Butt joints you should know. (basic joints for beginners)

Amazing ceejay. That was useful.You could have done a box to reinforce the joints.
One useful tip is the jointing of two woods face side to face side or edge to edge to increase the thickness.
I made a box with 10mm panel and when I used 16mm screw for the hinge it is pocking inside the box.
I now have to use smaller screws less than 10mm or better to use 2x10mm panels jointed together.
Please kindly demonstrate the various joints with projects.
