Having been a former WV animal shelter director, you do have to be a little cautious, just in case. 👵
the most amazing part is how they managed to find 12 different owners who all failed to teach their dogs how to walk on a leash
They need to use prong collars on dogs this size, an excited dog will always pull no matter the training unless they have spent time in military style training which is rare.
Prong collars are dangerous in dog socialization, as two dogs can get stuck to each other, causing both dogs to panic and just keep pulling
Also, aren’t owners supposed to loosen the leash? Like, when I was doing dog training one thing they told me was that when you allow the dog to pull it increases their chance of attacking because they feel restricted and scared.
Lol..my dogs have never used a leash everrr... so I wouldn't have had one on me lol

This brought tears in my eyes knowing that Momma Bess recognizes her puppies, ALL grown up. Then her puppies recognize their momma, this is wholesome and heartwarming

See, this explanation would make sense if we have videos of her reacting to meeting doggy strangers.
For all we know, this is how excited she always gets when she sees doggy strangers.
Also, i could be wrong about this, but after puppies get like 6 months - 1 year old, their moms start treating them like doggy strangers and the entire mother/ child bond is gone.
This is an important survival extinct built into wolves, dogs, cats, and the majority of other animals (exceptions being a super intelligent ones like elephants and dolphins and whales)

Are you people dumb? It's called safety they didn't know how they would all react to each other so the leads need to be on until they know they want fight.
SAME!!!! But it was also smart because there probably is more than one dog who thinks they are the alpha since they’ve been separated for 10 months. You aren’t successfully splitting up a dog fight with that many dogs.
My dogs have been together since they were 3 months old and after almost 8 years they get into actual fights once in a while. Thankfully they are good dogs and you just have to walk up to them and they stop.

On a walk, I accidentally met a woman with her little white Havapoo who instantly was best friends with my little Maltipoo. As it turned out, both came from the same breeder and when we asked, she confirmed they had the same poodle dad. After more than three years, we still meet for weekly walks and the dogs still play like they are puppies.
God bless all the families who adopted those babies and everyone in the comments. 💕🙏🏽

It’s actually shown dogs form a stronger bond with humans than they do other dogs, including their mother or puppies. Once they are separated they very quickly forget about the others, dogs brains don’t work the same as humans.

It's most likely because they are very young. Pits can be super strong on the leash even compared to bigger dogs. It's easier said than done

Contrary to some other people’s thoughts or experiences I agree with you. They’re strong but smart and easily trained with consistency and follow through. We’ve fostered 6 from ages 6wks to 5-6 years old and all learned so fast!!
Most Pitts don't get the proper training because the owners don't want to "take chances with a Pitbull"

A lot of breeds are near full size (stature) at age 1, they just have to fill out. Like a gangly 18yo kid.

Such a joy of tears to watch as Ive been trying to reunite my pups family for their 1st birthday. Just to watch the mum excitement. I was yelling, let them off their leash lol. This was wonderful and thank you for all those who took care of them in the beginning. It definitely was a team effort.

From some people who couldn't deal with him, we got a golden retriever who had been the brute of a litter of 11. He was a wild man. Totally affectionate, but kind of crazy. One day at the dog park he started playing wildly with another golden who looked a lot like him. The owner and I compared notes and the two had the same birthdate. We assumed they were sibs. They certainly liked each other a lot. I suspect they did remember.

@@zuluecho5886 I was an idiot. Never got the name and number of the other owner and never saw her there again. Probably was a one time deal for her, but I was at that dog park every weekend and sometimes even on week days. Might have been real fun to meet up occasionally.
At the time he had two other dog buddies he loved to play with so it wasn't sad for him.

I once had a landlord whose Rottweiler had a litter of puppies. She sold all but one to people in the neighborhood. Every so often, one of the new owners would walk by with one of them. It was adorable watching her and the remaining puppy jump up and run to the gate to happily say "Hi".

The first thing they do is smell each others scent and then the realization of who that dog is sweeps over their faces. Anyone can see that is recognition. May not know "hey! that is my puppy!" but the scent knows it is a dog she recognizes and is happy to see.

@@scareprankcreepypasta6716 hi, also a dog trainer, yknow, for my paid job, there are definitely some tensions there, in some scenes some of the dogs have their hackles raised, and also for all the “just let them off leash already” comments, with the sheer amount of high energy dogs? An excited “hello” can become a full scale fight with multiple dog involvement in a split second. Play can become dangerous quickly, which is why they say “three’s a crowd” where i work. 2 dogs playing can be positive and healthy, even if correction is needed on either party at times, the moment a third or more is involved, it becomes much harder to “police”

Very true. Think about mother cows in the dairy industry as well though, it's a million times worse. Forcibly impregnated for 5 years, and each calf is stolen to be killed within 72 hours if male, and if female put on artificial milk so another species can steal their milk (even though the cows and calves cry out for each other, even though breast milk is for infants of the same species as their mother, and even though 65% of people are dairy intolerant to some degree, even though it's main ingredient is casein and increases risk of cancers) and put in the same tortured position for 5 years as their mothers, before being killed because by 5 years old their milk starts to deplete.
For pedigree dogs, we pimp them out and sell their young to line our pockets and so someone can have a "cool" breed to show off.
We could all stand to be a bit more thoughtful and considerate, especially for people and animals who can't speak up for themselves.

Nope u were not the only one I'm a 56 year older Man and I was all in tears and laughing like a baby.
It’s amazing how they recognise each other. I’ve got a kitten and he was recently reunited with his mum and they actually meowed and ran to each other and she began grooming him. These sort of videos always melt my heart. I’m so glad all the puppies survived and found their forever homes.

it's a nice video but multiple studies have proven that dogs and cats don't recognize nor form very strong bonds with there offspring. the dogs were excited to see and play with each other because they are dogs. they didn't recognize there mother and the mother didn't recognize the puppies

That's a large litter and a blessing she was saved because who knows where she and her babies would be .
This is what humanity exists for, to be caretakers for the world and everything in it, and to give everything the best shot they can have at life.
It gave me so much anxiety how they took forever to unleash the dogs in a FENCED YARD, let them enjoy their reunion properly

My dog have 7 sibilings, the mom was a homeless dog and the dad dog had a home, so one day the dad dog got caught railing the mom dog so the family wanted to take the homeless dog in, all the puppies got adopted and all the dogs meet up every month

For clarity: dogs DO fully understand probability and Bess most likely assumed during the birth that she would lose some of her puppies. In the wild, seeing your entire abnormally large litter survive AND thrive is what dogs would consider a miracle.

It bothers me that the entire time they are holding the puppies back from playing with each other tugging on the leash, I understand for like 2 minutes to be safe but their siblings come on let that momma run with her puppies.
They probably won't be able to identify which is their dog without the leash to distinguish them.

One of the most beautiful story that I've ever seen brought me to tears first sad then happy tears I was so happy to see all those dog's reunited with their mom.
Out of all the dodo videos i have seen i have to say this one is my #1 favorite, i hate seeing pups separated from their moms and siblings! I absolutely love how they were all reunited with their mom omg this melted my heart ❤
This is exactly the story of my dog Shilo. He is a rescue dog. His mother, a beautiful Border Collie was found on the side of the road after giving birth to 4 puppies. She and the puppies were brought to boarding kennels to be looked after. We found out about them on Facebook and we went out to see the puppies. We immediately fell in love with Shilo and brought him home. Shilo's mother was called Lucy and we were delighted to find out that she and the other puppies, all boys, were found wonderful loving forever homes too.
Coming up to their first birthday I, with the lady who rescued Lucy and the puppies, arranged a 1st birthday reunion at a local beach to celebrate the day. It was amazing. All the brothers recognised each other instantly and started playing with each other. It was so great. Then Lucy arrived. She instantly went into Mother mode. She ran up to each of her puppies and started licking and fussing all over them making sure that they were all OK. Of course the boys were all delighted to see their mother again and they all made a big fuss of her too. They had an hour playing together on the beach and even a specially made birthday cake which lasted all of about 30 seconds! Even the local newspaper wrote about the story. It really was a wonderful day. That was 5 and a half years ago. We still have Shilo. He's lying on the chair next to me fast asleep. He's a brilliant and beautiful dog in every way. He's the absolute perfect mix of love and fun. A real furry angel. I love him so much and I am so glad he is such a wonderful part of my life.

Nicky OldfieldDesciple that’s awesome.We went to our local shelter and saw these two beautiful puppies and they were brothers and sisters.But we didn’t want to get one and leave the other.We decided to give them a week and then come back.2 days later we found out that the puppies found their loving homes.They both went to the same homes

B GT they can’t, that’s the worst way to introduce dogs or any animals to one another, if they let them off the leashes they could run away, they could attack, fight, and kill one another. You can never EVER predict what will happen with these kinds of thing.

If your dumb enough to not know about nature and how it works. Then don’t go screaming at me idiot. Do you think the dogs would know their mother when they last all together when they were newborns? No probably not. It’s like if you were just born and then put up for adoption because your parents couldn’t care for you. A couple weeks or days or months later you get adopted. Your probably going to live your whole life not knowing who your parents are if you wanted to know or not. This is not a Disney movie so pls shut the hell up.

Humans are animals; they forget this or arent taught it. Imagine having large canines feed and let you out. Being separated from mum. Spayed / neutered. And ppl wonder why they dont live long. That and bad greed driven veterinary care.

Length Feature they do. there scent is incredible, they attribute scents to everything they meet. and they remember it for years. they even have a way of telling time with there noises
