My hats off to the both Davis Shane and Martin Guilbault both Francophone’s who speak English very amazingly. Respect from the English community. Condolences to the family for their lost!
The building owner Emile Benamor was also the owner of the building caught on fire and killed 7 last year. If you search his name you’ll find google review under his business with many complaints of his rentals, and there were some accusations from his tenant on facebook too with photos of horrible living condition. Apparently he’s a problematic landlord, and a rude lawyer with bad review. It made me think someone is targeting specifically at his buildings. Maybe he pissed off some mafia guy…
Old buildings, 100+ years of “handyman “ doing electrical work. These buildings go up all the time in Montreal, sometimes an insurance fraud, sometimes organized crime, sometimes a firebug.
Historic buildings are a precious resource and cities that have none are sad places to live. Besides many new buildings are not much safer AND this was set by an arsonist
@@robertruffo2134 yes? I don't understand, are you disagreeing with my statement? I've lived in Montreal for 30 years. Fires are not uncommon unfortunately

Maybe he was cutting expenses to make more profit. Like not keeping his airbnb safe. Read the google reviews. Disgusting conditions
@mg79277 that too but both fires were started by someone, they just said they have video of someone breaking in

@@gregorystiller975 They're not really more common than elsewhere sadly.
So what's suspicious about it? Owner was lazy or hoping for an insurance payout?
😂😢 by suspicious they actually mean non accidental
Must be some important persons house or building. For them to care.

I remember a few cases in California decades ago that were started by Firefighters.. hopefully this is not the case this time.
Not when the same owners are involved, and fire accelerants are found via mass spectrometer proof.
