7:00 fun fact, Jarraxus was considered a minion at the beginning and only replaced your hero after being played (hero cards didn't exist yet so the devs had to improvise). This meant that you were able to summon Jarraxus as a minion through other cards and effects. For example, Voidcaller was a minion that would summon a random demon from hand upon dying. Thus with Voidcaller you could summon Jarraxus onto the board. Only after reworking the basic set years later Jarraxus got updated into a hero card and wasn't a minion anymore.
And siece it was a minion DEMON you could had killed ebeny jeraxxus with demon pact (because back then you could target enemy demon too and it was 0 mana)
7:40 another fun fact: The Recruit keyword is one of the most forgotten keywords in the game. The mechanic of summoning minions from your deck has been consistently used for years after Kobolds& Catacombs, but the keyword itself has never appeared on a card after this expansion again. The best explanation for this "keyword neglect" is that the devs wanted to simplify cards by removing unnecessary keywords - if the player has to read a bunch of subtext it can feel overwhelming. Since the effect was easy to describe without a keyword there was no need to keep it around anymore in the eyes of the devs. Funnily enough this isn't the only example, the same happened with Enrage (something happens when the minion isn't at full health) and Echo (cards that can be played infinitely but only for that turn). Even the reverse happened with Elusive which didn't exist in the past and was just written in text as "can't be targeted by spells and hero powers". Hearthstone is silly.
The reverse also happened with lifesteal, it used to write somthing like restore health to your hero equal to the amount of damage this minion dealt. The change also lead to a weird bug for some time, where if you had an effect that changes healing to damage, the damage dealt to your hero would be recognized as damage dealt by the minion, which triggered the attempted heal again, resulting in an infinite self damage loop until you die. This is no longer the case of course.
It was actually the opposite, the instant death thing only happened before they made lifesteal a keyword, and it wasn't a bug its just how that interaction worked. They changed it when they added lifesteal because now it was a lot more likely to happen and cause frustration (the only healing -> damage cards are priest and the only pre-frozen throne lifesteal card was mistress/queen of pain, a warlock card so it was really unlikely to come up in normal play)
If this video was made a little bit later it might’ve mentioned the Protoss, their stats aren’t uniquely large, but it’s worth noting that they’ve got some of the only cards cards more than 10 mana without any self-discount method, relying on other Protoss related cards to be actually playable
I definitely feel you about the job stuff. I got let go from my job back in June, and I’ve been looking ever since. Something about the job market is just so fucked right now.
Crazy that you don't have more subscribers, your polish is amazing and script entertaining keep it up dude. I don't want any other hearthstone content since I quit years ago.
Now make smallest minion skibidi fortnite skibidi skibdi before gta6 low taper fade I bought prophenretantion in egypt AND imagine what they Do They give u chooped chin Ninjas low taper fade is still massive U lnow what else is massive the minions in hearthstone
reminds me of a time where boards matter. you could have an infinite board and summon all of these and EVERY. SINGLE. CLASS. would have an answer. IN STANDARD! insane, makes me wanna just call it all rigged and movemon (which I have, havent played all winter now, kind of interesting watching from the outside.) the game used to be so slow, it was a discussion where one person achieved victory. now, the game feels much like how discourse has gone: you just vomit as much convincing nonsense as you can because you have no idea whats actually good or not anymore, and the MMR systems control your outcomes more than you do.
Darkness shuffles into the opponent's deck. If it shuffled into your own at least you would have some agency in summoning it earlier.
I gotta improve at reading

Yeah I remember when they switched it to a hero card. I thought it would be so good

4:30 “No way you know what shifting shade did”, me sweating profusely; DDDD-DON’T TOUCH THAT

They should absolutely make recruit evergreen

... how did you right-justify your comment?

Thanks for commenting. Yeah it sucks and kinda takes the floor out from under you. Best of luck! Always hope!
They changed the darkness to shuffle cards into your deck now?
Chundo changed the Darkness text telepathically
It’s the worst thing
Happy new year chundozer
I still find it funny that 'order in the court' was considered to be nerfed twice yet it's back where it started.
The darkness would shuffle it into your OPPONENT’S DECK, not yours 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
