To have come up with the ideas for some of those decks is phenomenal. But dropping a Spinal Tap reference into the commentary on a PTCG article comes a very close second. Top content as always dude.
Dandenne here! love the fact i am learning so much about the decks i wouldnt of seen (i started playing in 2018 & competitive in 2019) great video! also Detonate is my newly aquired word of informing my opponent to send their active pokemon to the trash :D
@@BurtsPTCG the best thing is, my first *competitive* was a necrozma malamar situation with altar of the moone or something, Was so good, shame rayquaza vmax featuring sheep wasnt as smexy D;
First rogue deck mentioned, I was playing Ultra Malamar Toolbox, and gonna be honest I was only able to beat the FossilBox lists due to Giratina and Lunala Prism (rogue inclusions of my own) Blissey was funny to go against, never was too scared of it but my god it could hurt like hell to brick against Venusaur Genesect was actually a deck that I played for quite some time, I’ll be honest. Such a cool archetype, and behaved neatly DarkTina Dragonair was very fun to play, I got shredded by it a few times at locals when dragonair first came out. Honestly might be worth revisiting in Regidrago builds even now lmfao I LOVE STUNFISK SPIRITOMB SO MUCH!! I honest to god played it for a brief while with Donphan to deal with Zoro/Pika without dealing with the prize change If i had to include 2 lists of an era: 2016 world champion deck Mega Audino by Shintaro Ito is a masterclass in meta predictions. And Ashton Lafford’s top 8 ontario regionals result in 2016 with Jolteon Vileplume Archeops in seniors is kind of interesting to look at as well
I played Mega Heracross back in the day for fun. Wasn’t built to counter anything directly just to withstand most meta decks and go toe to toe with them which it did. I remember everyone was running Computer Search or Dowsing Machine for the Ace Spec. I ran Gold Potion haha! Fun deck that would pull its own weight if I did my part every game. Most player’s forgot Mega Heracross even existed since absolutely nobody played or talked about it.
I miss Buzz/Garb shrine box so much, really hoping something similar comes back, because as your first point states, its hard building rogue decks, especially in a era where board wiping sableyes and tanky goodras exist
I've watched a few videos from you lately and they all are really amazing. A quick feedback: The overview screen of cards (for example on 4:52) is really amazing, all the info and sounds work perfectly together, however the sound effect gets a bit annoying if you show 5 cards in a row (happend in some other video). One thing I noticed is the good pacing in your videos, everything feels connected and not drawn out. Straight to the point. But sometimes it's a bit too fast, maybe taking a little few seconds of not talking between segments would help. For example in this video I almost immediately forgot the previous deck, because you rushed over to the next one, maybe putting all the combo pieces on the screen for 2-5 seconds with music or something would've helped. (also your vocabulary tends to be a bit repetitive, especially how you use "however", but that's a minor thing) I really enjoy your content and have been looking for pokemon tcg video essays for quite a while, keep it up!
Hope you liked the video! Leave your ideas for Part 2!
Greedent Golisopod won a big tournament on Limitless during the COVID era
Aha so it did! 😂👌Well remembered!

That first list looks like a good base for a casual list I want to build.
Nice! What you trying to build? :)
