I just got my first ever freelance job as a children’s book illustrator for a book about crocodiles! I’m going to watercolour it I’m so excited. Stephs style inspired me as well as adams dogs with jobs illustrations! ( the crocodiles have human clothes and characteristics) 😊
i love how the 4 colors for the sweater are just..... slightly different versions of the other colors already used (green hair->mint, blue overalls->cornflower, light skin tone->yellows)
i also think it's so funny adam HATED that mint green and called it yucky or something but then picked out a different (similar) green for the hair tie and really liked it
Half of my head is that green color Adam chose for the hair! The other half is a deep cool-toned purple! :”) I love slime green hair, so this is an absolute win for me!

Also the Pattern Community is great and you get some cool benefits like the special Patreon Server on Discord and Special Streams with Steph and Adam once a month where we get up to all sorts of shenanigans. I'd love to see more colour-blind videos those are some of my favourite videos on here. Thought that Adam was going to be closing a random colour pallet there for a second kinda like the videos with the pigs.
I think this video was really fun! If you haven't already, I think another fun challenge could be either: - kinda switching the roles that you two had in this video (Steph picks the colours, but Adam is the one who has to choose where they go on his own sketch) - Adam vs Steph naming the colours of those markers!
Maybe you could do a digital version with only lineart and Steph colors her version of it first but Adam is not allowed to see it. Afterwards Adam could try to get the right colors by a description of Steph. At the end you could compare the two versions to see how different they are from each other. ^^@@DoodleDate

Steph could do that challenge where you set your monitor to only graytones, then try to color a piece. It would be fun to see her try to pick colors without being able to see them properly, just so she can experience a little of what Adam goes through lol But for that to work, they would have to prepare a picture with random colors for her to pick from, I think. Water based colors work best on watercolor paper. Just as a side note, colored pen caps will never exactly match the ink. Plastic pigments can be different from ink pigments. Some companies get close, that's why Steph likes to swatch.

I now desire a sweater with that exact color pallette. Idk why, it just looks so cozy and appealing, like a refreshing breeze in the spring sun. I also really vibe with the green hair. Green hair is like my thing. Since I don't wanna dye my hair, I give all my characters green hair, at least the ones that are supposed to be a reflection of myself.
I keep wondering Adam, when you do art for yourself do you pick a colorpalette that looks right to you? With no regards to what the color names are or what they actually look like? Or do you prefer to pick the 'right' colors but then would the art look off to you but right for others?
Honestly yeah! I tend to just do my own thing and pick what in my opinion seems right for me. If i do ever get stuck though i'll ask Steph just to be double sure LOL

GUYS! I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT COLOR ADD! excuse any crazy typos I just had dental surgery done. But uno pared with a company to make color bind uno set They come with a basic color blind language called color add.
Adam should have gotten to swatch these on paper before giving them to Steph bc ohuh is notorious for having swatch colors that don’t look like the cap color 😭
