Why has such beautiful handiwork like this been lost to the ages? Machines may make things easier, but they can't make things as beautiful as these.

I think the answer to that is that mass production earns more money, and these items are very difficult to make, but on the other hand it makes them far more special and valuable.

The masterpiece of the Frères Rochat; it uses the most compact mechanism of it's type, and entire mechanism is in the end of the gun body where the bird comes out the front. Originally sold in pairs, only one matched pair is known to exist, and a handful of loose examples. The last one to be found was restored by Parmigiani, and I believe that was about ten years ago.

When visiting Patek Philippe Museum in 2005 I remember seeing a clock only 8mm diameter. Imagine all the parts of clock movement squeezed in so miniature size and still being functional.

When Clive Barker described how Lemarchand was a bird box builder more than 10 years ago, I never imagined that such things could exist until today. Now I really must ask, was the Lament Configuration a fictional invention or a reality? What an amaizing concept.

And yet another beautiful HQ music box I would love to have. And clock/watch. "If you need to ask how much, then it's not for you." How many times have you guys heared that? Well bullshit. I like to know how much money I'm spending...you guys would too. I'm sure. That will be $235,000.00 please. WTF?????? Yes, If it's worth it to you. And you and I was a Billionaire with change. Billionaires are nice. Especially if they are me or you. Preferably me lol But if you, I need to borrow some $$$ please. About $2.5 million in cash. If you are a Billionaire, you wont miss it. Pay you back in monthly installments of $125.00.
