      Yeah. you're perfectly right! You know we have so many strings libs these days and we sometimes miss the ice on the cake.

    Good video, thanks for posting it. I've had the full version of MSS for a couple of weeks now, it sure does seem like it will be my work horse strings library! I have not had the chance yet to learn the ostinato functions and the runs but I intend to. I started making my template and include a lot of connections with my controller. But one thing I noticed is after setting all the sliders in MSS for the velocities I'm used to using in LASS for gliss and portamento, they get changed if you accidentally hit a key that causes the switcher function to pull up a preset. So I have some work to do to make sure my settings are protected. This library is SO DEEP in function and customizability!!!! I feels as though all the time I spend with it is an important investment that will last a long time. So far I have used it on some sci-fi, straight orchestral, funk, and some old style motown, and have found it is VERY good sliding into multiple styles with very little effort, more than all my other libraries, it is very special in this way.

      Thank you so much for your feedback on it! I find it has an awesome, broad sound but as I've pointed out in the overview, the most special thing is runs and ostinatos..I really can't think anything better than MSS for that purpose.
      I wonder: have you layered it with some other strings libs maybe?

      @@GiulioPirondiniMusic I have not layered MSS with any other library yet. Surely in the future, but so far I just keep reaching for it and wind up sticking with it. I think if I need to do some intimate divisi writing, I may pull up LASS, it is wonderful for that.

    i dont have the ostinato patch nor the runs or scales patch? is there something i did wrong with installation? how do i find them?

    • @GiulioPirondiniMusic
      @GiulioPirondiniMusic  Год назад

      Hi mate! If you're playing with Modern Scoring Strings you must definitely have those patches inside of it.
      Ostinatos, runs or scales are not present in Modern Scoring Strings - Intuition Series nor in Modern Scoring Strings Expressive Legato.

    Thank you. Don't you think it's a bit too middy on the EQ side overall? by the way congratulations on being the Italian with the best english accent on the youtube of music :-)

    • @GiulioPirondiniMusic
      @GiulioPirondiniMusic  Год назад

      Hi Ces, I guess you’re right: EQ is a bit middy (yet I don’t feel it too much) but I think our ears could perceive it differently when orchestrating them with other instruments and taking in account the overall sound.
      Thx for the accent 🙏 Actually I don’t know what geographic area my pronunciation refers to the most.. maybe you can tell me! I believe it’s just a bastard melting pot 😅

    This focus on runs and ostinatos or soloist made me buy LASS 3. Theres too many Orchestal libraries that SUCK with soloist sections, specially on fast paced runs.

      As you know very well mate, strings libs market is definitely overwhelming nowadays..just too many! Waiting for the day they'll come up with ONE condensed library!

    What are your thoughts?

    • @GiulioPirondiniMusic
      @GiulioPirondiniMusic  2 года назад +1

      Sorry but I don't have LASS, actually I'd be interested to that comparison too. By now it's many years LASS lib is out, I've never tried it. I can guarantee anyway the MSS runs and ostinatos sound is definitely the best one I've ever heard till now.

      Thanks for the quick reply.
      I Like MSS sound a lot, but it seems more cinematic/symphonic to me (I don't have either) through the demos I heard.
      LASS seems to have more like a chamber, better defined sound, more appropriate for country - rock - pop music styles.
      I still don't know if the $200 difference for the divisi section is worth it or not though.

      I found lass to have problems with intonation. It sounded sloppy. However I haven't tried this library
