Your capital has much worse appeal because it's surrounded by marsh and jungle. The other tiles aren't bothered by that so much because they have coast to improve their appeal.
Which actually dumb 😅. Jakarta, located in swamp area. But still can be a big port town that attracts local people at that time until the colonialism era.
"Hey the volcano just devastated the island, removing all resources and features around it...let's build a campus right next to it!" 😂 I'm sure that won't come back to bite you, Ursa!
Happy new year Ursa! I like the sound of an optimised Ursa - learning the high level multiplayer skills is a whole new challenge for you and I am really looking forward to it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR URSA! Great to see you back and let us hope this year Ursabear will be rescued from the underwater dungeon of the giant crabs so that he may embark on even greater adventures!
Yay! So very excited for an Indonesia TSL game! It's cool that this map gives you enough space that you don't have to do a later era start. Bravo for the strats that overcame Wilhelmina! Huzzah!
Hey Ursa, I love ur videos, I had watched spurts here and there but never really subscribed but I made sure to now. I love that you put out a lot of content and you just seem so happy ots hard to hate. The only thing I worry about is a lot of civ RUclipsrs burn out and I hope you're able to keep a balance. Watching this series made me try my own run of saphs east asia, the dutch didnt spawn for me so I held off on settler spamming until I stacked the government plaza, magnus and the ancestral hall and I was able to spam out settlers really fast from my capital. I also hard pivoted into my economy rather than science and while I definitely have the production and purchasing power to pump out 4 battleships a turn vietnam seemed to have run away with science from the start and was too inland for me to inpact them late game. I did enjoy you min maxing the hell out of what you had though!!
I play a lot of MP on PS5. The best players exploit golden ages as much as possible to get ahead. With Indonesia I like to open with two holy sites for the civics boosts into settler and harbour spams. Free inq for first two ages then monumentality to aid my second expansion. It’s really powerful as by the end of the era you are building/buying shipyards, jongs and ready for genocide.
Dude, the idea of kicking the Dutch out of Java in Batavia (now Jakarta) was planned three centuries ago 😂😂 also, the location of "Mataram" city also historically correct 😮
if you want to improve further on the game i highly recommend Soger. his channel is all about finishing the game in as few turns as possible, and the way he plays around withe the AI is insane
4:21 Says the guy who didn't toward the coast OR the lake to take advantage of his civs abilities! Challenges are all well and good but they are RARELT optimal!
hey ursa! do you think that you could do a late game explanation for the different victories? usually i get to late game and i don't know how to close off my games. i think i dont even know what the scientific projects are lmao thank you for your videos! xx
I know you have the rule settle in place but every once and a while you can settle according to the Civ you are playing! That capital settle hurt my soul...
@@UrsaRyan Ah, I neglected to take into account a) Portugal becoming a priority target and b) Yongle yongling all over everyone. e: and c) Kupe kuping all over everyone as well.
Saph's maps are cool and all but not putting Gitarja on a coast a crime. This map also has a lot of rainforest which means slow start and I am not particularly a fan of this one
I respect your commitment to the true TSL start. I wouldn't have been able to resist settling the copper.
It took everything I had not to move
Indonesia can become quite insane on a map with a lot of coast/islands. This is going to be fun.
Such a fun civ to play!
Saph's maps really are the main thing bringing me back to this game time and time again.
Saph is a legend of the craft!
Your capital has much worse appeal because it's surrounded by marsh and jungle. The other tiles aren't bothered by that so much because they have coast to improve their appeal.
I think it was more of a joke about how dire it must be to live in the city
Haha it was indeed a joke but the facts are correct, that is why!!
Which actually dumb 😅.
Jakarta, located in swamp area. But still can be a big port town that attracts local people at that time until the colonialism era.
"Should we get started? Of course we should get started!"
"And now, for an important update"
I'll keep going, even in 2024. Happy new year!
hello friends, happy 2024 for you all
Happy new year!
What a magnificent fight against the Dutch. Talk about risk-taking!
We went for it and I think it worked!!
"Hey the volcano just devastated the island, removing all resources and features around it...let's build a campus right next to it!" 😂
I'm sure that won't come back to bite you, Ursa!
I never does!!!
Happy New Year to you Ursa and anyone who reads this as well. Let's hope we all get to have an exciting yet fun year, with Civ and more!
Happy new year!!
Happy New Year! I've always wanted to see Indonesia on this map!
Huzzah!!!
Happy new year Ursa!
I like the sound of an optimised Ursa - learning the high level multiplayer skills is a whole new challenge for you and I am really looking forward to it.
This is gonna be fun! Already smashing the Dutch is a wonderful start. For a second there I thought they'd managed to defend
Noone can stand against my human wave attack!!
Whar a nice little early war to start the year. Well done. This is one of my favorite Civs. Awesome Unit and Improvement, wirh great abilities.
HAPPY NEW YEAR URSA! Great to see you back and let us hope this year Ursabear will be rescued from the underwater dungeon of the giant crabs so that he may embark on even greater adventures!
Next series will explore this more
Always love to see more big TSL games, especially on Saph's maps.
Also love to see the daily uploads are back too.
Huzzah!!!

Man getting that catapult snipe was clutch. If that thing just hangs out in the capital and defends the entire push goes nowhere.
Catapult capital is indeed a true pain
Ursa from last series: Omg why did I put my campus next to this volcano. It's ruined everything!
Ursa from this series: A PLUS 4 CAMPUS YOU SAY!?!?!?!
I have definitely put on the Christmas calories. Glad that you are back. I hope you had a lovely Christmas break.
Was amazing, thank you = ) Very restful!
Happy new year! I wish the 2nd Dutch city was on the rice because seeing two city centers by the golden gate Bridge would be amazing
you and the Dutch both suppressing each other is actually a beautiful metaphor for colonialism and how oppression also harms the oppressor

It's a fun challenge isn't it!! I have another tactic for this map I'm trying atm... we'll see how it goes!!
so happy to see your content this new year! you are single handlely making me love civ 6
Happy new year, Ursa! 🎉 And I'm looking forward to this. My Indonesia game was awesome :)
Ur tsl vids are my favorite to watch.
Why thank you = )
I have been missing your daily videos. Very happy they are resuming.
Happy 2024 to all the Bears out there !! I hope you wished for Civ VII !!
If you didn't I'll be sad
I mean at this point if we had to choose between CIV VII or Ursa's drawings, that's not an easy one.
Greetings from Indonesia Ryan. Here's for another amazing year of civ in 2024 🎉
Huzzah!!!

Finally finding some time to watch my favorite bear playing my favorite game
14:35 Three Rainforest tiles and a Pillaged one! Just wait until you get that a mine on that Copper!
And the marsh tiles affect it as well I think.
Woo hoo! Love me an Indonesia game to start the new year!
I am excited !! I’ve missed the daily videos!
On this map always remember that Reefs give +3 defense mod
Happy new year!!! I missed you
Happy new year!
Daily videos again! I freaking love this channel for that
We're back!
Not settling on the coast made me throw my headset in rage lol
Always obey the TSL!
Keep up the Deity ++ content!😊
My favorite civ! Looking forward to this one
INDONESIA MENTIONED!!!!! RAHHHHH.. *indonesian anthem played* and I think i'm your first Indonesian subscriber lol.
Haha - I think there are quite a few of you! = )
Welcome back ❤
Huzzah!!!
Dude, the idea of kicking the Dutch out of Java in Batavia (now Jakarta) was planned three centuries ago 😂😂 also, the location of "Mataram" city also historically correct 😮
Huzzah!
Buy the fish tile below the land at 18:20, its so good!
Yay, daily videos again!
Huzzah!!!
Ursa Ryan : Let’s declare an early war !
Me *sigh
Ursa Ryan : Oh no the Dutch have more unit than me. They just killed 2 of my Galley.
Me *roll eyes
2 rice and 2 banana source nearby, proper Indonesia landscape
Thank you Ursa!
Happy 2024 Bears!
Happy new year!
Gelukkig nieuwjaar!
Ah, this map has that new amphibious warfare smell.
if you want to improve further on the game i highly recommend Soger. his channel is all about finishing the game in as few turns as possible, and the way he plays around withe the AI is insane

Hey - love the tsl maps - pls pls do the ynmap tsl Silk Road map from steam workshop on diety ++ soon!!
Early bears, assemble! happy new year! let's hope it brings prosperity to our great Ryzantium!
Happy new years Huzzah!!!!!
Huzzah!!!
Happy New Year's Ursa + fellow Bears.
Happy new year!
Happy New Year🎉🎉🎉
Happy new year 🎉 ursa
Happy new year!
hey ursa! do you think that you could do a late game explanation for the different victories? usually i get to late game and i don't know how to close off my games. i think i dont even know what the scientific projects are lmao thank you for your videos! xx
Yeah course! Keep watching these Deity ++ series - especially the previous ones - as I tend to do a lot more late game stuff on those!
@@UrsaRyan thank you! religiously watching your vids
Omg 2024!!!! Let's go bears!
Huzzah!!!
Skipping that copper was hardcore.
Good thing Wilhelmina didn't slot in her own Twilight Valor, isn't it!!
That would have been carnage!
2+2+2=6 the arithmetic checks out
No more Santa, naughty, nice, hohoho
Marsh-a, Marsh-a, Marsh-a!
If this is Ursa it's always a very good year =]
Oh you
Catherine and Joao wondering why Ursa is on -4 Diplo Favor per turn....
Sssshhhh don't tell them
Early 2024 bears, HUZZAH!!!
Huzzah!!!
just dont forget your flood barrier
I know you have the rule settle in place but every once and a while you can settle according to the Civ you are playing! That capital settle hurt my soul...
Always obey the tsl rule! Else we all desend into chaos
40 minutes passes in what feels like the blink of an eye... 🙂
Cheers = )
The massive coincidence that the Jakarta srttlement is settled close to where the real Jakarta stands
It's a TSL map for a reason = )
Happy Huzzah Year
Huzzah!!!
yay!
Huzzah!!!
just booted the game up but why is the netherlands cap called Jakarta... and for some reason my settler lens aint working :/
20 civs, so much coastline, Deity++
Portugal's going to be the final boss, aren't they?
Just you wait...!
@@UrsaRyan Ah, I neglected to take into account a) Portugal becoming a priority target and b) Yongle yongling all over everyone.
e: and c) Kupe kuping all over everyone as well.
Why dont you buy tiles to improve yields?!
Who let the Dutch, ursa
Hussszah🎉
Huzzah!!!
URSA HELP!
My first settler takes 26 turns ..why? All other units are normal time.
Do I have a Mod that needs to be disabled?
Sounds like a mod!
🖖
If Civ7 doesn't get released, does that mean bad-arts-purgatory forever?
We don't think about that possibility
It's so hard for me to watch anyone playing Gitarja and not automatically taking fish boat pantheon. It's the obvious choice.
Actually I didn’t understand why is the Dutch capital named Jakarta by default??
TSL rules I suspect!
Saph's maps are cool and all but not putting Gitarja on a coast a crime. This map also has a lot of rainforest which means slow start and I am not particularly a fan of this one
I think a Ceres map wouldn't work as a series. It would be too small.
nice
Huzzah!!!
Not starting on the coast as Indonesia is kind a letdown, but still happy that you are doing daily video again
Always obey the TSL lolo - always obey!!!
Mr artist

Shortest 38 minutes today....
Also you should definitely get used to playing online speed
Algorithm 426
a
indonesia is the 2nd worst TSL start in my opinion.
only scythia is worse, especially on the vanilla maps.
