@@iamericlenz I wish I had that feature already! But regarding the thumbnail, maybe I'm the wrong person to answer because I love the paper look (ruclips.net/video/8h6_ZsYSgJ0/видео.htmlsi=UEcViqUGIK7mm0G5).
Well done Eric, for seeing the light and your way forward. Follow your creative dreams and desires. The thumbnails are super cool. You should produce what YOU want and not what you think the audience would want ! Staying true to that concept is the best way to move forward honorably IMO… good luck 👍
Discovering your channel was pivotal for me. I have never been this excited to learn color grading again. I’m using most of your plugins and they are life changing. Thank you for producing such great contents. 🙏
Hey Eric, I found your channel today and I want to say, that I am already a huge fan of your content. I have already downloaded your free pdf-file from your website and I've read it through. I have no idea of what I am doing in color grading and I am thankful, that I found you. I like to encourage you to stay focused and do your thing. Because like a German Sprichwort says: " Qualität setzt sich am Ende immer durch." And you have so much of quality, as a RUclipsr and I think also as a person. Good luck. See you soon! Grüße nach Leipzig!
Let's just say, Yes! Your reasoning and decision makes a lot of sense, Eric, and many of us can relate.I'll be reaching out for training as I get through your color course. Thx again for bringing important clarity to your business for you and the rest of us.
This channel is truly the first channel that taught me how color grading in FCP actually works. I've watched countless tutorials and only stopped searching for more after finding this channel. Truly an underrated gem for me! However you continue next is up to you. I'll keep supporting!
I think both strategies (collaborating with brands or not) can work very well as long as one is honest with the audience. Good luck and can’t wait for more cool content 🍀🍀🍀
Make videos for sponsors; keep it super clear it's a sponsored video, but (yeah) don't accept sponsors related to FCP plugins, and other things that are the core of your reputation. I like having a source that can provide objective feedback about plugins, etc. Keep in mind: your videos are good not only because of the content and your subject matter authority, but also because of your personality and the form they take. Sponsors that want to reach your audience can pay you to make a video in your form for them for your audience. There is nothing wrong with that. If Gerald Undone did a video on a microwave I'd watch it because I'd find it interesting and I like him and the way he does videos.
Thank you so much! Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with taking sponsorships at all! But even if sponsors don't have anything to do with my core topics, I still need to negotiate and take care of all the stuff attached to it. I'd much rather do something else. :D
Very honourable. I don't we will mind if you do the occasional Ad to promote a tool you use though. So don't feel badly if you do them occasionally down the road. It can help pay for coffee, lights and microphones 😉. I like the thumbnail style very much!
Haha, why man? :D Thank you a lot! The other channel I mentioned at the end will be a bit more loosely. So if you're in for that ride, subscribe there. I'll be posting there within the next months. :)
@@iamericlenz I feel like there needs to be more people that are about the content and less about the fluff. I feel like you and Gerald Undone has a symbiotic vibe of "lets get you what you need efficiently". I just appreciate that.
@@lastyrsman Thank you so much! For me, it all comes down to what kind of content I'd enjoy myself. People occasionally start to compare my style to Gerald's but I think we just appreciate the same style of content. Also, there is a quote, "If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter". Communicating effectively is one of the hardest things to learn. I'm still pushing myself and try to practice this a ton because clear, concise and understandable communication is something I strive for. Lastly, people come here to learn things. The least I can do is to respect their time. :)
I totally get it but at the same time this just sounds like overthinking and overcomplicating from a small creator. Update videos like this usually get almost no views and the watch time is horrible so almost non of your subscribers will even know about the termination of the contracts and all your reasonings behind it. Also the new thumbnails dont seem like the most clickable but if you enjoy making them it might be worth a try no matter what. In any case I will be here for the tutorials :)
Appreciate your thoughts. Though, I don‘t make these videos for anyone. I always wished things would be a bit more transparent. So, I‘m making things more transparent. I don‘t make these videos for the views. :) There will be a lot of tutorials! :) Great you‘re around! :)
I love this! 👍🙏❤️ Hope many others will follow your example! Lost respect for most fcp-tubers when motionvfx switched to subscripion and all the sponsored tubers promoted it and defended the subscripion plan!
I do appreciate your compliment, but I want to bring to your attention that things aren’t as black and white as you may think. First things first, I’m not a big fan of subscriptions, too. It’s not necessarily the money that bugs be but rather the consequence that I cannot access my work if I don’t pay a subscription anymore. That’s why I switched from Lightroom and Photoshop to Capture One and Affinity a year ago. However, there are two things I think you should consider: 1) I’m in the lucky position that I sell plugins, training sessions and consulting for colour in Final Cut Pro, so as discussed in the video, I see myself more like a small business owner, rather than a content creator. The economics of being a content creator (alone) aren’t great if you don’t work with brands. At least from my experience. 2) In different situations, I can see a subscription making sense. See my video on Gling for example. Another great example is MotionVFX’ CineStudio. If you need to do a bunch of tracking or rotoscoping, the time saved outweighs the subscription cost by a long shot. So there are arguments for subscription. At the end of the day, it is the reasoning and the opinion that people share. You can agree or disagree, but I do not think that any of the creators in the FCP bubble did or said something that would be worth losing your respect over.
Hey everyone! Please let me know what you think about the new thumbnail aesthetic! Have a lovely weekend! 👊
Noticed the change immediately (though I think you have A/B testing on so I saw two versions) an really liked it for this style of video!
