Great video. I'm not a concrete contractor but I've poured a few sidewalks and driveways so I know enough to follow you pretty good. I really enjoy your videos. It's fascinating watching white men do concrete work. Here in Texas I haven't seen non-Hispanics pouring concrete since I was a teen in the 70s. And now I see your daughter helping on a few jobs. Mind blown! God bless you Mike.
It is nice to see women doing this. Watch your videos all the time. I am trying to learn to do cement just to know. Asked a few contractors in my area, but no one wants to have a newbie.
Sir, I am not an expert on concrete but seeing you guys pouring and finishing concrete. I realize it's an art that other concrete companies are loosing just because the all mighty $. I do appreciate a company taking pride on the job. I am in the west of the USA, and seeing how horrible the concrete industry is here is not the quality they are after is the quantity. Great video thanks 😊
I like the fiber for driveways and if I'm pouring something that is going to have a lot of weight on it like tractor trailers I use mesh and rebar with fiber. Helps to have good help that knows what they are doing. Nice job brother
The deep walls (frost ftg) is also important for dry weather that. Let’s the dirt expand and contract in changing weather conditions (rain to dry)in the summer can cause wall movement in summer time and cause Sheetrock to crack.
I subscribed to your channel and have been watching your videos for a few weeks now (thanks the covid). I find your work remarkable and the fact that you involve your daughter and your team is awesome. Hi 👋 from Toronto, Canada.
@@integr8er66 We love when customers watch. It's a good opportunity to educate them on where their money is going. What we are doing and why we are doing it. Plus I like getting to know my customers.
We poured a floor and the contractor had the icf walls up. I couldn't believe how much faster the concrete set up with the reflection of the white walls. If it wasnt for 2 of the guys from the wall crew helping us we would've lost it. That would've been an expensive lesson
Hi Mike, thanks for all the videos, your team does an excellent job!!! Can you do a close up of the differences, between the troweling when 1st hit, 2nd hit, so we can see what type of improvement hand troweling really makes?? Appreciate it. Joe
Looks good. I'm about to do a bedroom addition like that with existing hardwood floor I want to match. I'm thinking of putting the slab lower and using pt sleepers and plywood for the base. The only reason I guess to do concrete slab first is to keep the gasses in the ground. What do you think of that idea?
Mike, Great job. In Maine do you attach the (new) frost wall to the existing frost wall.of the house foundation? If so how is it done? Do you shoot rods, if that is the right terminology into the foundation to accept the new frost wall? Also what are your thoughts on ICF foundations vs a tradituonal foundation? I am considering on building something in northern WI where the weather may be similar to your. Thanks, Chuck
Just my opinion, but i think tia had the bullfloat on too much of an angle when dragging it back to herself. When that is done it has a tendensy too roll stones overs versus knocking them down. Outside of that i can’t knock your work. I love how u take pride in your work.
Hey mike I enjoy your videos- nice to see your family working with you. My son and daughters help me sometimes. I’ve recently (last few years) gotten into grinding concrete for polished floors and also to prep for epoxy coatings. We use the Lavina propane system. Right now we have only done commercial floors. Any advice on finding jobs in the residential side? Thanks again and we appreciate your quality work and videos. Henderson Floor Care
DIY because of there is no helmet, glove , barrier at the edges and tennis ball on screws. Professional besause of you guys did a flawless job! Yeah, you can Do It Yourself if you have the right tools and some years experience in your hand and head. BTW nice job, thx!
Advise.. Use gloves while working with concrete or epoxy.. Can cause real health problems later on.. Take it from me 30 years of experience in all round concrete work and floor and wall coatings

I love that you have taught your daughters the trade!! Awesome videos, Good father!!
When it looks that easy to do means the workers are really good at what they do.
The most beautiful concrete finisher on RUclips.
Man, I pray that my daughters grow up to work as hard as your daughter.

Mike, what brand rubber boots are you guys wearing. Hard finding a good pair these days.
Yeah I am interested in doing my floor. I have a question would you recommend using this product a sun room?

Hi Tia!
Hi!
Nothing like a customer hovering over you while doing a job. One of my pet peaves. nice job!
If my contractors have a problem with me watching then I have a problem hiring them.

Great work as always Mike!
Did u put any accelerator in the concrete too? We probably would have done 1.5-2percent poz 20.
See your daughters rocking division 3 tshirt. My son went to St Norberts in DePere WI. You don’t get those unless you went to the tournament. 👍👍👍
Muy buen trabajo excelente grupo de profesionales saludos desde Chile 💯💯💯👋👋👋🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
I get a 2 meter minimum with the company i use... They give me a break on delivery though and they have modern volumetric trucks which I liked using.

Yeah, it's like a sauna in there.
Bondo (youtuber) says the same thing. Plus the access is way better with no walls
I drive for a well known company in upstate Ny and curious what concrete prices are in other states. We are charging 150 a yard here.
Thx.
You're welcome!
What should I use to make a 16x16 extra drive way add on?

Yes, drill and pin (with rebar) to the existing foundation. ICF's make a great foundation.
Sure wanna try this on a 24x24... I'ma need some help and just don't know anyone with skills🙁
Looks like you went about 6 1/2” below the bottom of the door threshold. Thats what we typically do.
Ladies that do flatwork in Oregon don't look like that. She's a badass.
Where in Oregon do you work?
@@danielalonso6478 I work in the portland area. But I do not do concrete. I have before, but it is not my trade.
