didn’t have the lifelong issues of being over weight. In stead she gained weight after children and I think hormonal changes. But I know I need to. I need to get that protein in or I won’t reach that goal, let alone keep weight off. The up and downs of weight gain I do think make me insulin dependent as well effected my metabolism and amount of fat vs muscle. I can move so much better but I also know I need to now establish a better physical exercise routine. It’s the next step on my journey. Love anyone’s advice there. Hope my story helps someone else.

I went to a weight loss spa - not much if any “support” on how to lose it… or maintain it.

That’s part of why I make my podcast to help create resources for people who don’t get that advice from their prescriber. And now have a strength training program called GLP Strong, and there is more coming!!!

This makes sense but people still have to put in the work and make appropriate lifestyle changes in order to be successful. It is a LOT of hard work and not everyone can do it. I get frustrated when I watch a video of someone who's on one of these drugs and their figuring out their trips to go get fast food. No, no, no! Do they not get it? Take the drug and you eat whatever you want. That's not how it works. You have to make permanent lifestyle changes in order to be successful.

I changed my whole lifestyle after being diagnosed diabetic. Was put on Monjauro and I am down 60lbs, feel amazing, I eat tons of protein, whole foods, cut all the junk, weight lift 3-4x week, walk etc.
