@@roda8122 hi mate just wondering why the seadoo is flushed this way? Iv always has outboard and the water needs to be on first so you don't damage the rubber impeller on water pump...not being a smart arse just really intrigued as to why and also I'm getting a sportster very soon.
John Dunstan that’s actually a great question. So on these the water is pushed through the system by the jet flow from the propulsion impeller. That includes the exhaust cooling jacket. If it isn’t running water can build up in the exhaust and back up into the engine. In the water there is no water flow until the drive impeller is spinning. I hope this answers your question. Thank you for asking it.
@@roda8122 well that is different isn't it...Ok that makes perfect sense...yes you could hydrolock the motor...so I would imagine you wouldn't idle it for too long when in the water....also loved the video...was very much straight to the point. Thanks.
I couldn't see exactly where you hooked the water hose up? I have the same boat...I see a flat plastic cap and a long metal tube...which one do I hook the hose up to? Thank you for the video
I saw your video. I was thinking of buying a Sea Doo Sportster, but they seem noisy. Is the boat noisier than say a 16 foot boat with a 90 hp four cycle outboard engine? Jerry
I have the same model. I took the out of the water yesterday, but for some reason, I can’t get the engine going once it’s out of the water. It just makes a “tak tak tak” noise. Any idea?
nice video!! i have the same boat, same year also super charger 215, your boat condition is like brand new 10/10!!! my boat is just barely 10/6 :) i used it in salt water in NY, i am also looking to putting the boat into a fishing boat too, a trolling motor & a fish finder setup could be an A PLUS.
Berry Guam thank you for the comment. (: these boats are awesome. Yeah the fish finder I installed was a game changer. I have ran mine in saltwater a few times but I’m mostly in lakes. Haha
Question.. I have a seadoo challenger. The quick connect I know you can leave it in the socket of the boat. But my question is.. Does that port do anything when running the boat... Can you actually just get a 3 foot hose and leave it in the port at all times as a permanent extension if you were handy enough to mount and secure it. Would that damage anything, does it take water in the port when using or is it just for flushing I'm just so curious because I don't see anything thing really about this. On the challenger the port is very deep under so it's hard to get to unless you are standing behind it. I actually have an air dock so the boat raises out of the water. I flush and clean it that way with out pulling it from the slip. But I'm thinking to make an extension with a hose connection and pvc. That way it will be right at the top. But I can't imagine I'm the only person to think of this or why it's not there to begin with. Does it pull any water in for cooling etc. I mean it is completely submerged with no cover when in use does it do anything. IDK what do you think of my idea?
It isn’t the craziest idea. I don’t think it draws in water from it because it’s out of the water whenever you are going more then like 10mph. I do know on the older SeaDoo jet ski this was used as a water outlet. I do know the drive impeller pressurizes the cooling system on the 4tec. I don’t think it would hurt anything as long as it stays open and you don’t seal it but I would ask SeaDoo directly so you can be sure.
Chrystian Tyler, did you ever end up doing what you described? I have a question about the flush port. I have a 2006 Challenger, and I purchased a quick connect adapter from Lowes tonight, but I can't get it on the flush port on my boat. Can you help me out please?
My sportster is overheating...the engine coolant is below the cool line, should I refill the coolant, or do you think it could be another issue such as the intake? Thanks for the help!
I need so much help. My boyfriend and I were doing this last night. He would turn it on then I would turn the hose on. Once I heard it starting to die or turn off I would turn the hose off. What happens if there was a little bit of water that was pushed through when the engine is off?
tracy jaymee well if the motor still turns over it didn’t get too much in it. It usually fills the exhaust then runs back into the exhaust valve and down into the motor. It can run for a little while without water and not hurt anything. I would say don’t let it run more than like 30 seconds without water.
When in the water the drive impeller actually causes the flow of water through the heat exchanger and also flows water into the exhaust after it is left the motor. Flow doesn’t happen when the engine is off so there is no issue with this under normal operating conditions. When we flush the motor, we want to replicate this because there is a small chance (because of a lack of exhaust gas flow) that the water could end up flowing up the exhaust and into the motor.
Jn Schrick yeah. Definitely ask when the jet pump was last rebuilt. When I bought mine I didn’t think of it and the drive impeller and the seal for it needed to be replaced.
@@youronlyhereoncebigcat5310 so this will work with the sportster 1800. Mine is long gone now but I did flush them and this is how I did it. But like he mentioned, engine start, water on, water off engine off.
it is good to meet the cool people who with the same boat here!!! seadoo sportster buddies!! i just recently did the compressions test before i start fog oil the engine, all three compression are 95, i think the normal compression should be 120 to 130 right?
Berry Guam yeah it is. Lol. That seams a little bit low. Did you test it with the throttle open? As long as they are all the same that’s what’s most important. It is a low compression engine. So 100-120 is normal. So it’s not to far off.
Hi, I have the same Seadoo. Thanks for the video. Can you please tell me what kind/size and crank power battery do you have for your jet boat? I don’t think I have a right battery for my boat. It won’t start just clicking noise.
CustomWerks I would check 1)ground cable from the battery maybe corroded 2)Jump the solenoid with screw driver to see any different 3) take out a red cable from solenoid and jump straight to the battery to see your starter spins.
cuvo219 it’s just to the right of the jet pump. If you are standing behind it. It might have a quick disconnect for a garden hose threaded into it so it will probably look different. I’ll make a video about this soon.
Good job. I like that the video was short and to the point.
Declan Reiley thank you. I looked for a video like this when I first got this boat and didn’t have much luck so I made one.

How to winterize

Where did you get the rear view mirror from looking for one for mine to put on wake tower

Sorry for asking, we gpt same boat and can't seem to find the hose connector :-(
How do you change the oil in one of these !!!!! I need it ASAP 😭 or just the right Instruction!
is that the same way to flush for the challenger?

hi, i have the same boat too, is the trouble still continue ?
I had this issue once. There are little inline fuses in the engine bay. I had water in one of them and the harness wasn’t getting power.
Would this count as a de-winterization? I have to drive 2 hours out of town to do it not knowing when I bought it :/
Humberto Pichardo I wouldn’t. No. This is just to flush the lake water/ salt water out of the water passage ways.
My Sportster with a 951 rotax stall out after hard turns, runs great outside of that. Any thoughts?
I am not familiar with the rotax motors. If it’s carbureted it could be fuel starving.

Explain to me why the motor has to be running before you turn on the watering and turn off the water before you kill it

Thanks for the video! Random question: How did you get to the inside of the fiberglass to install the tower on the front sjde?
I actually got this boat with the tower installed already. Sorry. Wish i could help.
I am going to look a used sportster 2006 215hp. do you have any tips?

Does this work for a twin engine sportster 1800?

Art Tran right now it’s a super start captainJ. Aka 24m. It’s 500cca. Does it still chirp when you first put the key to it?
CustomWerks yes, chirp twice then just click noise. Will check the Solenoid and starter later, thanks
Art Tran let me know how it goes. I asked because I had a no start condition but it wouldn’t chirp. The fuse for the main harness was corroded.
CustomWerks I would check 1)ground cable from the battery maybe corroded 2)Jump the solenoid with screw driver to see any different 3) take out a red cable from solenoid and jump straight to the battery to see your starter spins.
Art Tran exactly how I would go about it except I have an temporary ignition trigger that jumps the starter. Haha
I can’t find the house connection on the baot
