04/05/2020 Brookhaven Firefighters Save Dogs In House Fire

House fire in Brookhaven, Sunday April 5, 2020.
At approx. 6:20 p.m. authorities were notified of a house on fire on Yaphank Avenue between Deer Meadow Run and Harcourt Street.
The Brookhaven Fire Dept., SCPD 5th Pct., and South Country Ambulance responded.
Fire was located on the first and second floors of the two-story house.
Firefighters discovered on unconscious dog and removed it to the rear yard where they were able to resuscitate the animal.
A second dog was discovered in the house and removed to the year yard as well.
A woman was in the residence at the time of the fire and it was unclear at this time if she was injured.
Numerous surrounding fire departments responded to assist Brookhaven firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
