I have this headcanon theory type thing that the bosses are all parts of Eight's unwanted memories. Parallel Canon are the judgemental inklings or Squidbeak Splatoon members. Pinging Miracle are the bad memories of the octoweapons or the eight ball. And the Asynchronous Rondo are the bad memories and trauma that eight has about fighting through the Deapsea Metro. I don't know if anything here really holds water, but that's how it feels like to me.

This boss always gave off haunted child vibes to me. Something about the way it sings while spinning around and trying to find you makes it feel like some twisted version of hide and seek or red light green light.

It was a fervent prayer for a better life on the surface, acceptance of Octolings; it’s a song of liberation. So for that same song to be what this boss is wailing, it’s like it’s calling out for Marina to liberate it from Order’s control, even if that freedom only comes with death. Least that’s how I view it anyway
