For me it is garbage an electronics that deforms the original signal and even more when it has the controls, that whatever they say they are on the signal path. Even when excludable there is at least an additional contact. Tone control is a comfort but it is also a compromise. For you acceptable, actually necessary, for others unnecessary and detrimental.
