I was there...U2 was great, but the crowd was very tame to say the least.
I was there for both nights the crowd seemed alright. I mean I was 8 years old and it was my first time watching/seeing my biggest hero’s and favourite band so that made the experience better haha

Indeed. The Paris concert, at least the one released on DVD is too polished , for instance the 11.11.2015 Paris concert in preparation for what was supposed to be the DVD concert(s) of 14+15 november, is also in my view the better one of the Paris shows.

Saw them opening 2 nights in Phoenix. 2 different shows. Did 7 different songs and stagings. Both awesome. Played from 1 side of the arena to the other. 2 stages. Surround sound. 10 & 10 sound and visual

Luved this show. The large screen in the middle representing Bonos hood as a kid was great. Unfortunately for Edge and that nasty fall. Unreal he just got up and returned to show without missing a beat....crazy!

I remember seeing a lot of U2 concert footage in the 80’s and they changed up the songs more, this is more of them playing threw the studio version of the songs (it could be because we just saw the highlights on TV). This is an incredible video, thanks for sharing.
Well, they were dealing with a lot of variables that they didn't have to deal with in the 80s, considering this was only the second show of the tour. Bono was still recovering from injuries from his Central Park bicycle accident (to this day he can no longer play guitar...some may say he never could though lol). They were obviously using a much more complicated stage set-up that required choreography they never had to worry about back then. So just to get the show ready at all by this point was an achievement. Even with all that, they did change 6 songs from the first night and Bono did completely change the lyrics to Bullet. I went to the first 4 shows in Vancouver and San Jose and thought I might be bored by the 4th night, but the night after the 4th show, I wished I were seeing them again. I did but it was 6 months later in Dublin. Can't wait to see them in Seattle in May.

Agreed. I saw them at the O2 arena in London and it was amazing. The band were so dialed and the stage setup was incredible. That being said, the outdoor Zoo TV show in Madison, Wisconsin was my all time favorite show. I’ve seen anything as spectacular, especially for it’s time. (And we were in the 9th row of the main floor) 😮

I’ve watched various interviews in which the interviewer asks some version of this question, “Did you ever dream back then that you would end up this successful?” And the answer is always some version of. “Actually, yes…” They had talent AND undying determination.

It's incredible how after years and years you can still find amazing musical gems on the RUclips channel, infinite thanks for posting this! I loved the I&E Tour setlist and sound of the shows, one gets used to the too familiar Paris concert, so every additional SB recording from that tour is so welcomed! :))))
Plus you gotta love the genuine spirit of this band, for instance one can clearly see Larry and Adam slightly embarrassed but still amused at the end of Beautiful Day when Bono seemingly wanted the song to go on a bit but the rest of the band thought differently ;))))
