Down here in Bardstown, KY, Simple Man and Wagon Wheel are on that list, too. But list violations still run rampant in the wee hours at the local bars. ;)
Where’s Born to be Wild? We had to learn that one on the fly when playing a biker bar on Long Island. Guy told our lead guitarist “play Born to be Wild or I’ll eat you guitar!!” 😳
I had an 80's band for 5 years and our main rule was NOT playing the same songs that everyone played. We got more compliments with that band than any other band before.
Haha yet... those songs still work... we get 200 people a gig.. small clubs and they all still love those songs... I will play puff the magic dragon if the room is always full.... hahaha

Not sure if the fella with the blond hair on keyboards here is still with you - this was 2014 after all and time moves on plus we have a geezer buggering up our country as Prime Minister here called Boris Johnson who looks somewhat similar. I'd settle for Elvis' "In the Ghetto" and Michael Martin Murphey's "Wildfire". These are all songs that should never be played again.. On a serious note, all of you are some serious players. Only people as good as you could have so much fun playing overplayed songs. Whomever the female singer is, she has an extremely interesting take on the vocals. Please tell me The Band Geeks are making a living playing music.
Hi. Ann was listening to the lead solo and picked up on the guy's "obvious" extra slides and notes(delay free) and found it funny. I picked up on it right away. We had lead guitar player that did this sort of thing. Also, the solo is just a bit off and dry. I can't explain it any better than that.
Maybe there's a cultural difference because i live in Holland but my "wedding banned" list would include I will survive and it's raining men... and Summertime for jazzier gigs 😖

All I hear in 'Sweet Caroline' is Andy Ascolese playing 'Octopus' Garden'
