I love Gary Coleman, the world and his family turned their backs on him yet he fought for his integrity till he died and I totally respect him for that. He never got the respect that an average person gets and that is why he wished he had never been a child star.

He didn't have any family, money, a bunch of deamons from the past. His foster parents took much of his money, health problems too ... Plus I think people were extra aggressive toward him because he was small. I can see why he lost his sanity. People are cruel, it's a cruel world, It's to bad Gary couldn't find any peace, because he brought a lot of joy to many. Greatest child star ever! rip

He was in pain and often sick on the show. Todd, "Willis" said he himself cried one day because Gary was throwing up and barely able to act, but the show was lied to about his health by his parents. Gary sued his own parents for over a million for his finances. I'm glad he got the part and I'm glad his parents didn't say no, he's too sick to work. At the time, he was probably feeling the same, but who can blame him for saying he wished he'd of never done it or did it way differently.

I mean asking someone if the rumors we're true that he was broke and working as a security guard seemed irrelevant and outta place. Even if it was true, did anyone expect him to deny it? But being in that situation alone is quite painful and hard to live with especially as the media has a way of portraying people like like they're worst person in the world. What I’ve learned about TV actors and movie actors is fans react to them differently. When a TV character is in your home every week or everyday u feel u know them it’s more intimate. However, when it’s a movie actor it’s on a big screen so their image is much bigger. We tend to be in awe of movie actors and talk to TV actors like they’re our friends and neighbors. The fact that someone just asks “can u say your catchphrase” like he’s a wind up toy, proves my point.

There a lot of folks who couldn’t go to movie theaters on a weekly basis. But Gary did those NBC movie of the week (original productions) and man, did he deliver. Because at school on Monday during recess, somebody would bring it up.

I think the world and life was not fair to him.
Feel sad whenever i view reruns of Different Strokes.Eventhough death is part of life..deaths of those who gave us laughter does indeed saddens us especially child stars.

I agree with this completely. I feel for the fact he never got help for the emotional baggage of turmoil and hurt he was carrying around. Sad he had to die to be free from it but I am glad he is not hurting.

If I was there I would have said that he was my favorite actor growing up. I seen all his movies and I would wish I was his friend like Dudley. He was so cool as hell!

Had Mr.coleman been alive now he could of easily started a Podcast on YT and few Patreon accounts and he wouldn't be broke or need to work a regular 9-5 he truly was a genuine guy just wanted to be treated with respect. shame on all the leeches in his life smh

  • @xamergt

They asked him very uncomfortable questions but doesn't hesitate to any of them and answer then back with respect.
Totally as a kid was genius actor.
Bit his health issues make him hard to think of him in movies as an adult.
I think maybe it was having s career as a host presenter interviewer of other celebrities because he also has the charisma of spontaneous speaking ,he was very clever.
    Sadly we will never know.
